Dancing Between The Hearts- Tylia and Theo

Chapter 3: First Encounter

The Moon Private High School once gained attention when Aiden Jackson passed all his exams with remarkable marks and graduated two years ahead before securing admission into a prestigious medical school. After several years had passed, Aiden began his core training, mentored by Mathias and Quinn.

Aiden achievement inspired Tylia to follow in his footsteps. She was a bright student with an outstanding academic score. At the age of sixteen, she was at the final-year of the same school as Aiden. Because she was the youngest, her classmates treated her like their younger sister. Her kind-heart nature and friendly demeanor also made everyone in the class fond of her.

February arrived as the school half-term breaks were set to take place within a week. So was Valentine. Tylia was rained by love letters and gifts from her admirer.

Every year, when February arrived, Sara would help Tylia prepare an extra bag for her convenience. It was impossible to grab all the letters and gifts with two hands. With that, all the items can be secured into the bag.

Of course, they know Tylia was a fiancée to another man, but who cares? Everyone knew it was a family arrangement.

Besides, gossip about Chris having another woman has spread across the cities recently. Chris denied it and explained through the media that the girl was his late subordinate's sister. She was now under his guardian after her brother died.

As for Tylia, she felt it would be a waste of her time if she dwelled on the rumours. Tylia prioritised her studies and family. She trusted Chris would not disappoint her, as Aela and Wyatt constantly claimed.

Well, Chris was her saviour. Even though Chris was busy and contacted her less than his mom did, she understood that he was usually at the military camp or on a mission.

In Class 13A, Tylia paid close attention when the teacher explained a new topic. Most of the time, she would raise her hands to answer or inquire about the topic.

"Bring!!!" the school bell rang through the air. Mrs Garcia clapped her hand to gain the class's attention before wrapping the session. Students flooded through the corridor and proceeded to the canteen.

Tylia desk mate was Luna. Mia and Sophie sat beside them while Mark and Brian were behind them. Together, they went to the canteen. Tylia did not forget to bring along the bag that Sara had prepared.

As expected, she received many gifts and love letters, but this time, the gifts and letters were triple compared to last year.

"They're out of space!" Tylia frowned because her gifts didn't fit into the bag.

Luna exclaimed, "Maybe it's because of the rumours. They thought it would be their opportunity to gain your attention."

"Really? The impact of the rumours was this much?" Tylia pondered.

"Of course, they could sense your relationship was starting to be shaken," Mia added.

"But Chris makes it clear that there is nothing between them," Tylia said.

As her friends, they could sense that Tylia trusted her fiancé more than the gossip.

Brian turned his head and curiously asked Tylia, "How about the picture of your fiancé and that woman? They are hugging each other. Is that really nothing between them?"

That question made Tylia snap to silent. Mark elbowed Brian as he disapproved of his friend's etiquette.

"That was so mean, Brian," Mark said in his tone, carrying a severe warning. He made eye contact with Brian as he signaling him to 'saying something soothing' or 'fix your mess'.

Brian realised he had crossed the line and tried to fix what he had said earlier.

He said, "Tylia, don't dwell on that thing. I will check on that for you. You know I could ask my dad to do it."

Tylia shook and smiled. She said, "Never mind, I do not have to dwell on things like that."

Mark tried to change the topic, "So, you will be busier replying to those junks, huh?"

"Hey, it's not nice to say that. It's not junk. It is how they appreciate the beauty," Luna directly objected.

"Tylia, don't bother to reply to the letters," Sophie suggested.

"I need to. My grandma said I should be polite towards people kindness. Even if to reject someone," Tylia said.

Brian sighed and offered, "If you need a typewriter, just call me."

"We know your dad owned a media company. But Tylia preferred to write it down. It was classic and more sincere," Mia said.

Tylia giggled at their argument and said, "Nah, it would be all right. I would reply to them slowly."

After recess, Brian and Mark helped Tylia carry her gifts back to the class, including the letters she had placed in the bag.

