Apocalypse: Transmigrated General’s Daughter Uses Space to Survive

Chapter 338: Being Watched

If this continued, normal survivors would have nothing to find even if they spend all their time scavenging.

The military was trying to accumulate as many supplies as possible so that they could have a way to feed the survivors once they joined the military bases.

In fact, they were not just collecting food, they were also collecting other supplies including clothes, blankets, shoes, mattresses, and especially daily necessities.

Medicine and other health-related supplies were also transported to the location of the bases and that included heavy equipment used in the ICU.

It looked like the government had finally come to their senses and decided that food and water weren't the only basics that people needed to survive the apocalypse.

The problem is that the more they collected, the less was left for the ordinary citizens, but no one was complaining.

Fu Nie upon hearing the question asked about the groceries, he remembered how they had to break the lock and felt lucky that in the wealthy neighborhood, people had not gone to empty the convenience store and supermarkets near them.

This was lucky because many wealthy families would have a lot of food in stock at any given time. Thus, when the apocalypse began, they didn't have to worry about food and water.

"I stumbled upon a locked supermarket in the suburbs. Because it has been locked from the beginning, even though water had flooded it and all supplies from the shelves swept to the ground when the water dried, the vacuum-packed products were still intact.

I just had to clean them a bit and remove the mud that had stuck to them.

However, everything else was okay.

We are going for a second trip with that truck you saw. There are still many supplies left including things like soap, shower gel, toothpaste, shampoos, conditioners, body cream, lotions, and many others.

Even though I am planning to leave some supplies behind for those who might stumble in that place later and be in urgent need, I have to take most of them.

And I am sure that on our second trip we will be followed by those who want to take advantage of us and gain something.

That's why I am taking both the truck and the other modified vehicle so that we can take as much as we can on this trip. What about you?" Fu Nie replied to Yang Leo and asked about his plans. Especially since he had brought back a whole truck of canned meat.

"I found a small distributor of canned and processed meat. There is still a lot left and just like you, I would have loved to take more on the second trip before others discover the place and everything is swept clean." Yang Leo lamented because unlike Fu Nie, he hadn't found a bigger vehicle like the truck that can accommodate more supplies.

"Why not wait for me to come back then we can go and collect what you found together. If you go there again with that small car, I can assure you that if you go there the third time, you will find nothing.

Others would have discovered that place and swept everything clean." Fu Nie felt that he had to advise his teammate and friend.

But Yang Leo didn't need such advice, he already knew what to do and what not to do.

"I will wait for you to come back then we can go there and get the canned meat before morning. So, you have to hurry." He said to Fu Nie who nodded his head and continued to unload his supplies.

What the few of them didn't know was that there were a few people watching them with different motives.

There was a spy hiding in a corner of a building a distance away who was watching their every move.

He had been instructed to find out what supplies they had brought back so that when the gang came to take them the following night, they knew what they were taking and how much of it was there.

There was also another person watching closely and who had even blended into the group of neighbors standing around watching the team unload and take their supplies upstairs to their houses.

Unlike the others who were spying on them so that they could steal from them, this man was different. He wanted to gain information about the location of the supplies so that he could follow them more easily and gain something even if it is the unwanted leftovers.

So, when he heard them talk about a second trip, he made up his mind to follow them.

He left and went back home to take an old motorcycle that he had rode for many years but was still in good condition.

He usually kept it in the house, which was why it had not drowned in the floods and spoiled.

Even though it was not as efficient as a car when it came to carrying many supplies, he could pack many things in a sack and tie it to the back of the motorcycle.

He could also carry more with a traveller's back pack.

Thus, he took the motorcycle out and had his wife look for two sacks and a huge backpack.

"You are not really going to join that group of robbers to steal from Building H are you?" His wife asked with concern.

"Of course not. Those people from Building H don't joke around. I still cherish my life. What will happen to you and the children if I get myself in trouble and get offed? I cannot risk that for a dream that has been painted so beautifully but is just an illusion."

He had no plans of joining those people, but he couldn't let his wife and children starve, so he was going to intervene.

So, he had been eavesdropping on the conversation between those team members and realized that he could collect some scraps to sustain his family if he follows them as they go back to collect the rest of the supplies.
