Blood Nemesis

Chapter 207: Luna 2

The pill was literally a miracle cure. It was known to aid in healing almost all medical conditions.

After sending the pill into Luna's stomach, he waited patiently nearby.

The pill would have to dissolve, and the medicine had to seep through her body before he could see the effects.

Oliver closed his eyes and focused his mana sense.

The dissolving pill would release dense mana into her body.

Oliver was trying to feel it.

'I might have to wait a while.' He thought when he realised the pill was dissolving slowly within her.

So, to pass some time, he checked his phone.

Fortunately, it was late at night, and few people were walking around. He had plenty of time to waste.

As he was thinking, he checked his secure email for any new messages. There was nothing noteworthy within it except an email from Indra.

He smiled and opened the email.

[Who are you?]

He read the words displayed on the screen with a widening smile.

The PPT he sent, which included tables and charts detailing all the illegal activities M-fresh had engaged in, seemed to have given Indra many sleepless nights.

The email with the message- 'Who are you?' - was being sent into his inbox at least once a week, recently.

The thought that Indra is concerned about him thrilled Oliver. He happily looked at the message.

'Worried that I might have more information…Or I would reveal the info I have to the public, he is trying to find me.'

Oliver smirked.

'But tracking down a secure email is nigh impossible. That's why he was reaching out to me through this email.'

A few emails ago, Indra had even asked if Oliver was willing to stop if he paid money.

However, Oliver ignored all of it and kept reading.

As a professional in being annoying, he knew how to irritate his prey.

This time, too, Oliver clicked the read receipt option and just closed the app.

This way, Indra would know he was reading the email and was unwilling to respond.

"He he he…" He giggled, stashing the phone back into his pocket.

"Son of a b*tch. There will come a day when this daddy skin you alive." Oliver muttered silently.

As he was thinking, Oliver suddenly noticed a wave of mana spreading out of the young woman's body.

The pill had dissolved and was releasing mana. The majority of the mana was sticking to her, flowing gently through her body. But a few bits leaked out, creating an aura field around her.

Oliver sensed the aura field growing as the mana travelled through her body.

"That's not good. Someone might sense us."

Oliver immediately released a thin film of golden mana from his body to cover her.

The control he had on golden mana was abysmal without the armour. Still, he could prevent the leaking mana and aura from causing a disturbance.

This way, no one within the hospital would sense the oddity.

'I can't let others know that I have been here. Not yet, at least.'

Oliver thought and compressed the golden mana film around Luna.

Fortunately, the mana wave and aura were weak. He could easily subdue it.

Luna slept peacefully through it all as usual.

Like that, almost half an hour went by.

Throughout this period, Oliver noticed many changes happening to Luna's body.

For example, the first noticeable change was a shift in her aura.

Initially, Luna had a weak aura.

However, it began to grow stronger as the medicine took effect.

At the same time, her sunken eyes also filled up as the pill nourished her body. The tissues and cells that were once damaged were recovering quickly to their perfect condition.

The same would also be happening inside her brain, restoring her mind and consciousness.

Oliver deduced this and patiently waited as the vitality returned to the feeble body before him.

As seconds passed, Luna became even prettier. Momentarily, Oliver was mesmerised by her beauty, looking at her in a daze.

He shook his head to regain clarity.

"Ah! She is dangerous." Oliver commented silently.

"Well, I expected her to be peculiar."

There were two reasons why Oliver was saving Luna.

The first one was obviously because of Leon. Saving her would get him into the good books of the young man. This will further reinforce their relationship.

An S ranker with teleport ability was far too valuable to ignore.

The second reason was the circumstances in which Luna was injured.

As Oliver recalled the information he had obtained through Root after digging into her background, he realised that the demons had something to do with her injury.

For some odd reason, the demons wanted her dead. They had followed her and injured her when she was on a mission.

While it was impossible to guess why they wanted her dead, Oliver was sure she was important. There must be something that made the demons want to target her.

'Well, it's not surprising. The demons have targeted a lot of people. I know why they targeted her once she woke up.'

Oliver glanced at the sleeping beauty.

Her eyelids had begun to tremble at some point. She looked as though she was having a long, vivid dream.

'Nothing is a coincidence. The demons are well-organised and intelligent. They won't attack a weaker person like her for nothing.'

'Maybe she saw something she shouldn't have…'

'Perhaps, she was deemed a threat…or a future threat.'

'There were endless possibilities. But all that doesn't matter. I just have to do the exact opposite of what the demons want.'

'They tried to kill her, so I am going to save her.'

Oliver muttered and tightened his control over the golden mana.

As the time progressed, the aura around Luna intensified. Her body was undergoing a qualitative change due to the dragon core's energy.

Like Lin Hua, she might also improve her ability when she wakes up.

"If possible, I need to find more dragon cores," Oliver muttered.

At the same time, the young woman sleeping on the bed opened her eyes.