When the school day ended, the students tidied up their classrooms before leaving. Tylia and her friends gathered in the school lobby near the main gate. For their safety, students were required to wait inside the school until their ride arrived.

As usual, Tylia waited for Jackson's driver to pick her up from school. One by one, her friends were fetched by their drivers, leaving her alone. Uncle Oliver was late today.

Mrs Garcia's car pulled nearby as the window slid down. "Tylia, is your driver on the way now?"

Tylia ran to Mrs Garcia's car. She bent her knee and answered, "Erm. I don't know. Also, I didn't bring my phone today."

Immediately, Mr Garcia offered her phone, and Tylia dialled her mansion fixed-line. As the line connected, Geoffrey answered, "Jackson's Mansion."

"Uncle Geo, this is Tylia. Uncle Oliver did not arrive yet," Tylia said.

"Oh, Ms Tylia. About that, Oliver was here. Earlier, Mr Logan informed me, he would be the one to pick you up from school. Has he not arrived yet?"

"No, Uncle Geo. Please call Uncle Logan. Tell him I left alone here. All my friends gone home already."

"I'd call him right away," Geoffrey said as he called Logan immediately.

Tylia returned Mrs Garcia's phone and thanked her teacher. She then returned to the lobby and waited another thirty minutes.

Tylia raised her head because of the sudden noise of the car roaring as it approached. Tylia could see through the non-tinted car window that a man was driving while smoking. The budget car brand pulled in front of her.

He slid the window as the lingering smoke escaped. He waved his hand to clear the view. Something caught his eye. Mesmerised by the beauty-like goddess before him, he muttered, "Oh my, how could Logan have a goddamn beauty niece?" He tried calling Tylia by her name but couldn't remember it.

He said, "Hey, your uncle has some emergency. I will send you home."

Tylia flinched, she was wondering whether this man was telling the truth, or he was a kidnapper who had appeared when she was alone. Vivid memories flowed to her mind when she was caught by a kidnapper back then at her house.

"But how did the guard let him enter? It must be using some trick to pass the guard," Tylia thought silently. So, she must be cautious this time. She didn't move inched or answer him.

The man thought Tylia could not hear him, so he unbuckled his seatbelt and stepped out of his car. Then, Tylia could see him clearly.

He wore a parka with a fur-hooded jacket, a plain T-shirt underneath, ripped jeans, and boots. His hair was messy, but he had neatly trimmed his beard. Even if he appeared casual, it was hard to hide his handsomeness and charm.

Tylia frowned and turned around to find someone nearby, but no one was there. Tylia became anxious and screamed, "Don't come!"

The man stopped his steps and asked, "Oh, why? We will be late if we do not move now." He lifted his hand and tapped his watch at Tylia.

Tylia hesitated but directedly asked, "Erm…did Uncle really send you? Can you give him a call? Erm… I just want to make sure."

The man just realised that she did not believe what he said earlier. He fished out his phone and unlocked it before giving it to Tylia.

Tylia could see Logan's name in the contact list and tapped to call, but there was no answer. She moved her finger through the screen as she scrolling the content. Indeed, that was her uncle called this man earlier.

Tylia said, "Do you mind if I use your phone? I need to call my home. Maybe they were worried by now."

The man nodded as Tylia swiftly called the fixed line. After making a call, Tylia returned his phone and thanked him. Then, she turned around and collected her belongings. The gift was so heavy. Tylia could not lift them. Earlier, Mark and Brian, who had helped her, brought all of them to the lobby.

Tylia turned to the man and awkwardly asked for help, "I'm sorry to trouble you again. Erm…would you mind lend me a hand?"

"Of course I won't mind," the man said as he lounged all the gifts into the car. After that, he kindly held the car door open for Tylia. A simple gesture could warm Tylia's heart.

As she slid into the car, Tylia noticed the low-cost model car was somewhat cramped yet tidy and well-kept. Tylia felt it was a pleasant environment despite its simplicity.
