Chapter 47: Chapter 47 Mermaid Heel
After a natural sleep, Caesar stretched.
Although the new bed was more comfortable than the crib in the guild's attic, Caesar missed that crib even more.
"You really recognize the bed."
Caesar smiled helplessly.
After washing up and walking up the stairs to the first floor, Caesar had a quick bite and was ready to go out and meet up at Mermaid Heel to complete the commission together.
But as soon as he opened the door, Caesar saw Mirajane standing at the entrance of his home.
Seeing Caesar come out, Mirajane waved and said, "Caesar, I told the Master, we are going together."
"Mira, are you going too?"
Caesar was stunned for a moment, then nodded and said, "Then let's go together. We'll finish this quickly."
Caesar didn't refuse. After all, he didn't care much about the commission. He just wanted to see how Kagura was doing.
As for the job?
Unless a Holy Ten level mage appeared, Caesar basically had no pressure at all.
Seeing Caesar agree, Mirajane smiled and thought to herself, "I heard Mermaid Heel is an all-female guild, and they asked Caesar specifically. Definitely suspicious. Lucky I'm smart. With me here, no one's abducting Caesar!"
The two set off together.
Originally, Caesar planned to fly there directly, but Mirajane's magic power couldn't support such a long-distance flight.
So, with no other choice, the two boarded a passenger ship headed for Mermaid Heel.
Perhaps still rested from his sleep, Caesar only yawned a few times on the ship but didn't fall asleep.
The ship traveled quickly, and after following the coastline of Fiore for nearly a day, they arrived at the city where Mermaid Heel was located.
Mermaid Heel, known as the Dancing Queen of the Sea, had only female members.
When Caesar and Mirajane arrived, they were immediately surrounded by the many women of the guild.
Mirajane struggled to get them through the crowd, and Caesar soon met the guild's Master.
Caesar was curious about her.
In the original story, the Master of Mermaid Heel never appeared. Later, Kagura would take over the guild.
There were rumors the Master was a man and the whole guild was his harem.
But Caesar quickly realized he had overthought it.
The Master of Mermaid Heel was an old woman with no notable features, aside from her age and frailty.
During their conversation, Caesar found out she was 118 years old.
No wonder she stayed out of the plot. If anything happened, who could take responsibility?
Despite her age, the old woman was gentle and kind.
After explaining the mission, she called over Caesar and Mirajane's partners.
A chubby girl and a tall, straight-haired girl.
"This is Risley, and this is Kagura. These two are Fairy Tail members: Mirajane and S-Class mage Caesar. Risley, Kagura, listen to orders and cooperate. Understood?"
Introductions were made.
"Kagura," Caesar said as he looked at the black-haired girl with a ribbon on her head.
Kagura nodded politely. "Hello."
Caesar smiled at her cool demeanor.
Right. Kagura was still young and didn't remember much. She had even forgotten Erza, who saved her. How would she remember Caesar?
But that didn't matter.
Seeing Kagura was a closure for this body's lingering regrets.
It was also a connection to the last survivor of Rosemary Village.
Now, Caesar felt more at peace.
Next, all that remained was to destroy the R-System and be done with the past. Only then could Caesar fully master his body.
The problem was, the Tower of Heaven was likely under concealment magic. Its exact location remained unknown.
Asking Erza?
She was constantly misled, like Gray. Caesar didn't want to rely on them anymore.
Still, the bait was set. All that was left was to see if the fish would bite.
...
"The dark guild we're attacking is the Water of the Spring. They're hiding on a small island, with over thirty members," Risley explained.
"The hardest ones are [Secret Spring] Blaise and [Devil] Lyon. One uses heavy water magic, the other uses take over magic, like us."
"Wait, you said his name is [Devil]?" Mirajane interrupted with a smirk. "Who gave him that name?"
Caesar chuckled. Mirajane, known as the Demon, wasn't fond of copycats.
Though not widely known yet, her name had begun spreading.
This new "Devil" title didn't sit well with her.
Mirajane made up her mind to take him down herself.
Caesar noticed this and said, "Mira and I will deal with the two main targets. You two handle the rest. Okay?"
"We don't mind, but those two..."
Kagura frowned.
But Caesar interrupted, smiling. "I don't like the title, but maybe you forgot. People call me [Tyrant]."
Yes, Caesar had a title too, though he disliked it.
Why Tyrant?
During commissions, Caesar went all out, especially on extermination missions.
His destructive power and ruthless efficiency earned him the name.
It spread through surviving dark guilds and cults.
Over time, the name stuck.
