Chapter Five: Blood Secret And Warnings.

Kai stares at the ringing phone. He remembers Merthur's warning, this was also a new phone, how would someone have his number already.

He has a feeling not to pick but out of curiosity he does. He slides the answer button.

"Hello", he whispered as the phone trembled in his hand.

He hears a calm and cold female voice from the phone.

"He found you already, and you are with him now, right?", she says calmly.

"Who is this?"

"If you want your sister to live, leave him". Then click the line drop dead.

Kai stares at his phone, puzzled. He called the number again but it wasn't going through like he had been blocked.

He paces in his room, feeling uncomfortable and keeps tugging at the collar around his neck.

"What's going on for goodness sake"

It was already late in the evening, Merthur is yet to be back. Kai had laid in bed sleeping all day, extremely bored. Merthur asked him not to leave his room but he was curious about this mansion.

He goes to the door, slowly opens it. He steps into the hallway, where different portraits of ancient vampires are lined one after the other, feeling their eerie eyes follow him.

Kai gets to a door, but it is locked. He remembers having a pin from one of the clothes earlier. He puts this into the keyhole.

The door opens, this looks like a library. Ancient books stacked on shelves, blood stained documents.

A large painting of a woman who looks surprisingly so much like Kai on the wall.

On the table was a journal, Kai was guessing this belonged to Merthur since it had his initials.

Flipping from pages to pages, he reads between lines.

"The blood of the True blood Omega is the only key to ending the curse…"

"The True blood Omega? Do they think I'm this?. I'm not even an Omega"

Kai hears footsteps. He was sure they were of Merthur.

"Pet, where are you?", He hears Merthur. Kai panics, and mistakenly knocks stuff from the table, everything making a loud crashing sound.

Merthur sprints into the room, sees Kai clutching to a journal.

"I…was bored..The painting on the wall. What are you hiding me, Merthur?"

Merthur's eyes flashes, ignoring Kai's questions.

"Why did you leave your room?"

"I…was…just", Kai stammered.

"SHUT UP!. GO BACK TO YOUR ROOM".

He grabbed Kai by the back of his neck. Pulling him back to his room as Kai struggles under his grip.

Tossing him towards the bed. His eyes flashing red, finger pointed at Kai.

"You are mine. Don't forget that, you don't get to snoop around the mansion or leave your room.

"Stop keeping around, I'm not even an Omega neither can cure your curse" Kai yells.

"I saw the picture of that woman", Kai whispers.

"You…you look like her", he muttered.

"Who?"

Merthur ignores, instead leans in to bite Kai's neck again, this time even harder drawing more blood.

As Merthur feeds, Kai's vision flashes. He sees memories that he never had. They weren't his but that of Merthur. .

In a dark room, the woman from the portrait whispered "I'm sorry, I love you.". Merthur kneeling in blood, screaming at the body of the lifeless woman in his hand.

Kai jerks, feeling the pain Merthur experienced in his vision.

Merthur suddenly stops. "You can see my memory?"

Kai, who is almost out of breath, nods weakly.

"What the f*ck are you?", Merthur asked but not expecting an answer

Then, a crashing sound downstairs. Merthur turns, his senses picked, growling.

"Stay here, don't come out no matter what", he goes out of the door, locking the door behind him.

Kai, weak and dizzy, slowly gets off the bed, crawls to the window to look down to the courtyard. He sees a vampire guard pinned to the wall with a dagger.

Blood dripped from the message written on the marble floor.

"Give us the Trueblood or it gets worse", Kai's eyes widened, tears trickling down his face. He suddenly tripped to the floor.
