Chapter 87: DULK: Chapter 87
Arthas didn't remember much; the last thing he recalled was a towering inferno and a heart-wrenching cry.
Damn… I was careless, but at least I'm alive.
Arthas opened his eyes to an unfamiliar ceiling.
The luxurious decor surprised him; in Orario, only the Loki Familia could afford such opulence.
Am I in the Loki Familia?
As he wondered, the door opened.
A man and a woman entered. The man looked seventy or eighty, frail and seemingly vulnerable to a strong gust of wind.
The woman…
"River…ia?"
Arthas murmured, then shook his head.
Though similar in aura, this woman wasn't Riveria.
Seeing Arthas call out a strange name, the woman with silver hair looked curious; besides her grandfather, he was only the second man she'd met.
"You're awake, young man."
Jubstacheit was surprised when Illya said she'd found a man in the forest. The Einzbern area had a boundary; only mages could enter; ordinary people couldn't.
If a mage had broken the boundary, Jubstacheit would have noticed. Even though the Einzbern family was in decline, their reputation remained; which mage would dare trespass?
With these questions, Jubstacheit followed Illya to the room where Arthas was resting.
Seeing Arthas, Jubstacheit was shocked.
Illya couldn't sense it, but Jubstacheit felt the immense mana radiating from Arthas.
This was a mage, a powerful one.
But why was he on Einzbern land? Why was he unconscious?
"Who are you… Is this the Loki Familia?"
Arthas frowned, asking Jubstacheit.
"Loki… Familia?"
Jubstacheit stammered; Loki was a God's name. But what did it mean in conjunction with "Familia"?
A God's… Familia?
Seeing Jubstacheit's confusion, Arthas took a deep breath and asked again.
"Is this Orario?"
"I'm sorry, young man. I've never heard of Orario. This isn't Orario; this is Germany, the Einzbern estate."
Unfamiliar words; Arthas was stunned.
Germany… Einzbern?
Had he been transported to another world? What happened? Why am I here?
Jubstacheit was incredibly surprised; if his guess was correct, this young man was from another world!
For a mage who'd lived for centuries, visitors from other worlds weren't impossible. Even the Servants summoned by the Grail were, in a sense, from other worlds.
"Young man, what will you do?"
Jubstacheit asked, seeing Arthas's silence.
"I don't know… but I must return to Orario. People there worry about me; people I care about are there."
Arthas stood, ready to leave.
"Excuse me, young man, you're a mage, correct?"
Arthas stopped, turning to the old man, waiting for him to finish.
"I'm a mage. To my knowledge, interdimensional travel is impossible."
Jubstacheit chuckled.
"Not entirely. The legendary Second Magic can do it. But its user travels between parallel worlds; finding him is impossible."
"What are you… saying?!"
"I mean… I don't know how you arrived, but it wasn't intentional, right? Otherwise, you wouldn't have been found unconscious in the snow by my granddaughter."
Jubstacheit said; Arthas fell silent.
He didn't know much about this world, but from the old man's description, it seemed similar to Orario, with powerful individuals.
In Orario, no one could freely travel between worlds.
Not even the Gods.
"We can't find the Second Magic user, but there's something else that can help."
"What?"
Arthas was interested; his priority was returning to Orario. Help from this world's strong would be easier than going it alone.
"It's… the Holy Grail!"
Seeing Arthas's interest, Jubstacheit smiled cruelly.
"Eh…"
Illya looked puzzled.
Grandfather said the Einzbern participant in the Holy Grail War had been chosen; he would become her fiancée.
Despite her knowledge, Illya, with the mind of a child, struggled to understand what a fiancée was.
She knew her duties, but felt more confused than shy.
