False Villain : Anunnaki System vs Demon Contract

Chapter 74: 071. Family's Curses.

The atmosphere felt more comfortable after Ardi's words of encouragement.

Inside the simple room, Randa sat on a chair while Ardi stood behind her while combing her hair.

"So, you never acted like a girl even as a child. Now that you have such a strong body, I doubt anyone would laugh at you if you acted more feminine than usual." said Ardi who was combing Randa's hair.

"It's not as easy as you think. I've had this physique and nature since childhood not by choice. Mostly because of my own father," Randa replied casually, as if she could talk about anything with Ardi.

"Your father? But what does that have to do with your body? Did your father force you to drink protein shakes as a child?"

"No, that's not it. Maybe you already know that this village uses sorcery and such. It's all thanks to Reizel's father who is also my uncle."

"Oh, you're Reizel's cousin? I just found out he has a cousin. He never told me, hehe..."

"Uncle Herman told me everything. The curse and the power our family has."

"Does it have anything to do with those goat monsters?"

"Exactly. Our family has special abilities that have something to do with kalomba."

Ardi paused for a moment and began to think as he recalled all the goat monsters he had seen since the day the mystical events began.

"I don't remember kalomba being like that. I've never seen one in person, but from what people have said, a kalomba doesn't look like that," said Ardi who looked very enthusiastic and curious.

"Those creatures are technically kalomba. Although they've been upgraded by Uncle Herman," Randa replied swiftly.

"Hmn... So, basically your family has some sort of ability related to dark sorcery and kalomba?"

"Then what does this have to do with the state of your body?"

Randa took a deep breath and then exhaled as if preparing to discuss something that was very difficult for her.

"The power I'm referring to is a power that can only be passed down to a son and my father really wants a son."

Ardi tried to connect clue after clue through the information Randa was saying although in the end he did not understand because mystical things were not his forte.

"As if fate didn't allow, my parents couldn't have children so in the end, my father used one of the rituals to sacrifice my mother in order to give birth to a strong boy," Randa continued to explain.

Ardi on the other hand was shocked and couldn't believe what he was hearing. "Wa... Wait a minute... Sacrifice? What do you mean sacrifice?"

"As I said, my mother died shortly after giving birth to me, but unfortunately I was born a girl. The only thing that makes me different is that my physique is very easy to grow strong quickly, even beyond normal limits."

Ardi swallowed his saliva. "S... So... Technically the ritual was only half successful?"

Randa sighed heavily and looked down slightly with a haggard face. "Something like that. That's why my father named me Randa Naroso which means strong woman."

Seeing Randa's reaction, Ardi also became sad. "Anu... What about your father?"

Randa lifted her face and put on a forced smile. "My father committed suicide because he could no longer raise me to be like man. Funny, isn't it? I was born as a failure of my own parents' plans and they just abandoned me."

Randa chuckled with a smile on her face, but Ardi knew that she was just trying to cover up her sadness.

Ardi immediately hugged Randa from behind and was almost in tears himself after hearing the story.

"I... I don't know what to do, but I feel sorry and sad," Ardi said to Randa's surprise.

The woman felt happy and a few tears flowed out of her eyes. "Thank you for being sad."

"This isn't right. So, all that stuff about the ritual is hereditary?" asked Ardi in a low tone of voice, as if he was very tired after hearing the story.

Randa smiled, but this time it wasn't a forced smile. "It is the curse of our family. I can't help but accept my fate."

Ardi suddenly remembered about one crucial thing that was important and made the young man stand up straight. "That's it! I almost forgot what we came here for."

"Randa, you can end the curse and make new history! Because Reizel will become the new chief and leave this village," said an enthusiastic Ardi.

"EH?! What do you mean?" Randa's emotions, which had been sad, turned into shock.

"I don't know if he's going to kill or just defeat the old chief, but the point is that once he's done, we'll hurry up and leave."

Randa immediately stood up from her chair and looked at Ardi. "Wait a minute, are you serious? Why? More precisely, why did Reizel do that?"

"Reizel isn't going to stay here, he just wants to help bring Jessica back home. That's all."

"Eh?! Wait a minute, I still don't understand. So, she's still loyal to that electric guy?"

Ardi was silent for a moment. "Uh... A... That... He did it because he wanted to help, Reizel isn't Johan's subordinate anymore, but someone named Aril."

"Aril? Who is that?"

"I don't quite know who he is, but he also uses magic power and he's also very strong."

"How strong?"

"You still remember that bald-headed system user who can control things that look like black iron?"

The look on Randa's face immediately changed, he looked very upset even just by remembering the person Ardi was referring to.

"That person was named Gilbert, Aril managed to kill him by himself," Ardi said which made Randa's eyes widen.

"Eh?! Seriously?! He's that strong?"

"He also managed to get Johan almost dying and -"

"Huh?! There's someone who managed to defeat that lightning guy?!"

"Yep."

"Is he coming here?!"

"That's... Uh... Aril isn't coming here, he's a strong but very selfish person."

Her enthusiasm lower a bit. "That's what it looks like. But it's really surprising that there's someone who can defeat that lightning man. That means he could be as strong as Rama."

"The point I'm trying to make is that you can change your family's history and remove that hereditary curse. When Reizel leaves, you can take over and become -"

"Unfortunately that's impossible," said Randa who quickly cut off Ardi's sentence.

"What do you mean impossible?"

"The people in this village rely heavily on Uncle Herman's protection. If uncle Herman and Reizel are gone, no one is strong enough to become the new village chief," replied Randa who crossed her arms and leaned against the wall.

"You could be the next village chief."

"Unfortunately, the person most likely to replace them is Rama."

"So, are you planning to leave this village?"

"That too is impossible. If Rama becomes the new village chief, he definitely won't let me go. He's not only strong, but also very cunning, he wouldn't be so stupid as to let go of a strong subordinate like me."

Ardi was now sluggish and sighed heavily as he looked down.

Randa smiled instead. "There's no need to be so sad. I'm used to living like this. I just want to thank you for listening to me complain earlier."

"But -"

*Knok! Knok!

A knock on the door caught both of their attention. Randa walked out of her room and opened the front door.

As she opened the door, she was greeted by a shocking news.

Reizel had killed Herman and now the whole village was preparing to welcome the new village chief.
