Chapter 44: No moral
Such situations happened once, then twice, then a dozen times, enhancing the group's strength.
Occasionally, they took a group of humans they found. When expenses went into the red to supply themselves with magical and energetic equipment, mainly armor and weapons, they attacked a small group. They killed the strongest leader, Sengrar stealing most of the energy. Then, they rested for a few days, enough to consolidate their energy.
Their tactic had become so evident that no one dared to leave before them.
Thus, they entered the portals first and lay in wait.
A gathering of humans was present, surveying the surroundings.
"It's been a while since we've seen groups of humans and goblins from the other world," one said. "Did the army kill them? I heard they were lingering nearby."
"Yes, but their leader is a psychopath. Hours have passed since they were massacred. They make no distinction, they don't ask questions, they kill at will, and they take pleasure in it," one said. They were beneath a small cave, looking out into the outside world through a small sewer bar.
A large proportion of food was next to them. The man looked through the bars, bored.
A stone passed through the bars. The man shivered. "What was that?" He quickly scanned with his eyes and saw that the stone was a flash grenade. The man covered his eyes with his hands, crying out.
The closed wooden door from inside was pounded and cracked. A few men came and pinned them to the ground before tying them up. When the man regained his sight, they saw earthlings like them dressed as invaders, with goblins speaking in their languages.
"What do we do with them?"
"Well, the classic, right?"
"We don't have many people left," said Rargnes and RedStar. The group nodded. "Tie them all up."
They took the ropes from their waists and iron cuffs to shackle them to bars.
"What are you going to do to us?" asked a man before being gagged.
"Well. It's better when he doesn't talk anyway."
"Why are you doing this?" someone asked, crying.
"Because we feel like it, and we can do it!" laughed Truckdriver. "And what are you going to do?"
"But what's the point?"
"Don't worry, you'll have your use."
"A powerful group is arriving at the portals. They're checking the radar," said RedStar on the radio.
"What positions are they heading to?"
"They are in hiding 5. I'm keeping an eye on them, and I'll join you. Can someone confirm for me?"
"Confirmed," said Yurs.
"We're on our way here." Said Noah.
The group of a dozen invaders arrived and saw a broken gate. When they passed through, they saw people tied up. A look of confusion appeared on their faces before arrows and spells cut through the air and pierced them.
"Enemy attack! It's a trap!" he shouted.
"Run! It's the psychopaths!"
Most of them, terrified, covered their heads in fear. Their reputation preceded them.
"We'll kill all those who resist!" Sengrar yelled.
The leader charged with his shield on, followed by his faithful men, arrows lodging in their shields. As he rushed out of the cave, the light blinded him, and once his sight returned, arrows were already coming from his left and right sight under the expressionless eyes of Yurs and the excited eyes of Truckdriver, both wearing enhanced crossbows.
An arrow pierced his stomach, and he screamed in pain before continuing his charge, his axe rose high in his hand, ready to smash on a newcomer.
A fire spell hit him in the face, and he fell. His axe stopped abruptly in the air and then fell with his body.
Sengrar finished those on the ground himself, leaving some for his men.
Afterward, the group members tied up those who hadn't resisted, and they protected Sengrar while he positioned himself to absorb the energy most effectively.
A smile appeared on his face. He struck the ground, and a fracture appeared. With a single sword strike, the ground cut clean, like butter.
"Wow, you're so strong," said Rargnes. "The noble will die for sure."
Sengrar laughed.
"It's a magic weapon! Come with us next time! We'll show you the shop!"
