Apocalyptic Disasters: Carrying a bun and hoarding supplies

When Chu Xia heard her daughter's response, her face turned stiff. Before coming to the base, she had been eager, even hoping to see Bai Feng die. She wanted to rub it in Mother Bai's face. The death of her son and how Bai Feng died were filial to her, but after hearing Bai Xue's response, she was terrified.

She wondered what Bai Meiyue would do to her if she ever found out that Bai Qingshi and she had stolen Bai Zhan's twin? Or that they had deliberately burned the side of his face when he was three and had a surgery done on him to hide his similarities with Bai Zhan?

If Bai Meiyue ever found out that Bai Feng was her biological brother instead of her half-brother and that they watched him die, she would skin them alive. No, she would torment them for days. Today, she killed more than ten people because they dared to raise their guns and threaten her unborn child.

There was no damage to her or her child, yet she didn't hesitate to kill those men. If Bai Meiyue ever found out the truth, Chu Xia shuddered in fright. Even the thought was enough to make her feel terrified.

Bai Xue nodded before saying a few words of comfort to her mother. Of course, the only reason she was worried about Chu Xia was that Bai Xue was afraid that if her mother fell ill, then she would have to use the crystal nuclei that she had earned to buy medicines for her mother.

She already earned a rather pathetic amount of crystal nuclei, and the medicines, including fever medicines, were really high. One pill costs more than twelve crystal nuclei. The price was simply exorbitant, but the truth was that there was nothing that they could do about it. The officials told them that this price was reasonable, and because of the lack of supplies, there was nothing that they could do about the sudden surge in price.

Bai Xue had been saving because she wanted to buy a red lipstick that she had seen in the store the last time she went shopping. The colour was really nice and would suit her fair skin, which meant that she needed to get it. Her parents couldn't do anything to help her; the least they could do was to make sure that they would not drag her down. She was not asking for a lot, right?

Chu Xia didn't know what Bai Xue was thinking about in her little head. She truly believed that Bai Xue was taking care of her. She nodded and patted Bai Xue on the head before saying to her, "I will go and take some rest. You should also go and eat something; I made some egg noodles for you."

When Bai Xue heard that her mother had prepared egg noodles for her, she curled her lips in disdain. Her mother had never cooked anything in her entire life. When she was young, she relied on hooking up with men and spending money in lavish restaurants, and when she married Bai Qingshi, Chu Xia didn't even have to move a finger.

Chu Xia turned and told everything to Bai Qingshi. By the time she was done speaking, Bai Qingshi was covered in sweat as beads of cold sweat started to roll down his spine. "She really killed fifteen people with one move?"

"Yes. Xue'er saw the corpses with her own eyes," replied Chu Xia with a worried look in her eyes. She glanced up at Bai Qingshi and said to him, "If she finds out the truth of what we have done, then she will kill us both. And she will do it in a really painful manner." This was something that Chu Xia knew.

When Bai Qingshi heard her words, he shuddered in fright. Because he knew that she was right. If Bai Meiyue found out the truth of the exchange, she would skin him alive and hang him upside down to bleed.
