Chapter 327: [DD]: 327
Choosing to burn his origin power, Asura showed he still had some fight left in him. At this moment, he seemed to have returned to his peak.
The blood-red Asura power emanating from him resembled a mutated sun, radiating an oppressive, chilling, and bloody aura that filled the hearts of everyone present.
Unfortunately for him, Han Li also possessed the same Asura power. But unlike God Asura, Han Li didn't need to push himself to the brink—he was already at his peak.
Han Li's entire being surged with abundant divine power, and the Asura energy he unleashed carried only pure intent: slaughter and judgment.
Han Li had fully integrated and inherited the Asura God's position. According to the laws of the universe, no one was more legitimate—not even the previous holder.
"I am the Asura God!"
As the massive hammer collided with the blood sword, Han Li's previously furious demeanor instantly sharpened into icy focus. A light, mocking statement reached Asura's ears.
Asura's face changed drastically, but the fully unleashed blood sword could no longer be stopped.
In this world, a divine position carries real power. It might not always be obvious, but it was a critical element of the divine system—representing recognition of the laws of the universe. Why else would gods place such importance on divine positions?
A divine position symbolizes identity. With it, even outside the God Realm, the laws of the universe wouldn't act against you.
The universe's ultimate rule is order, and this principle holds true here as well.
Han Li had come to this realization during his last attempt to awaken the plane's consciousness. Asura, Destruction, and Life held a unique dual identity as law enforcers, granting them a degree of immunity—especially against gods who possessed divine positions.
This was why Han Li had dared to take on Asura's inheritance, even knowing it was riddled with traps. In a sense, it was like obtaining a license to wield power.
Han Li, a man with a touch of obsessive-compulsive tendencies, believed that everything had its purpose. If it existed, there was a reason for it. His philosophy was simple: seize it, and it would prove useful sooner or later. This approach had guided his actions all along.
After all, Han Li still didn't fully understand why he had reincarnated into the Douluo World.
It was only prudent to remain vigilant. He identified himself as a force of lawful chaos, staying prepared for any possibility.
What if, in the grand scheme of things, some higher power had sent him to this world to do their bidding? Better to follow the game's rules, at least within a reasonable scope. Even if this concern turned out to be unnecessary, he would lose nothing by playing it safe.
Thus, despite having a clear advantage, Han Li chose to maintain caution—and it paid off. His preparations came in handy when facing Asura.
When gods with divine positions fought, it was competition. Except for the law enforcement gods, divine positions and rules didn't cause major conflicts.
But Asura no longer held a divine position.
His opponent was Han Li, who now carried the traits of a law enforcement god.
So, the outcome was inevitable.
When their weapons collided, Asura felt not only Han Li's overwhelming power but also the backlash of the Asura energy he had relied upon and an inexplicable pressure from the universe itself. Even though Asura's origin power was Asura energy, it made no difference.
The backlash wasn't overly pronounced—Asura had only recently relinquished his position, and its lingering influence remained. Moreover, Han Li wasn't a traditional inheritor. But the rigid, mindless rules of the universe still imposed their judgment.
Crack!
In the soundless expanse of the universe, a sharp noise suddenly rang out.
An artifact of the highest caliber—a super divine weapon—should have carried some divinity. But as the Asura Demonic Sword, already damaged, faced its rightful current owner and the weight of the universe's laws, it began to fracture.
In the pitch-black void, an unprecedented brightness erupted.
A blood-red fissure split the space above their battlefield as if the heavens were collapsing.
Asura, whose soul was bound to the Demonic Sword, could no longer endure his injuries. Worse still, he was already at his limit, having poured all his origin power into the weapon.
A mouthful of blood-red origin essence spilled from his lips. The blood-red armor on his body shattered, and his form began to shift. Though still humanoid, he no longer retained his former cold and imposing image.
The broken sword and dissipated origin essence exposed his true form—a monstrous being with a green face, tusks, and eleven arms.
"You're truly hideous. No wonder your heart is just as filthy," Han Li's words stabbed deeper than any weapon. Asura could only glare, powerless to refute.
Han Li's attack hadn't even fully landed yet.
The shattered Demonic Sword plunged mercilessly into Asura's heart under his stunned gaze. Then, the colossal hammer, infused with the familiar Asura power, came crashing down on his body.
Boom!
A small black hole was born, attempting to swallow the blood mist that was all that remained of Asura. But Han Li forcefully restrained it with spatial power and ignited it with the violet-blue flames of Rakshasa energy.
Amid the burning blood mist, Asura's twisted, unwilling soul howled in despair, unable to escape as it was slowly obliterated.
"You're surprisingly fire-resistant. Let's add some more fuel to the flames," Han Li said coldly, preparing to finish the job.
Han Li dissipated his divine form and casually tossed a mass of blood flames and deep violet lightning into the void. These were the Judgment Flame representing Asura's power and the Destruction Thunder embodying the force of destruction. Combining the two, Han Li ensured the highest level of ceremony for Asura's final send-off.
