Apocalypse: Transmigrated General’s Daughter Uses Space to Survive

Chapter 284: Raiding Offices

Since they didn't want to waste time fighting with the zombie, the soldiers opened fire and shot at the zombie that was standing at the end of the corridor. One two people aimed at its head and the others focused on other areas, probably to confuse it.

Within a few seconds, the zombie was lying on the floor, dead. They were now more cautious and scanned to remaining floors that were above water before proceeding.

It seemed that the zombie earlier had feasted on the rest to get so strong. There were skeletons in various rooms, which meant that there had been other people or zombies in the building but had been eaten.

In fact, the group had planned to test how to use their cultivation in a fight and such a powerful zombie would have been a good whetstone. However, after coming across Mu Nan, they had to hurry back and go home earlier.

He was too weak and could not be exposed to the cold of the night. Even though it was raining nonstop for almost three weeks now, there was still a difference between the temperature during the day and at night.

The day temperature was still a little high and bearable but at night, the temperature dropped to one digit. This was not a temperature a sick and weak patient like Mu Nan could endure.

So, they had to hurry and collect what they needed so that they could go back home. Moreover, even though no one mentioned it, they were hoping that if they went back earlier, they might find that Chu Miao's mother had not gone into seclusion yet and might be able to help with healing Mu Nan.

Therefore, when they entered Yang Leo's office, they didn't bother sorting out anything and just took everything in sight. He could separate what was useful and what wasn't later on.

Coming out of Yang Leo's office, the group raided the other offices and collected everything they found. Whether it was just papers lying on the desk or journals in drawers, they were all taken.

They even took away a few safes, which they assumed contained important materials for the research the people who owned the offices were conducting.

Once they were done with the administration building, they were planning to go back and get Mu Nan and Jing Xian to go home, but Murong Yi felt that there might be some useful things in the dormitory buildings they had not managed to clear the last time they were there.

The other cafeterias had no hope since they were all submerged. When they had started training with the Chu family, they had come to the university for a couple of days and managed to save some survivors.

They had only managed to take supplies in one cafeteria. Of course, a huge campus like University A couldn't serve all their students in one cafeteria. Some people would never be able to eat otherwise.

However, at the time, they had only thought of raiding the cafeteria that was close to where they were operating. Now that he thought about it, they had wasted many resources. If no one else had come to clear out the food there, then all the supplies had been submerged in the water in vain.

Thinking of this, he didn't want to have any more regrets, so he suggested checking the other buildings to see if they would find something. The others had no objections, however, Gu Fan suggested Yang Leo go back to stay with Mu Nan.

Yang Leo was self aware and knew that he was slowing the few of them down, so he agreed immediately. Thus, after taking Yang Leo back to the laboratory building, the others set off to explore the rest of the buildings.

If there were classes that had not been flooded completely yet, they went inside and took the tables and chairs. Nothing was spared, no matter how trivial it seemed to be.

The dormitories had more zombies and there was not a single survivor. It looked like when the government came to rescue people, many had already turned into zombies already.

However, this was not a challenge as the guns in their hands were still lethal when it came to killing regular zombies. Even evolved zombies, as long as they were not too strong, they could still have their heads exploded by bullets.

In this way, every building the group entered was left with a trail of bodies and brain matter scattered on the ground. They did not forget to collect the crystal cores because this was their ticket to a higher level of superpower.

Even with motor boats and cultivation, the group found that it was taking them long to clean up the buildings. Hence, Lei Ying suggested splitting into two groups so that they could move faster.

The idea was received well and the few split up. Gu Fan went along with Li Kun, and the other three were in the same group. Since they all had space rings, they didn't have to worry about the issue of carrying the supplies they found.

Becoming two groups indeed lessened their burden and they were able to collect supplies including books, snacks, beds, chairs, tables, and other furniture within two hours.

Once they were all done, they headed back to the library to reunite with Jing Xian and the others.

"Are you done?" Jing Xian asked as soon as he saw his brothers come in through the door.

"Yes, everything is taken care of. The patient should eat something before we leave. He should probably change his clothes too." Lei Ying replied to his comrade and proceeded to walk over to him and sat down.

Seeing as he was the only one who could reveal his space, Li Kun headed to the table and placed a bowl of still warm soup on the table. Actually, the soup was more hot than warm, it was just that when he compared his space to Chu Hao's which could keep things hotter for longer, he despised his own space.
