Apocalyptic Disasters: Carrying a bun and hoarding supplies

In the distance, in one of the skyscrapers, many of the ability users were standing inside a large meeting room. One of the ability users was using his telescopic ability and staring out of the window. He was staring at Bai Meiyue. And when she walked back to her home, he turned around and looked at Bai Feng before saying to him,

"Leader, it seems like Yu Miaomiao has no way to deal with these mutated bugs. But it seems like Bai Meiyue was not saying empty words when she said that she could destroy the base if she wanted to. I just saw her freezing more than three streets with her skills."

Bai Feng was pacing in the meeting room. When he heard the words of the ability user, he paused and raised his head. Somewhere in his heart, he heaved a sigh of relief. He was worried that Bai Meiyue and her family would be overwhelmed by these mutated bugs. Even though he knew that it was impossible for Bai Meiyue to be troubled by these mutated bugs, he still felt a bit nervous when he saw how powerful the destructive ability of these mutated bugs was.

Now that he knew that Bai Meiyue was fine, he was feeling more at ease in his heart. He said to the ability user, "Take a look and tell me if Lei Qian is back. I am afraid that with him gone, Yu Miaomiao will try to capture Bai Meiyue."

The man nodded and turned around. He raised his hands and placed them on his eyes before opening them. When he opened his eyes, they had turned amberish with golden hues. With ancient sigils circling around the rim of his eyes, he stared past the glasses of the windows and then said to Bai Feng, "I found him."

"Is he back?" Bai Feng asked.

"No. He is driving back, but the mutated bugs are too hard for him and his team to control. They don't have the same control as Bai Meiyue," replied the ability user with a frown. "With their pace, I think it will take them more than three hours to return."

"There is also the observation period, so I think we need to add another hour for that," chimed in a woman from the side.

"You are right about that; that will take him around two hours. So I guess four to five hours?" the ability user corrected himself.

He turned to look at Bai Feng, who seemed to be worried about Bai Meiyue. Though the ability user couldn't understand why Bai Feng was worried about Bai Meiyue and her family, he still said to him, "Don't think too much, leader; I think that Bai Meiyue will be able to hold on for that long. If she can destroy the entire base, then I believe that she can easily control these mutated bugs. I just saw her abilities. She was not boasting."

"And even if she can't, we can always go ahead and help her."

"And how do you think you are going to help her?" Lu Jingguo walked over and leaned on the edge of the window. He peered out and looked in the direction in which the man was looking. When he saw the small disturbance, he clicked his tongue. Indeed, it would take Lei Qian more than three hours to arrive. He said to the man with a gloomy expression, "Have you forgotten what Yu Miaomiao said to us? We cannot meddle in the affairs of the Bai family and Bai Meiyue. Even if we want to save them, we need to wait for Yu Miaomiao's orders. Of course, we can rush in to save Bai Meiyue and her family, but that will break Yu Miaomiao's trust in us. She will certainly not leave us alone if that happens." Not to mention their plan to kill her would also go down the slump if they did something like that.

They couldn't expose themselves like that. At least not yet.

To be honest, the more they thought about Yu Miaomiao's course of action, the more they were filled with disgust. The first appearance of the flesh-eating bugs happened so long ago. They died saving people, and yet Yu Miaomiao didn't respect them. Instead, she asked the families of these people to pack up and leave. This was all because they ignored her orders. One could see how ruthless this woman truly was.

Even the four trucks that she sent out had little to do with the rescue of Bai Meiyue.

She was backing the idea that with these flesh-eating bugs attacking the base again and again, Bai Meiyue would soon be overwhelmed. Even if she was strong, Bai Meiyue was still human. She still needed to eat and sleep. And as she was pregnant, she needed to sleep even more. From the pattern of the flesh-eating bugs, they would attack the base every one or half an hour.

With Bai Meiyue's strength, she could hold on for another three hours, but could she hold on for more than four hours? This was something that everyone was concerned about, including Bai Feng. Every ability user had a limited source of energy, and the more they used it, the faster it would deplete.

With Bai Meiyue using her ability to the max for the last few hours, could she even stand tall until Lei Qian returns? Even if her brothers were ability users, they were not as skilled as her when it came to dealing with these flesh-eating bugs.

One was close-range ability user, and the other was a shifter ability user. No matter how one looked at it, they were useless when it came to dealing with these flesh-eating bugs.