Three breaths later, the wailing and the humming of the shattered sword ceased. Han Li, using the Destruction Thunder, swept through the space one more time. After verifying the area with the Laws of Fate, he released his spatial restraints, allowing the black hole to consume that section of space.
Satisfied, he moved to pick up the broken sword.
Then, his gaze shifted to the floating, unclaimed essence of Asura's origin energy nearby.
A flash of understanding crossed his eyes as he collected it.
Next, he turned his attention to another battlefield.
The scene there was entirely different from his confrontation with Asura.
Led by Gu Yue, the gods of Douluo Planet were bombarding their opponents with overwhelming skill attacks. This time, they were unusually cooperative. Gu Yue, wielding the Silver Dragon Spear, held the front line, while the others rained down their newly empowered divine abilities from the rear.
Even Dugu Yan and Shui Bing'er tried a divine version of what might still be considered a Martial Soul Fusion Technique. The power they unleashed far exceeded the scope of a first-level god's strength.
On the opposing side, the forces of Evil and Kindness were weak. Evil still attempted a counterattack and even tried to erupt with power after Asura's death, but Gu Yue revealed her true form and forcefully held him in place.
Kindness, on the other hand, barely mounted a defense and refrained from attacking entirely, appearing passive and resigned.
In the God Realm, with the support of the gods, Destruction, and Life finally freed themselves to observe the battlefield. However, they were careful not to leave the God Realm, even when Asura was reduced to ashes.
The gods had already realized Han Li's power surpassed that of a Divine King. Especially now, he remained in peak condition, a fact no one could ignore.
There was another startling realization: a super divine artifact had been destroyed, and the God Realm's protective barrier shattered—events even the Dragon God War had not witnessed.
Han Li flew toward the battlefield. Behind him, Qian Renxue and the others ceased their attacks, while Gu Yue continued to keep Evil at bay. Kindness stood motionless.
Stopping near Kindness, Han Li raised the weapon of Fate and aimed it at her.
"Based on your recent behavior, I'll give you a choice: fight me or end your own life. I can preserve a fragment of your true soul, but forget about retaining your memories—I don't enjoy creating trouble for myself."
Han Li maintained a safe distance, wary of Kindness. As a Divine King who specialized in the emotional rules, she was a potential threat. Even with the Laws of Fate and other supreme laws protecting him, Han Li preferred to keep his distance.
As for Gu Yue, she had claimed she had experience dealing with these situations, and he couldn't dissuade her.
Kindness hesitated briefly before nodding at him. She turned to face the God Realm, bowed deeply, and lingered for a moment.
Finally, she straightened up, casting a longing glance at the God Realm.
"Thank you," she said softly as her form gradually dissipated.
All that remained was a cluster of pure energy and a cracked Kindness Heart, floating quietly in place.
A faint golden ripple emanated from Han Li's body, sweeping over the spot where Kindness had been. Only then did he collect the remnants.
As Kindness chose self-destruction, Evil seemed to sense something. Ignoring his ongoing battle with Gu Yue, he endured a direct hit from her and charged toward Han Li.
"Don't make this look like some tragic love story. She didn't even mention you," Han Li remarked coldly.
"Originally, I was willing to preserve a fragment of your true soul as well, in consideration of the Evil God Orb. But unfortunately, you made the wrong choice."
A streak of faint golden light shot out from the weapon of Fate in Han Li's hand, cutting through space and piercing Evil's forehead.
There was no visible external injury, yet Evil collapsed.
Han Li's aura weakened sharply before recovering quickly.
This strike had been a full-power arrow formed from the Laws of Fate. Even so, the severely weakened Evil still managed to drain half of Han Li's divine power.
Killing a Divine King, even one whose fate was sealed, consumed a tremendous amount of energy. It reinforced Han Li's understanding that his laws were not suited for confrontations.
Still, this outcome saved him the trouble of dealing with Evil later, so he wasn't too bothered.
Han Li had no idea what Evil's final charge was meant to achieve, nor did he care. All he knew was that Evil had chosen to rebel, and death was the inevitable consequence.
He glanced at the spot where Evil had fallen, collecting a mass of murky energy along with the Scales of Judgment.
Then, with the group now gathering around him, Han Li headed toward the God Realm.
They stopped at the edge, gazing at the gods below and the God Realm itself, which, despite the efforts of Destruction and Life, continued to crumble slowly.
"How much longer can it hold?" Han Li asked Destruction.
Once his enemy, Destruction had been one of the first to charge into battle. Now, they were standing and conversing as allies.
"At most five years," Destruction replied grimly. "After that, the God Realm will collapse entirely." This was the maximum time he and Life had calculated, even with their full efforts to maintain it.
"Then just find another place to live," Han Li said nonchalantly.
In all of his plans, this current God Realm was never going to exist for long anyway.
