Apocalypse: Transmigrated General’s Daughter Uses Space to Survive

Chapter 8: Chapter 8: Origin of the Chu Family

"By then I was already determined to follow in my grandfather's footsteps and become a great general like him. So I fought every war fiercely and won each one. At the age of fourteen, I was already leading troops to the battlefield alone and was called the 'Little General.' My grandfather retired and gave his title of general to his son, my father, but my father and I were stationed in different parts of the border. I guarded the Northern border while he was in the west."

"Until I was eighteen when the three surrounding kingdoms waged war on us after learning of my grandfather's retirement. I led troops to battle and died there. Even though I made sure we won the war before my death."

"I thought I was on my way to reincarnate but when I opened my eyes, I was in the hospital two days ago. At first, I thought I had possessed the body of a dead person until I processed everything and remembered the prophecy that the priestess prophesied when I was nine."

"I dismissed my situation as a possession since I have all the memories of both lives. My soul has also completely fused with the body, which is not possible without a soul-calming stone. It was only after doing research in the library in the space this afternoon that I understood what had happened. The other part of my missing soul is in this body and it was that part that guided me through time and space to get here. I am the Chu Yue of ancient times, and I am also the Chu Miao of the modern era. Do you understand now?" She asked as she filled another cup of tea and drank in one gulp.

"Daughter-in-law, do you remember when Bunny was nine years old, and she suddenly fainted in school, and doctors couldn't tell what was wrong with her? She was in a coma for seven days before she woke up and was as energetic as ever. As if nothing had happened?" Grandfather Chu suddenly said. When he finished talking, it was as if a gate had been opened; everyone connected the dots with Chu Yue's cultivation and incomplete soul theory.

"I remember Father, we even invited a Taoist priest who said the problem was not physical but with the soul, but he said she would be fine."

"Indeed, I remember that occurrence too. It scared everyone." It was Chu Mo who added.

"Bunny, you said the accident was an accident but also fate, what does that mean?" Chu Hao remembered this point.

"According to the records, the soul in a different time and space can only guide the other part if both bodies die at the same time. So, when I died on the battlefield in ancient times, I also died here after the car accident; it was the only way for the soul to leave the body for a short time and guide the other part so it could become complete and return to the body. It is only a short duration and the doctors may not even notice it, or I may flat line for a moment and stabilize the next."

"You said you are the reincarnation of the Chu Yue of ancient times, how did you determine that?" Grandpa asked.

"Because my part of the soul from ancient times will need a body with the same bloodline to be able to completely fuse. Also, I look exactly like I did back then. Not just me, Grandpa too."

"Are you saying Grandpa is the reincarnation of the great general in the Wuxin dynasty? But how is that possible?" Chu Hao interjected.

"Why is it impossible, if it can happen to me, it can happen to him too. It has been thousands of years since then, maybe he has gone through several cycles of reincarnation already."

"But how can we be sure? You are the only one with memories of the ancient times."

Chu Miao rolled her eyes at her brother for being dumb.

"It doesn't matter, I believe Bunny." Grandpa Chu said while Father Chu gave Chu Hao a slap on the back of his head.

"Don't contradict your sister with everything she says"

While they were bantering, Mother Chu started to cry, "I almost didn't see my baby girl again; if her soul had not been able to merge, what would I do?" She couldn't help it. Chu Miao said it so lightly, but she couldn't imagine her daughter experiencing death twice just to live again. It was torture for her.

Chu Miao moved next to her mother and hugged her. "It's okay mom, aren't I fine now? Don't cry, you won't be pretty if you cry."

Everyone was amused by her statement. It seemed like she didn't take it to heart at all.

Seeing everyone looking somber, Chu Miao decided to do something and brought out a sword from her space ring. It was a long and heavy sword with a dragon curved from a red ore and embedded on the hilt of the sword. This was her grandfather's sword in ancient times. He had fought and won many battles with it. He had given the sword to her after he retired and told her it would be her guide when she fought.

Everyone in the room felt a suffocating pressure the moment Chu Miao pulled out the sword. The oppressive aura weighed on their chests, making it difficult to breathe.

Chu Hao's voice trembled as he asked, "Where did you get that sword? And why is it so....oppressive?"

"This is Grandpa's sword. The 'Demon Slayer'. After his last battle and retirement, he gave it to me and told me it would be my guide when I go to war to slay enemies.

Aren't you doubting whether Grandpa is the reincarnation of the strongest general in the Wuxin dynasty? The sword can prove it.

This sword had followed Grandpa in so many battles and had his aura.

The aura is a soul imprint, so as long as it's him it will recognize him."

"But how can a sword prove someone's identity?" It was her father who asked with a frown and confusion etched on his face.
