Apocalypse: Transmigrated General’s Daughter Uses Space to Survive

Chapter 6: Chapter 6: The Meeting Starts

Chu Miao headed to the library as she wanted to read a certain book she had seen a long time ago. It was a book that talked about refining souls.

She had only read a small part of the book about how to counter and refine souls that tried to possess as a way of protection. But she wanted to see if she would find something to explain her situation.

She walked into the library and found the book easily. She spent the next three hours reading and finally found what she was looking for. Only after reading did she understand what the priestess had said about her soul not being complete and needing the other half for summoning.

She remembered it was because of this that her grandfather gave her the ancient space ring that was a family heirloom, and for some reason, it recognized her as its master when no one else had been able to do the same for generations.

Once she had the answer she was looking for, she didn't linger as she knew dinner would be served in less than two hours. She knew that with the information she had found and her space, her family would definitely believe her about the apocalypse.

Hence, she decided to spend the next two hours creating a list of the things they needed to buy to prepare and survive the apocalypse.

She took a notebook and a pen and started writing everything she could think of. First, it was food, all types of food, including different types of rice, flour, oil, condiments, corn flour, and other staples.

There was also a list of fruits and vegetables such as mushrooms, spinach, bok choy, cabbages, kale, and others.

There was also another list of different types of meat such as beef, pork, chicken, ducks, geese, and processed meat like sausages, bacon, and ham.

They also needed to stockpile on sauces and seasonings.

She also created a list of grains such as green beans, yellow beans, soya beans, and others. She only wrote a rough draft and her family will refine it later. She just wanted to give them an idea depending on what she had read in apocalyptic novels.

They also needed to move to higher ground, particularly the penthouse her grandfather had given her for her eighteenth birthday. It was built in a new community close to the city and the ground was higher in case of floods. The penthouse was on the twentieth floor, which is the top floor, and there were no neighbors. Each floor has one house, giving people privacy.

This was the best place to survive the apocalypse, especially in the early months. However, work should be done on it to make it more secure and prevent others from breaking in once things get bad and supplies become scarce.

Chu Miao made another list of survival gear, but she knew in this modern era, the best people to take care of this were her grandfather and brother. Her grandfather had served in the military for two years before retiring to join her father in the company. Her grandfather used to be a general and was still greatly respected in the country and had many connections.

By the time she was done with the list, it was almost time for dinner. She went into the bathroom to freshen up and headed downstairs. She found her father and brother had just gotten home and she rushed to welcome them and chat for a while before dinner.

Once dinner was over, the family of five regrouped in the study room. It was Chu Miao who suggested holding the meeting in the study because she knew that none of the servants would dare to get close and also, it was the best place to hold a secret meeting because the soundproofing was good and they didn't have to worry about eavesdropping or having their conversation recorded. She also knew that the butler would guard the place to prevent ignorant people from coming close.

The family sat in the resting area in the study which was used for tea breaks. It was grandfather who broke the silence.

"Okay Bunny, so what is the theme of this family meeting? Is it about your accident or something else?"

Chu Miao looked at everyone present and decided to show them the news articles she had collected first.

"Before I say anything, I want to show everyone something." She said as she picked up her phone and sent the articles to everyone. Their phones chimed at the same time and they picked up to read. Chu Miao knew her grandfather needed his glasses to read, so she got up and opened a drawer in the study desk and retrieved them, then gave them to him.

After about ten minutes everyone had already finished reading the articles.

"Even though I don't follow these things closely, I have indeed seen some news about the weather changes and animals becoming aggressive. Like the other day when it was reported that a dog doubled in size over a period of a few days and became aggressive, biting its owner." Chu Hao, Chu Miao's brother commented. But he then raised the question in everyone's mind.

"Bunny, why did you show us this news, and what does it have to do with today's meeting?"

Everyone nodded. Indeed, they didn't understand the connection, but her grandfather had already started to wonder if there was more to these issues than what was reported. An isolated case is fine, two could be a coincidence, but more than that becomes disturbing. And from the articles presented there were at least six cases. That is too much of a coincidence.

And one part of the world experiencing unreasonable weather, like places that have frozen for centuries, experiencing summer, is fine, but having almost every part of the world-changing weather is a different case.

"Before I explain, I want to show you something else." After she was done talking, she didn't wait for a response as, with a thought, she brought everyone into her space ring.
