Apocalypse: Transmigrated General’s Daughter Uses Space to Survive

Chapter 336: Great Harvest

After the apocalypse, some of those people turned into zombies while others survived and gained superpowers but others remained ordinary.

With the small number of zombies walking around and how slow they were, the team concluded that the zombies there may lack resources to make themselves stronger.

Just like humans use crystal cores to enhance their superpowers, zombies must feed on human flesh or eat other zombies with special abilities or crystal cores to improve their own strength.

However, there seemed to be something wrong with the zombies in this community. In fact, some were still as sluggish as they were when zombies first appeared.

The zombies there could barely outrun a five-year-old which was surprising.

However, this worked in their favor as they got out of the car and chopped down the zombies that were approaching them due to the appealing smell of living humans.

After they had killed all the zombies near them, they drove the car to a small gas station that only had two pumps near the huge gate that led to the closed gated community ahead of them.

Fu Nie wondered if the gas station was still working.

"I wonder if the gasoline has been compromised and mixed with flood water." Fu Nie wondered out aloud.

"Why don't we look for something open like a bowl and pump some of the gasoline inside. We can judge its condition after that. However, I suggest that we find empty jerricans to fill with gasoline no matter how it is as I am sure it will become handy in the future." Another teammate suggested because he saw leaving the gasoline behind whether contaminated or not as an act of waste.

Fu Nie thought that it made sense and agreed to the suggestion.

"But where do we find empty cans to carry gasoline with?" Another teammate asked with concern because wherever he looked, everyone was coated in mud.

You couldn't even tell what was what in those circumstances. So, how were they supposed to find something to bring back gasoline in?

"Let's go check the supermarket first. There must be something we can use inside the supermarket that can hold gasoline or other liquids." Fu Nie made the decision.

He had followed Chu Miao a couple of times in supply hunting and he knew what to prioritize and what to do when faced with multiple choices.

"Okay, let's go check out the supermarket. Hopefully, there is something we can bring back home." Another soldier replied and the few drove towards the huge gate of the community.

Without stopping, the person driving the vehicle hit the gate and carried it for ten meters before it lay flat on the ground, completely unhinged from the pillar holding it in place.

However, the guy didn't stop and kept driving until they got to the entrance of the supermarket near the gate of the community.

The doors of the supermarket were intact and one wondered whether the community lacked survivors.

Since the zombies in this place moved so slowly, it would have been a walk in the park for humans to come out and collect supplies.

However, that was not the case here. The doors still had the lock in place making those who traveled a distance to this place wary and surprised.

Without wasting much time, everyone got out of the vehicle and a teammate took out a gun and fired a bullet into the lock, turning it useless.

With absolute care, the door was opened and luckily, there was no zombie inside. However, as the supermarket was only a three story building, it had been completely submerged underwater due to the flood and many things might have spoiled.

Without saying a word, they started to explore the situation first and found that although many stuff like rice and flour that had been packed in large sacks had been soaked through and were unusable, those packaged in plastic bags were in good condition.

Most of them were in five kilograms, two kilograms, one kilogram, and half kilogram packages.

There were different varieties of food stuff and other usable products in the small supermarket.

However, even though it was called small, it was still big because it served an entire community of wealthy people.

First, the group took a tour around the store and located many things but unfortunately, nothing had remained in its place on the shelves.

They were all scattered around the place and some piled on top of others.

Thus, they got to work and began to sort out what was usable and what was not. This was their fast supply run since the rain stopped. The last time they collected supplies they were diving under water and fighting mutated fish.

The few soldiers who had participated in those escapades wondered where the dish had gone after the rain stopped and water dried.

Without bothering about cleaning a place first, the five people piled the supplies they deemed usable on one side and divided them into different piles.

There was a pile of rice, wheat flour, rice flour, sugar, and many other things.

A quick search around the place also yielded five empty twenty liters bottles of water.

It looked like they had been used before the supermarket was closed permanently and the owner had no time to refill them.

Joy coated the faces of the people there as they knew that they had found something to carry some gasoline in.

It wasn't much but if they filled the five bottles, that would be a hundred liters of gasoline.

They also found some basins and bowls that could be used to fill and examine whether the gasoline was still usable.

After sorting out the supplies, the group started to carry what they deemed okay into the vehicle.

It took them over thirty minutes of going back and forth to fill the car and leave a small space for the gasoline.

Once they were done, they closed the door to make it look like it hadn't been opened in a long time then drove back to the gas station.
