Dragon Game: All My Dragons Are Ranked 'SSS'

Chapter 56: Draconic Goblin Boss Monster

The monster lunged, its axe raised high over its horned head.

Drahon didn't move. He was simply calculating his next move in that split second. He tightened his grip on the harness and shouted:

[DRACONIC ROAR!]

The Fire Dragon understood. Its chest swelled as it opened its jaws wide and—

ROAR!

A cone of fire erupted, blazing red and orange with golden streaks. The roar cracked the air like lightning, and the flames that followed surged forward…

The goblin flying at Drahon was engulfed mid-air.

Instantly, it reduced to ash before hitting the ground.

Drahon shifted slightly on the dragon's back, steadying himself. He glanced around.

More goblins were leaping, snarling and diving through the air like they were weightless.

Too many.

A blur of shadow swept past him, it was Devon.

His Demon Dragon twisted through the air, turning sideways like a predator in flight. One flap of its wings and it shot forward like a missile.

Devon raised his arms. From his hands, long curved blades of condensed dark energy formed, sickle-shaped, almost like wings. When Drahon stared at them more intently, he saw they resembled the scimitar sword Devon had back at level one, only more dark and otherworldly.

The first goblin didn't have time to react.

Devon slashed once, and its torso split. It fell with the second...

Slash!

Another followed, and Devon's blade went straight through its chest with a low, dull crunch.

He kicked the dying body off and kept flying.

Ayvira's dragon circled above, drifting like a petal on wind. But when it attacked, it was fast. Thin streaks of greenish-pink energy shot from its wings, slicing through two goblins before they even saw her.

One got too close.

The flower dragon's mouth opened, not to breathe fire, but to release a sudden flash of light, a glow of radiant energy. It blinded the goblin instantly, and Ayvira drove her spear straight down into its skull. The limp body dropped like a stone.

Drahon stared at the scene, surprised.

'How?!'

Her dragon was the most unique he had seen so far since entering the Dragon Game. If it didn't breathe fire but instead roared light, then it was powerful in a very unique way.

Drahon leaned low on his Fire Dragon, signaling with a small movement of his body. His dragon dove down.

Three goblins launched in response, thinking they could intercept. But they were wrong.

The Fire Dragon spun mid-air, twisting its body sharply, and unleashed another burst of fire. The flames exploded around the monsters, reducing them to ash.

Ash fell like snow at this point.

Devon cut through two more, his blades silent but deadly.

Ayvira moved like the wind, her dragon weaving left and right while she threw short javelins of condensed energy from her hand, each one glowing faintly.

Every single one found a target.

Drahon furrowed a brow again, surprised she could summon javelins from thin air.

Perhaps she was stronger than Devon?

Drahon struck down another goblin midair with a single, accurate slash from his sword.

The sky was fire and smoke, and the players moved in tandem, cutting down the leaping goblins one by one, wasting neither time nor strength. The monsters had speed and numbers. But the players had dragons, unique dragons.

Five more goblins leapt—

Devon's dragon swept its tail sideways, swatting three away like flies. Ayvira's flower dragon released a wave of scent-like energy, disorienting the remaining two. One fell. The other burst into particles as Drahon drove his sword through its back.

The last of them crashed to the earth in pieces.

The skies were empty now.

All three players hovered above the battlefield, their dragons flapping steadily to hold them in place.

Below them lay dozens of charred bodies, torn limbs, and burnt claws. Steam rose from the ground where flame and shadow had scorched it.

"I guess that's it?" Ayvira asked, knowing full well that it wasn't.

"Now we await the Boss Monster," Drahon said, staring at Devon.

"We might have to use our most powerful forms now."

Devon nodded, anticipating. They all were anticipating at this point.

Drahon smiled and looked around.

"Any minute now!" he said loudly.

Then the ground cracked slightly.

Drahon narrowed his eyes.

This chapter was first seen on MV^LEM^PYR.

"Here we go."

The ashes were moving. They weren't being blown by wind, instead they were gathering.

Devon's dragon flapped higher instinctively, while Ayvira gripped her dragon's reins tighter, backing up slightly.

The ashes and pieces of goblin corpses slowly drifted toward one another, pulled by something invisible.

Their blackened bones creaked as they floated off the ground. Cracked horns snapped into place. Claws twisted, and faint red light flared in their eyes.

Then a huge shadow formed.

A massive monster now stood in the center of the battlefield, its body shaped like a Draconic Goblin, but far larger.

It seemed to be twelve feet tall, fused together from bone, scale, and essence. The scars of different goblins covered its hide like patchwork, and its left arm was a jagged blade of bone.

Its right hand held a molten spear, and its wings were twisted and bat-like, sprouted from its back.

Its mouth opened with a grinding sound-

ROARR!

A deep, gurgled snarl that sent vibrations through the ground, and a black ripple of force burst outward-

BOOM!

The players dragons staggered slightly in the air, pushed back by the shockwave, their riders gripping tight. Drahon held firm as his dragon reeled. Devon's demon dragon growled. Ayvira's mount flinched but held position.

Well, they had expected a Boss Monster, but seeing how this looked like, they couldn't help but be a little bit startled.
