Chapter Six: When Trouble Comes knocking.

Julian crotched down, his head in his hand. "Who knows I'm here?. Does this have to do with the Elder council." Questions kept running in his mind.

Kai tries moving to the door but trips instead. Feeling weak from Merthur feeding on him.

Ring….

He slowly drags his body to the table, grabbing the phone.

"Hello, just stop bothering me. I'm not want you want"

It was the cold female voice once again. "Actually being a Beta instead of an Omega is something I wasn't expecting. Do what is best for you and Nora and leave him alone"..

"Don't even think …", the line dropped.

Merthur enters the room, his hand filthy with blood.

He lifts Kai off the ground, placing him carefully on the bed.

He tucks him in bed.

"You should stay in bed, you are weak,my love", he says. Looking calm as ever.

"Who are they?. I'm getting weird calls, they might harm Nora", Kai is frantic.

"Calm down", Merthur strokes his hair.

"How can you tell me to calm down? You can be because you don't have anything to lose. I wouldn't forgive myself if anything happens to Nora"

He held Merthur's hand tightly, searching his face.

"You promised me you were going to protect her," Kai whispered.

Caesar grabs him tightly by the shoulder. "I will. I don't break my promises"

Merthur goes down to meet the robed council envoys. He meets them at the door.

"I don't remember inviting you here and I hate visitations", he glared at them. ..

"You can't take Kai away from me"

"We demand to test the Omega blood. It's better you hand him over to us immediately", said the envoy leader.

"You can't have him. My Kai is not a Omega but a Beta, y'all got everything wrong"

Everyone freezes hearing that.

"He might have lied at the auction. We still have to take him regardless, his blood is too powerful to be ignored."

If we have to take him by force if you resist".

"Never return here again", he slammed the door in their face

A scream from upstairs, it was Kai. Merthur was the door to Kai's door in a flash using his super speed.

He finds some vampires in the room. One was grabbing Kai by the arm, another trying to inject him with a glowing silver syringe.

Kai screams, trying to resist. Merthur goes after every vampire, in the most violent way ever. His eyes blazing red, fangs bared.

He slammed one vampire to the wall, snapping the neck. Reaping the hand of another.

"NOBODY TOUCHES HIM, OR YOU LOSE YOUR LIFE", Merthur roared, taking down every one of them.

Blood splashes across Kai's face. Kai was definitely horrified but was too weak to even leave the bed so he could only stay to witness the terrible site.

Everywhere was a mess covered with blood, dead vampire envoys laying on the ground.

Merthur stands in front of his bed in the middle of everything, covered in blood, eyes glowing red.

He smiles at Kai like he did just wipe out an envoy.

He walks over Kai. "It was fun, don't you think?", he smirks.

"Have you lost your mind, you f*cking monster."

"They would have taken your body apart trying to study your blood", he muttered.

"Why, I'm just a Beta", whispers Kai. "You happen to be a Beta with special blood. The prophecy might have mentioned an Omega but one thing was for sure, they would hold the most powerful blood"

"The prophecy can't be about me.",Kai said with his head in his hand running his hands through his hair.

Merthur's Jaws tightens, "Maybe the prophecy isn't about what you are but your blood"

"You are using me to keep yourself alive. You are not different from them, they also want to use me"

"I killed to protect you"

"That doesn't make you a hero", he murmured.

Kai phones ding.

Merthur grabs it. Open a message that has a photo attachment.

A photo with a girl laying on a hospital bed. ..

"What's that?. Let me see"

"I'm guessing this is your sister"

Kai takes the phone from him.

"Nora, they know about her. They might harm her"

A message was attached. "You have three days to leave him or she dies"

Kai hands tremble, breathing ragged. The phone falls out his hand to the ground.
