Apocalypse: Transmigrated General’s Daughter Uses Space to Survive

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Origin of the Space Ring

With a blur of their vision, the family found themselves sitting on the grass in an unfamiliar environment. Grandpa Chu was still holding a cup of tea. Everyone looked around in shock, not understanding what had just happened. Grandpa Chu had seen a lot, after all, and was the first to come to his senses and ask.

"Bunny, what is this place and how did we get here?"

"This is my space. It is within me and I control it." After providing an answer, she took them out of the space again, and with another blur, they appeared in the study room again. Everyone was still in a state of shock as they couldn't imagine that the imaginative ideas found in fantasy novels could be real. A living human being can possess something like a space. Even though they were shocked, they had still seen the fruit trees, rice fields, and buildings.

"Darling, what is that space and how did you get it? Is it related to the accident?" Her mother couldn't help but ask.

"Yes, and does it have any connections to the articles you just showed us?" Her brother interjected.

"That is my personal space, and to answer your second question, Mom, yes and no."

"What do you mean?" Her father couldn't help but ask.

"Well… the space is actually a space ring. A family heirloom passed down generation after generation in the Chu family."

Her statement just confused everybody, especially grandfather Chu, since he knew nothing about such a family heirloom. How come he had never heard of it or even seen it?

"Bunny, I have never heard of or even seen such a ring." He decided to voice his thoughts. Everyone else nodded.

"I know grandpa, because it has always been with me. This is going to be complicated to explain but I will try to be simple."

"Okay, go ahead." Grandpa Chu said.

"The car accident, while an accident, it was also fate. It had to happen to the prophecy to be fulfilled."

After she said that, everyone in the room looked at her as though she had become a Catalan. And indeed, she sounded like one, so she decided to tell them everything, especially the prophecy and what she had found out in the book that afternoon.

"Thousands of years ago during the Wuxin dynasty, which for some reason is not recorded in history books, there was a great family known as the Chu family. It was a family of generals who protected the Wuxin Kingdom and fought bloody wars to secure peace. The space ring is the family heirloom of that general's family passed down for thousands of years, but it is picky, and after the ancestor who created it, it did not acknowledge any other descendant as its master, until me."

Everyone was even more confused now, but nobody interrupted and waited for her to finish.

"I was born in two spaces and times at the same time. Which simply means I was born in the Wuxin Kingdom during the Wuxin dynasty as the daughter of the general's mansion, but at the same time, I was also born here in modern times."

"To put it simply, I, as Chu Miao here, am the reincarnation of the Chu Yue born in ancient times in the Wuxin dynasty."

"The Wuxin dynasty is a dynasty of cultivation where the strong rule even above the emperor; of course, you also have to be stronger than the kingdom's protectors to consider disobeying the emperor."

"When I was nine years old I started cultivating, but then I got sick and fell into a coma for seven days. No matter what medicine I was given I didn't get better. Even the imperial doctors couldn't wake me up. Eventually, my grandfather, who was the country's great general, decided to invite the priestess of the kingdom to take a look at me. It was then that they found out that I was missing a part of my soul, and since I had started to cultivate and triggered my divine sense that would help to strengthen the soul, the problem of an incomplete soul occurred."

"Here, drink some tea." Chu Hao offered her a cup of tea since he saw that she had spoken for so long and her voice was starting to sound hoarse.

"Thanks, brother." She thanked him and drained the entire cup of tea before continuing with her story.

"The priestess performed a ceremony to temporarily stabilize my soul but said that I needed something that could help me to completely stabilize my soul if I were to continue cultivating. Otherwise, the burden on my incompetent soul would kill me prematurely."

"She also prophesied about something. She prophesied about my death and rebirth in a world on the brink of collapse as the only way to completely make me whole."

"I didn't understand what she meant at the time, but it seems my grandfather did. After I got better, he gave me the ring and told me it was a family heirloom passed down by our ancestors but had refused to recognize any descendant as its master, but if I could succeed, it would protect my soul and wouldn't have to worry about anything. When I dripped my blood on the ring, it was like a miracle as it acknowledged me as its master and contracted my soul."

"I found that I could cultivate at a faster speed in the ring and can store things without worrying about them spoiling. Grandpa told me not to tell anyone about the ring as it could cause bloodshed as it was different from other space rings. Anyone would want a treasure that can hasten their cultivation."

"So, apart from my grandfather, no one else knew about it. He also gave me another normal space ring to use as a cover so I wouldn't be discovered. Then he started training me like crazy. He doted on me a lot more than his other grandchildren, but he trained me until I collapsed every time. I didn't understand why, but he also made me follow him to the battlefield when I was twelve."
