Chapter 339: Visiting Family
Daniel got into his car and headed home. He wanted to visit Naya first, but it seemed that after leaving seclusion she was a bit tired and had gone to rest.
It made sense — after all, that girl had been in seclusion for quite a while, long enough that even he had gotten curious about why it was taking so long.
Most Awakened went into seclusion when they wanted to improve their understanding of the Law they cultivated, or to create a skill or something similar.
It was probably one of these reasons for her as well, but considering the type of class she had, Daniel wasn't entirely sure.
"What should I do about my blood? Give her a drop?" he murmured to himself.
He still hadn't forgotten that Naya had once requested a drop of his blood. At the time, since he wasn't yet familiar enough with his own blood, he refused.
And even now, he wasn't too sure. He knew his blood was normally no different from an ordinary person's blood and had no special use. But still, it could literally turn the beings he defeated into other creatures.
"I should be able to use the Law of Death to turn my blood into normal blood. That way there shouldn't be a problem giving her a drop… Besides, it doesn't really matter anymore. They already know about my power anyway."
After arriving at the villa, he parked his car in the garage and went inside. Naturally, his mother, Alice, and Tiana were happy to see him and hugged him.
However, it was obvious they had gotten somewhat used to his absence, and unlike before, they weren't sad or anything like that. It seemed more normal to them now — though they still felt happy seeing him.
They talked for a bit about what had happened while he was away. Alice and Tiana told him about their adventures, and his mother mentioned how she had made some new friends.
"So you two finally went to the Fallen Sun guild?" Daniel said as he took a sip of his tea.
During the eight days he was away, the two girls had finally gone to the Fallen Sun guild headquarters and completed their registrations.
There, they had to show their abilities again, and of course, their talents and powers shocked the entire guild.
Alice had even received offers from several of the guild's other swordsmen to become their disciple. But since she already had a master, she couldn't take another one.
Not that she was interested anyway — her master was the strongest swordswoman in the Fallen Sun guild and one of the best in the entire country. She wasn't stupid enough to give up such an opportunity.
Tiana, however, managed to find a female master who was also a mage, and apparently quite famous in the country as well.
"Brother, you should've seen the old guys' faces when they saw our power!" Alice laughed and said excitedly.
She knew the only reason she had managed to surprise the guild leaders was because of the training she had been doing all this time.
"I wouldn't expect anything less from my sister," Daniel chuckled, patting her head.
"What about you, Tiana?" he then turned to the other girl and asked.
"Didn't do anything special… just had a few practice fights with some other geniuses, and I won."
"That's great," Daniel said, patting her head too. He knew this girl wasn't the type to show off and wouldn't exaggerate her story like Alice did, but he was sure she had also shocked the Fallen Sun guild.
He then turned his attention to his mother, who was smiling warmly and happily watching the scene.
"Mom, you said you made some new friends. Who are they?"
"Well, a few other women like me. We go for walks together in the morning or go to the gym in the afternoons. They live in our neighborhood."
Daniel nodded, and they talked a bit more. He had been away for over eight days and there was plenty to talk about, though there wasn't any particularly surprising news.
Maybe the fact that his sister and Tiana had officially decided to attend the Awakened Academy in the capital — though it seemed this was more on their masters' recommendation.
Naturally, he didn't mind. As far as he was concerned, as long as the two girls could keep improving and protect themselves when he wasn't around, that was enough.
After their chat, it was time for dinner. Ever since their financial situation had improved, his mother had been cooking some of the most delicious and high-quality meals.
Tonight she had made a special kind of fried fish that Daniel had never seen before, but it was amazing — one of the best dishes he had ever eaten.
After dinner, the three youngsters went to the training room. Daniel wanted to give the girls their gifts.
"Brother, what's this?" Alice asked with curiosity as she looked at the star-shaped emblem in her hand.
He didn't answer right away. Instead, he first handed a ring to Tiana, and the latter looked like her heart was about to explode.
But when she saw that Daniel didn't say anything special, she let out a sigh of relief… though deep down, she still felt a slight sense of disappointment.
"Put that emblem in the middle of your chest," Daniel told Alice.
Alice did exactly as her brother instructed, and as soon as she placed the emblem on her chest, the star shone brightly and a beautiful feminine armor covered her whole body.
"You, put the ring on your finger," he then said to Tiana.
As soon as she wore the ring, she felt something strange. It was as if her connection to the four elements had been greatly strengthened, and she could sense them clearly — as if they were part of her.
No… it felt more like she was part of them. She could feel that now she could easily control them in any way she wished, as if she were the goddess of the elements.
An endless temptation of power flashed in her eyes, but she quickly suppressed it. The temptation of power wasn't something that could sway her.
"So what exactly are these things?" Alice took the opportunity to ask.
