Chapter 208: Luna 3
Two olive green orbs turned and glanced over to Oliver instantly.
Luna's eyes contained shock.
Oliver raised an eyebrow.
'This is going to be difficult.'
He could see the apprehension in her eyes. Any second now, she would scream.
Oliver couldn't allow that.
He stood up nonchalantly.
"Miss Luna, I am Oliver." He said and took a step forward.
Luna, not understanding what was happening, gazed at Oliver in fear.
The young man had an aura to him that made her shiver.
Like a prey caught between the thumbs of a predator, she gulped, swallowing the saliva that rose to her mouth, along with the herbal residue of the pill.
Instinctively, she wanted to call out for help.
So she opened her mouth.
Oliver was a step faster. He grabbed the pillow nearby and smothered her before she could let out a scream. He had no intention of killing her, and he also had no intention of letting her scream.
"Miss Luna, don't scream. Let me explain before you judge me. I am not a bad person." Said the ex-villain while smothering her with a pillow.
Luna would have to be stupid to believe that.
She tried to jump out of the bed and scream again.
However, she couldn't.
Though her body was overflowing with mana, she felt weak. She couldn't control it and move as usual.
So, she struggled for a while and gasped for breath.
Oliver was kind enough to notice that she was struggling and lifted the pillow a little.
That's when he noticed the teary-eyed woman look at him like he was some kind of serial killer or something.
Technically, he was.
But he was not going to admit it.
"Miss Luna, have you calmed down? Let me explain the situation first." Oliver scrunched his brows and said.
Luna nodded.
"Are you sure you won't scream?"
She nodded again.
She looked pitiful with teary eyes and flushed skin.
"Okay." Oliver nodded and slowly lifted the pillow he was using to cover her mouth.
"See. It was not that bad, right?" He added and pulled the chair towards him.
Then he calmly sat down as if everything that had happened before was an illusion and began to speak.
"This is a room in Unity Hospital. You were in a coma for over a year. I am your brother's friend, Oliver. I fed you a miracle pill made from dragon core and saved your life. You can thank me now."
Oliver was a polite fellow. But calling him humble would be a mistake. After smothering a disoriented coma patient, he was literally asking her to thank him.
"Coma!"
Luna widened her eyes. She looked around the room. Indeed, as Oliver said, she could see hospital equipment in the room.
She was wearing a hospital gown, lying on a bed.
Tilting her head slightly, she looked out the window.
Through the darkness of the night, she saw the piercing city lights.
They were a couple of floors above ground, in a building.
Everything matched what Oliver said.
Was he her brother's friend…a good person?
Luna wondered while looking at Oliver.
Her body was weak; she didn't even have the strength to sit up. In a daze, she asked.
"Is that true? I was in a coma!"
"Yeah, you were a vegetable for over a year. Don't worry, your brother takes good care of you. So, no roots have grown into the bed."
It would have been better if Oliver had stayed silent. Every word he said was worsening Luna's opinion of him.
Perhaps this was the exact reason that stopped him from having a proper girlfriend, besides being a villain.
"Here, have some water." Oliver saw the woman struggle and poured some water into a cup before offering it to her.
If you ignore his antisocial quirks, he was indeed a polite young man.
Luna struggled for a while and pushed her body up to sit.
Oliver slowly handed over the cup of water.
Luna thought twice and realised that she had no choice but to accept it.
She still had some apprehension about the unfamiliar young man sitting before her.
"Thank you." She drank the water and said.
"No, problem. Do you want more?" Oliver asked, taking the cup back.
"No."
Luna's hair fell over her shoulder to the front as she said that.
While she looked pretty like that, she also shared similarities with ghosts when she looked at Oliver, with her hair draped over her face.
"Anyway, how are you feeling. Can you breathe properly?"
"Yes." Yuna nodded.
"Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"
"No. But I feel weak."
"Hm… That's normal. After all, you have been in a coma for over a year. Once you have a nice meal, your strength will come back."
"Is that so…" She cutely tilted her head.
This older woman was charming, and Oliver was taken aback by her charm.
He avoided her eyes and quickly regained his train of thought.
There are important things he should discuss with her before he leaves.
"Miss Luna, I can call your brother here. But before that, you have to agree to two of my conditions." Oliver said.
"What!?" Luna nervously grasped the bed sheet.
She eyed Oliver in fear.
"NO. No no no…" Oliver quickly shook his head. "I am not that kind of person."
Oliver guessed that Luna's thoughts seemed to have taken a wrong turn and decided to explain.
"Because of certain situations, I want to hide certain information and need your help with something. Nothing more. I promise."
He was being as vague as he could before she agreed.
Luna finally began to see Oliver as a normal human after witnessing him panic. Although he initially seemed like a bad person, she realised that it might have been her misconception.
He was not as bad as she thought.
Now that she calmed down, Oliver indeed looked exceptional. He had a trained physique with rippling muscles and an overall pleasing appearance.
She quickly realised that the person before her was a superhuman, a strong one at that.
Even if she was at her full strength, it must not be easy to escape from a person like that.
'And he is my brother's friend. When did Leon have a friend like that?' She wondered.
"Mr Oliver, what do you want to hide?" She asked.
Honestly, just like Oliver, she also wanted to gather information to understand her circumstances.
And now, Oliver was her only option. So, she asked him to explain.
