According to esotericism, beyond this world lies the pinnacle of dimensional theory—"Force."

Defined as the origin point of all things, the "Vortex of Radix," the ultimate goal of all mages, is both the beginning and end of all things, recording everything that happens in this world, the divine throne that created all things.

200 years ago, someone attempted to reach this "world beyond."

Einzbern, Makiri, and Tohsaka. Known as the founding three families, they sought to recreate the "Holy Grail," mentioned in countless legends. To summon this Grail capable of fulfilling any wish, mages from the three families exchanged their forbidden arts, finally bringing the "omnipotent cauldron" into existence.

However, the Grail could only grant one wish. The moment this became clear, cooperation turned into bloody conflict.

This was the beginning of the "Holy Grail War."

Every 60 years, the Grail reappears in the Far East, in Fuyuki City, where it was once summoned. It chooses seven mages worthy of possessing it, sharing its immense power, allowing them to summon Heroic Spirits known as "Servants." They engage in a death battle to determine who truly deserves the Grail.

Early spring had passed; it was nearing summer, yet the area remained covered in snow.

Einzbern—a mountain city perpetually shrouded in snow. Inhabiting this frozen city is a unique family, maintaining a history of over a thousand years without branching out or interacting with other mages, controlling their collective consciousness, a family of monsters who have reached the realm of gods and demons.

Ironically, the Einzbern family, creators of the Holy Grail War, have never won. This is considered a shameful stain on their history.

Time passed; the Fourth Holy Grail War was approaching.

The Einzbern family once again deployed their trump card—a perfect homunculus, the Grail's vessel.

But a homunculus alone wasn't enough. They needed a powerful mage.

Unfortunately, while the Einzbern's direct bloodline hadn't died out, their talent was lacking; besides the head of the family, Jubstacheit von Einzbern, there were no capable mages.

Jubstacheit had to look for outside help.

A thousand-year-old family needing outside help to acquire the Grail—a sad irony.

But there was no choice; any price was acceptable for the Grail.

After finding a suitable mage, he would marry his granddaughter, the homunculus Illya, and have him join the Einzbern family to avoid ridicule.

Whether the mage agreed was irrelevant. Illya, based on a former Winter Saintess, was undeniably beautiful.

Joining the ancient Einzbern family was a great boon for wandering mages.

Jubstacheit had a candidate: a ruthless man known as a mage killer. Despite his unsavory reputation, such a person would be easily controlled.

In the Einzbern forest, two heavily bundled girls walked through the snow.

They carried oversized battle-axes; they weren't as frail as they appeared.

Ahead of them was a woman with pure white hair and striking crimson eyes.

Unlike her bundled servants, she wore a luxurious fur coat and had a lively expression.

Despite her mature and intelligent appearance, she acted like a child.

She was, in fact, very young.

This was her first time leaving her room; exploring the forest near the Einzbern castle thrilled Illya.

She ran through the snow like a child and tripped.

"Ow… ow… what is it?"

Rubbing her head, Illya looked at what had tripped her.

"A… a person?!"

She realized it wasn't an object; a young man lay in the snow, seemingly asleep.

Illya initially thought he was frozen to death, but checked his breath and pulse; he was alive.

"I must take him to the castle."

She didn't know why he was on Einzbern territory, but leaving him in the snow would be fatal.

She struggled to move him; as a homunculus, Illya was frail compared to the powerful homunculi who served as her bodyguards.

"It's… heavy. Help me carry him."

After failing, Illya gestured to her homunculi.

They silently lifted the young man, and the group returned to the Einzbern castle.
