Chapter 338: National Awakened League
"Clearing a purple-ranked dungeon? And becoming a streamer? Are you kidding me?" Daniel felt for a moment that he had misheard.
He had no problem with clearing dungeons, but a freaking purple-ranked dungeon? That's equivalent to an S-rank dungeon—how exactly was he supposed to clear something like that?
Sometimes it felt like people forgot he was actually mid B-rank, not S-rank.
And even putting all of that aside, becoming a streamer? While he didn't exactly dislike that kind of job, in his eyes it was no different from a real hassle and could waste a lot of his time.
"Calm down, let me explain…" Lana said with a smile, as if she had completely expected such a reaction.
"You're not going to enter a purple-ranked dungeon alone. People from eight different guilds are going, and even the Federation is sending several S-ranks."
"So you actually want me to lead our group in this dungeon?" Daniel asked.
"That's right. Because of that record you set, you're currently prominent enough among the Awakened in the guild. Besides, I've heard you're pretty good at showing off."
"Showing off? Who told you that?" He frowned. He didn't remember ever showing off in front of her or anyone else that much.
"That's not important. What matters is—do you accept or not?" Lana's expression turned serious.
"If that's how it is, I don't have a problem. With those S-ranks there, nothing should go wrong. So, which dungeon is it?" Daniel nodded.
"Mericia Island. It's a purple-ranked dungeon that's rumored to have Chaos Crystals inside. If possible, I want you to find those crystals too."
Daniel felt like he had heard the name of this dungeon before, and after thinking for a bit, he remembered. He had heard about it on the news—this purple-ranked dungeon had recently made a big stir.
At the moment, it was one of the hottest topics in the country. He could understand why Lana chose it—if they could perform better than any other guild there, they could dampen the impact of the news and rumors.
"No problem. When's the dungeon raid?"
"It should be in two months. Right now, the guilds are picking the people they want to send into it," Lana replied.
"Then why are you telling me now? I thought it was happening this week." Daniel raised his eyebrows slightly. Knowing this girl, it was unlikely she'd notify him so early for something like this.
"That's because I have another plan. I want you to become a streamer—in fact, I want you to become the best in that field." Lana said with a wide grin.
"Before you say anything, let me explain. Streamers have a lot of influence and power with the public. Once you become a streamer and manage to be the best, you'll definitely gain fans from all over the world. That way, our guild will also gain massive influence among the people."
"If I'm being unbiased, it's not a bad idea." Daniel thought for a moment. In fact, Lana wasn't wrong—her point was valid.
"Also, I don't want you to reveal your identity. I want you to operate as an anonymous streamer, and you don't need to say you've joined our guild yet."
"I see. So basically, you want me to go to that dungeon two months from now with the masked streamer identity and lead the group Everlight Moon sends?" It wasn't hard for him to see through this girl's plan.
Lana nodded in agreement.
"But why do you want me to hide my identity?" Daniel asked curiously. He didn't mind whether he hid it or not, but the fact that she specifically wanted him to hide it was a little strange to him.
"Actually, I want to protect you. With my plan, you'll be in the public eye a lot, and once people find out someone with your talent and extraordinary power has joined our guild, many forces in the country—and maybe even the region—will feel threatened and might try to assassinate you. I want you to at least keep your identity hidden until the NAL tournament is held." Lana explained.
"I see. But you even want me to participate in the NAL?" Daniel didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
It felt like his tasks and responsibilities were just piling up more and more.
"You don't like it? It's every Awakened's dream to participate in the NAL." Lana stared at him with slight confusion, as if she hadn't expected him to say something like that.
The NAL, short for the National Awakened League, was a type of competition on a national, international, and even global level, held among the Awakened.
It was something like sports or martial arts tournaments, but with way more fans.
"I just feel like it's too much trouble," Daniel said lazily. He didn't comment about becoming a streamer, since all he'd really need to do was record some of his adventures in the Celestial Domain and upload them.
However, the NAL was different—it required separate time and extra energy. Still, he completely understood this girl's aim—she wanted to turn him into a famous star and draw all attention toward their guild.
Revealing his real face and identity in the NAL was so that his image could attract even more fans. Plus, once he entered the NAL and was officially recognized, he'd be under protection, and even other guilds wouldn't dare try to assassinate him.
"So, what do you think? Do you accept?" Lana looked at him hopefully. As long as he agreed, her plan to make him one of the continent's and even the world's top figures could come true.
"No problem. Is there a better way?" Daniel agreed with a smile. After all, even he had plans to increase his fame one way or another.
Wasn't this the best way?
"Great! I'll make all the arrangements. Before you head into the Celestial Domain again, tell me so I can give you the equipment you need for streaming."
He nodded. They talked a bit more about it, and then Daniel stood up to leave. However, before he left the room, Lana suddenly said something.
"By the way, my sister has come out of seclusion and wants to see you."
