Chapter 79: Chapter 79: Kaido is Lucky, at Least He Has a Whole Corpse Left!

Vegeta could easily tell that Sengoku claimed Kaido had escaped only because they had lost track of him. But the truth was different—Vegeta knew exactly where Kaido had gone.

Since Kaido's escape, Vegeta had kept him locked firmly in his perception. He could sense Kaido's location clearly and precisely.

So, naturally, he wasn't about to let him go.

But before chasing after Kaido, Vegeta turned his attention to the other pirates still lingering on the battlefield.

He knew where Kaido was and could chase him down anytime. For now, it was best to eliminate the rest of the pirates.

After all, if he flew off and left these stragglers behind, they might escape. And with so many of them, Vegeta couldn't be bothered to remember each one's energy signature. Better to wipe them all out now.

"I'll deal with these pirates first. Just wait a moment," Vegeta said calmly.

Sengoku could only nod. "Alright."

Still, he was inwardly moved.

Just look at that attitude. This was real dedication—pure professionalism!

The remaining pirates, who had only just started to relax thinking they had survived the worst, were suddenly overwhelmed with panic.

Moments ago, they were fixated on the monstrous tsunami. But now they realized something even more terrifying remained: the man who had made the tsunami disappear—Vegeta!

They didn't know how he had neutralized such a cataclysmic force, but they knew he had done it. And now, he was heading for them.

No one could stop him.

Their fear at this moment was even worse than what they had felt during the tsunami. At least then, Vegeta was on their side. But now, there was no one between them and Vegeta's wrath.

Even though there were many pirates left, their numbers were meaningless in front of someone like Vegeta.

In a flash, they were all gone. Not a trace of any of them remained. Vegeta's attack was devastating—so complete that not even corpses were left behind. Only ashes.

Once he finished off the last of the pirates, Vegeta focused his senses on Kaido's location and launched himself into the sky.

He knew exactly where the pirate emperor was.

Sengoku and the others weren't surprised when Vegeta flew away. They had seen enough by now to know he was unlike anyone they'd ever encountered.

Flying? That wasn't even strange anymore. This was just another day with the thugs.

Even if they didn't know where Kaido had gone, the fact that Vegeta was heading out again meant only one thing—he knew.

Meanwhile...

In the distance, the giant blue dragon form of Kaido soared through the skies in panic.

But he wasn't flying toward Onigashima, his home base. That would be foolish.

What if the navy survived the tsunami with help from that terrifying man?

If they did, Sengoku might send that same monster straight to Onigashima.

So, Kaido flew randomly, hoping to lose himself in the chaos of the world.

Unbeknownst to him, above the clouds, another figure soared high above him, keeping a close eye on his every move.

Vegeta.

"That dragon is nothing compared to Shenron from the Dragon Balls," Vegeta muttered to himself. "But it's interesting—it's a person who turned into a dragon. I didn't expect people in this world to turn into elements, let alone into creatures like dragons. I wonder what else they can become?"

He gazed down.

"Hey, you! Show me what you can do in that dragon form. I want to see it all."

Kaido was startled by the voice from above. He looked up and saw Vegeta hovering in the sky.

"Y-You can fly?! How is this possible?!" Kaido was dumbfounded.

More importantly, it didn't look like he was using any Devil Fruit power. Just natural flying!

"I'm giving you one last chance," Vegeta said coldly. "Use all your abilities—show me everything your dragon form can do. Because if you don't, you won't get another opportunity."

Kaido gritted his teeth. His heart pounded.

If this man was here, that meant the tsunami must've been stopped. And worse—this man had somehow tracked him down despite all the zig-zagging and erratic flying.

Even Kaido didn't know where he was right now. But Vegeta had still found him.

That meant only one thing: Vegeta had some way to trace him—one he didn't understand.

The only way out?

Kill him.

No matter how terrifying Vegeta was, Kaido decided that killing him was his only chance at true escape.

With a roar, Kaido opened his massive maw and released a searing column of flame—his signature move: Heat Breath.

It tore through the sky like a firestorm, aimed directly at Vegeta.

The flames exploded around him.

Kaido smirked. This move was enough to level a mountain. There was no way the man survived it unharmed.

But then... the fire dispersed.

And Vegeta emerged.

Untouched.

Unscathed.

Not even a scratch.

Kaido's smirk froze on his face.

"H-How?! That move can turn entire mountains to ash! How are you unharmed?!"

As one of the Four Emperors, Kaido had seen plenty of powerful people. But this? This was beyond anything he could imagine.

That attack should've done something—anything!

"Is that all?" Vegeta asked, looking almost disappointed.

Kaido didn't answer. Instead, he roared again and unleashed another barrage—this time a flurry of wind blades.

Destructive Wind—sharp, invisible blades of air that could slice a man in two.

But that wasn't all.

Kaido began spinning, generating massive cyclones to combine with the wind blades, increasing their force exponentially.

This was one of his deadliest combinations.

Vegeta's eyes narrowed with interest.

Now this was something different.

"I've seen energy blasts all my life," Vegeta thought. "But wind? Tornadoes? Now that's interesting."

The tornados whipped toward him. The air pressure was intense. Sharp winds slashed across the sky.

To Kaido's horror, Vegeta just stood there.

Unbothered.

"This is pretty refreshing," he said, enjoying the breeze. "Might come in handy on a hot summer day."

Kaido's heart sank. If even this wasn't working...

...he had no hope.

Panic gripped him, and he did the only thing left—he ran.

He turned and flew away, his enormous dragon body twisting through the air.

But Vegeta simply smiled.

Whether Kaido ran or fought didn't matter.

The result would be the same.

He flew above Kaido in a blink and stomped hard on the dragon's head.

The force slammed Kaido out of the sky and into a nearby island. The impact caused the entire landmass to tremble.

Kaido lay sprawled in a crater, back in human form.

His horns were broken.

His head was sunken in.

He was conscious—but barely. The pain was excruciating. Even worse, for the first time in his life, Kaido felt real fear.

Fear of death.

He had attempted suicide countless times before—fought admirals, other Emperors, even launched solo invasions.

But deep down, he always knew—nothing could kill him.

Until now.

Now, death was real.

Vegeta landed beside him, but didn't kill him.

Not yet.

He picked up Kaido's battered body and flew back to Marineford.

Sengoku and the others stared in disbelief as he returned.

Kaido—one of the Four Emperors—was beaten beyond recognition.

His infamous durability? Meaningless.

This was the man who couldn't be hanged, stabbed, or beheaded. Chains snapped. Guillotines broke.

Even the admirals struggled to hurt him.

But now... his horns were broken. His head crushed.

And he was dead weight in Vegeta's arms.

"There's only one pirate left," Vegeta said, tossing Kaido's body to the ground. "Once I kill him, my mission will be complete."

He raised a foot and delivered one final kick to Kaido's chest.

A sickening crack echoed through the air.

Kaido stopped breathing.

He was dead.

Not even a last word.

Sengoku and the others stood frozen.

Even if Kaido was an enemy, his fate was a little tragic.

But if you thought about it... dying at the hands of someone like Vegeta wasn't such a bad end.

At least he had a body left.

Those other pirates? Not even ashes remained.

Vegeta dusted off his hands and looked at Sengoku.

"My task is done. If you're satisfied, I'll take that five-star review now."

Sengoku nodded like his life depended on it—even if he didn't know what a five-star review was, he'd give ten if he could.
