Chapter 337: The Guild's Situation Is Not Good

Daniel, after receiving the message, immediately put on his regular clothes and left the Celestial Domain.

As soon as he opened his eyes again, he found himself in the same room he had been in before.

He looked around — everything was exactly the same, not the slightest change. Without wasting time, he got up and headed for the elevator on this floor.

Before leaving, however, he had to check out and confirm that he had exited the Celestial Domain.

He placed his finger on the device located there, and after the confirmations were done, he went to Lana's office.

He knocked, and after receiving permission to enter, walked in. But the moment he entered, he noticed several middle-aged men and women were there, talking to Lana.

She nodded at him in greeting and gestured for him to wait a bit.

Daniel, as usual, just nodded back and stood in the corner, not interfering.

However, it was obvious their discussion was quite important, as all their faces looked serious.

Lana's expression wasn't simply serious — it even seemed somewhat grim and gloomy, as if something bad had happened.

Their conversation lasted a few minutes, and after that, those people said goodbye to both Lana and Daniel and left.

"Something happened?" Daniel stepped forward and sat down on the couch.

"Something? We've gotten into a lot of trouble. I didn't expect that bastard's attack could even affect our reputation," Lana grumbled.

From her face, it was clear that the stress and headaches she had endured over the past few days were pushing her to her limit.

The only thing she wanted now was to escape from here, enter the Celestial Domain, and go on an adventure.

"Instead of grumbling, just explain it directly so I can see if I can help or not."

"After the attack Kaelos carried out, our guild took the most damage. It's true we managed to rebuild the buildings, but we suffered casualties. Because of the extreme destruction, the number of casualties wasn't clear.

"We thought only a few of our staff had died and that ordinary citizens shouldn't have been harmed. However, it turned out to be the complete opposite of what we thought. We lost a large number of Awakened and staff members, and even many ordinary citizens were killed during that battle," Lana explained with a headache.

Daniel frowned. At that time, and even now, he wasn't that familiar with the guild or its staff, so he really had no idea how many people had died — he couldn't even make a guess.

That's why when Lana had said back then that fortunately not many had been killed, he didn't think much of it. But now that he thought about it… how was that possible?

After all, Everlight Moon was a very large guild — not just a simple building. It was an entire district made up of dozens of buildings, each with different responsibilities, and at least thousands of staff worked there.

And during that battle, all of them had been destroyed. Naturally, it wouldn't be easy to know exactly how many casualties there had been with so many staff.

But now that the report had arrived, the number was clearly large.

"Their deaths have caused huge damage both to the guild's structure and to our reputation. We fully paid their death compensations to their families, but for some strange reason, the media is heavily bolding this matter," Lana sighed.

"Bold? Exactly what are they saying? And what are they focusing on?"

"They're saying our guild has weakened and no longer deserves its position, things like that. The fact that my grandfather was also injured has made things far worse."

"I see. The only way to fix this is to show strength — nothing else will work," Daniel said after a moment of thought.

He could understand the intent behind these media moves — there were two possibilities:

Either it was the government's doing, or it was other guilds. They wanted to use this situation to weaken and eliminate one of their rivals.

The Sairon Blade guild had completely collapsed because of what Kaelos did, and now they wanted to bring the same fate to Everlight Moon.

"I know. But I don't know which bastard spread the rumor that my father was seriously injured and might die — it's made the situation even worse for us. No matter how much I've tried to shift public opinion, it hasn't worked," Lana said bitterly.

She had never felt so wretched in her life. Those damned bastards had suddenly targeted their guild, and it was obvious their goal was to destroy them.

She couldn't handle so many enemies at once. Her grandfather was in seclusion, and her father, due to an incident during his return, wasn't going to be back anytime soon.

"A rumor? Naturally, a baseless rumor shouldn't be able to do much, especially since news had already been released that they were returning safely," Daniel frowned.

"In reality, on their way back, they were targeted by one of the largest terrorist groups in the region. Now rumors are spreading that my father was injured during that attack. But I called him — he's fine. He just said it'll take a bit longer to return," she answered.

"It's obvious we've been targeted by a guild. If I had to guess, I'd say it's the Goblin Guild. Those bastards seem like the only ones with such power," he growled.

During the week of free time after the battle with Kaelos and the other national-level Awakened, he had done some research on the country's guilds.

One of the Goblin Guild's characteristics was that they had the greatest power and control over the media.

On top of that, they were also the only ones who had a real motive for being enemies with them.

"That thought crossed my mind too. But do you think we can do anything in our current situation? They control the media. You should see how much they're praising that old bastard for fighting Kaelos — they've basically turned him into a hero, even though he only showed up near the end of the battle," Lana said coldly.

Daniel didn't say anything, because if he had control over the media, he'd do the exact same thing.

In fact, from Lana's words alone, he had learned a lot about the Goblin Guild's old man.

It seemed he was also an ambitious man, and most likely intended to take control of the entire country.

"Do you have any ideas on what we should do? I mean… how exactly should we show strength? Because nothing but that will work."

The moment he asked this, a smile appeared on Lana's face — as if she had been waiting all along for him to say it.

"In fact, I have two very good ideas! But I need your help."

"So that's why you wanted me to come — you need my help again. Alright, tell me what I need to do," Daniel sighed. He didn't mind helping this guild.

After all, they had saved his and his family's lives, so helping them was the least he could do.

"Conquer a Purple Dungeon and become a streamer." Lana said with a straight and completely serious face.

"…?"
