When they got to the underground garage, it was pitch black due to lack of light.

They had to use large flash lights to locate what they were looking for.

Moreover, since this was part of the building that had not been cleaned yet, there were all kinds of debris and some cars were sunk in dried mud.

They soldiers wondered how cars that had been in water for so long and were still in mud could even be used.

The mud was scrapped off and they called for a few people to bring the water saved from other chores including washing clothes, washing dishes, and other chores that require the use of water.

Soon, the cars were clean and ready for use. Yang Leo was one of the people who had decided to go and search for supplies.

There were three groups of five people each. The rest of the people remained home and Yang Leo had them move up to the fifteenth floor where they would be inside the protective barrier Chu Miao had created just in case something happened while they were gone.

The people who stayed behind included the elderly like Yang Leo's parents, Mr. Fang and others.

When they drove out of the community, they were surprised by how empty the streets were. There were some groups of humans out searching for supplies in shops and grocery stores.

Although not much could be found, the vacuum-packed meals and snacks that hadn't been ruined by the floods became a treasure.

Moreover, people were starting to starve due to lack of food, so anything edible was becoming a treasure.

Some lucky ones managed to dig canned food such as beans, fish, corn, and even meat from the mud. Those who got such foods were having a treat after being hungry or not getting any protein for months.

Other lucky ones who were searching for supplies near infant-related shops even got formula milk powder which could be traded for rice or other types of food.

However, Yang Leo and his teammates weren't searching blindly. They had specific targets and every group had to try and bring back as much as possible on the first trip to avoid fighting over supplies with others after they realised that they could go out and scavenge.

Their targets were supermarkets located inside the wealthy neighborhoods. Even though they would still have most of their stuff contaminated, the quality of the products sold in such supermarkets was better than others.

Thus, the packaging would also be of higher quality and many products would survive. That was the best place to get stuff that was still in good condition.
