Apocalypse: Transmigrated General’s Daughter Uses Space to Survive

Chapter 280: A Human, Zombie, or Ghost?

"We will go with Yang Leo since he is the one with the knowledge of what we are going to bring back. Be sure to protect him. It is also an opportunity for us to test our cultivation and practice how it works." Gu Fan continued when everyone else came back.

"Yes sir." the others replied in unison and gave him a standard military salute.

The group headed outside and went to meet up with Yang Leo on the fifth floor. The fourth floor was already flooded because water had already risen past the window.

They had a few motor boats, which Li Kun had put in his space. Thus, he took two of them out. This way, there could be three or four people in one boat.

Even though the others had received the space rings Ye Xuan gave them, they didn't plan on exposing them. After all, cultivation still had to stay a secret for the time being otherwise it might bring trouble to them and their sect later on.

Thus, only Li Kun, who was already publicly known for having a space power, needed to carry everything for them. He even took out guns and gave everyone a gun, except for Yang Leo who said he didn't need it.

He was carrying a weapon he had gotten used to and felt that it was the best option for him instead of carrying guns he had no experience with.

The boats left the community ... .well, it couldn't really be said to be a community anymore since almost everything that defined it, except for the tall buildings, was buried under water.

The journey to the university was quite smooth, mostly because they were in military gear and the guns they carried were quite visible. The petty robbers who had been terrorizing people when they went out to collect supplies didn't dare to go near them, let alone rob them.

Their appearance had actually saved a few groups of people who would have been robbed blind if not for the deeply ingrained fear of military men in people, especially criminals.

The robbers on their route didn't know how long they would be gone before they passed there again or if they had gone far to begin with. With this complicated fear of the unknown, the people who had almost been robbed managed to pass by and went home with their supplies.

Gu Fan had no idea that there were robbers running rampant around, but Yang Leo had a pretty good idea since they had almost been robbed before. It was the first time he had witnessed Chu Miao and Ye Xuan's power.

He still remembered how those robbers had died leaving behind nothing.

University A wasn't that far, especially since they were using an engine motor boat.

They arrived at the school in less than an hour and headed straight to the physics school following directions provided by Yang Leo. The school, just as Yang Leo had feared, was flooded to the fifth floor.

In fact, it was quite obvious that if the rain went on for another night, the sixth floor would be under water as well.

"I guess it's a good thing we came today, tomorrow would have been an impossibility." Lei Ying muttered as he went up to break a window on the sixth floor so that they could get into the building.

"You are right. It's a good thing the boss didn't think of giving us this mission after he came out of seclusion, otherwise it would have been a total failure." Li Kun agreed with his brother on that point.

After everyone had entered the building, Li Kun put away the boats and followed the others inside.

Even though they were confident in their strength, the few soldiers still followed their training and stayed vigilant. They observed their surroundings to make sure that there was no danger of ambush.

It was at that point that Murong remembered how Ye Xuan had taught them how to use divine sense to monitor their surroundings.

He used his divine sense to scan the entire building, even the area submerged in water to see if there were any threats or survivors and indeed, he found something.

It was just that, he was confused whether what he was seeing was a human, a zombie, or a ghost.

"The eighth floor." He said without elaborating, but the others understood his intentions.

Belatedly, they also remembered the use of divine sense and used it to scan the eighth floor mentioned.

They also saw what Murong had seen as well and were just as confused as him. They didn't know whether to go and check out what that thing was or just ignore it.

"Let's go take a look. If It's a survivor, we can save them, if it's a zombie, just kill it." Jian Xian suggested before taking the lead to climb the stairs.

The others had no choice than to follow behind him. Yang Leo was the only one who had not seen what the others saw but he didn't ask any questions and just followed them.

The group soon found themselves on the eighth floor, and they became more cautious. They didn't know if they were facing an advanced zombie or not. Therefore, they had to be careful.

Yang Leo was placed between them for protection as they approached the room where the person they had seen was.

When the door was pushed open, a loud gasp came from Yang Leo. He looked at the person who was leaning on a chair in the room that had served as a temporary lounge and felt his nose turn sour.

It was difficult to tell that the person leaning there was a human being. He was so thin that only skin and bones were left. Moreover, he looked like he didn't even have the strength to move a finger, even though one could tell that he was still alive, barely.

"Do you know him?" When Gu Fan heard the gasp from Yang Leo, he figured that the two people knew each other.
