Chapter 35 - Wronged (2)
An Yun woke up on the fifth day after fainting.
When he woke up, An Yun still couldn’t see things clearly. He blinked his eyes and felt that his eyes were extremely dry, followed by the soreness and pain all over his body, which made him feel extremely uncomfortable.
An Yun twisted his head and realized that he was not in his modern home, nor in some underworld, but in the Zang Mansion where he had lived after traveling through time.
It turned out that he had been rescued after all.
Thinking of the inexplicable beating he had received and the heartbreaking pain he felt at that time, it was clearly an unforeseen disaster.
An Yun first felt angry, angry at why his life was so easily controlled by others. Then there was another burst of powerlessness. When he came here, with such an identity, what right did he have to complain about his fate? In the end, there was a feeling of grievance. He obviously didn’t have to suffer such pain, and he could have had a new life soon. Although the new life might not have been satisfactory, it was something he had struggled to live for more than ten years. Yet, all of a sudden, everything was taken away from him.
An Yun felt extremely wronged, and because of his fragile body, he couldn’t hold himself together any longer, and tears rolled down from the corners of his eyes like broken beads.
A low sob came, and the maid guarding outside heard it with the tips of her ears.
The thin curtains were opened, and then a maid in a pink dress appeared in front of An Yun.
The little maid was a bit surprised when she saw An Yun awake, but she was stunned for a moment when she noticed he seemed to be crying. Immediately, she turned around and ran outside, shouting as she ran, “He’s awake, he’s awake! An Fulang is awake!”
Although the gauze curtain was thin, it still blocked some light.
As soon as it was opened, the light shone in without restraint and stung An Yun’s eyes.
An Yun, irritated by the light, began to shed even more tears. After the little maid ran away with her skirt, he felt a bit uncomfortable and wondered if his current appearance was so ugly that it had scared the little maid.
The old woman was so cruel to him and hated him so much that An Yun felt the chance of him being disfigured was even greater. Thinking of his disfigurement, he worried that the Zang family’s father and son, who seemed to care about his appearance, would not be able to keep him and would definitely throw him out to fend for himself. An Yun suddenly felt even sadder and cried harder.
An Yun even wondered why they had bothered tossing him back and forth, thinking it would have been better if they had just left him outside to fend for himself from the beginning, which would have been a easier ending.
So, when Zang Ya came over, what he saw was An Yun crying with tears in his eyes.
Due to successive illnesses, An Yun’s originally small face looked even more fragile. With tears in the corners of his eyes and reddened eyelids, he appeared extremely pitiful.
Zang Ya was puzzled, but instinctively felt a little uncomfortable, so he asked, “Why are you crying?”
An Yun was not a sentimental person; otherwise, he wouldn’t have climbed up step by step from being an orphan in a poor area’s orphanage, from the worst elementary school to the next-level junior high school, to the best high school, and finally to a well-known university.
There had been many times of discomfort and embarrassment, but An Yun gritted his teeth and persevered. However, this time, he really felt too sad. He had worked so hard and suffered so much. Why, after all that effort, could everyone still step on him and decide his life or death at will? As a result, all the emotions accumulated together, making An Yun cry so much that he forgot himself.
Hearing the doubtful sound coming from the side, An Yun was suddenly startled and let out a small burp. He turned his head toward the source of the sound and saw Zang Ya, who had appeared at some point and was standing at the head of the bed. Zang Ya looked down at him with a bit of doubt in his eyes, wondering why he was crying so miserably.
An Yun was shocked and forgot to cry for a moment. He could only stare at him blankly, and then a bit of embarrassment quickly appeared on his face. But he was crying so hard just now that he couldn’t stop the tears. At that moment, there were still a few tears sliding down the corners of his eyes.
Zang Ya was silent for a while and finally took out a handkerchief from his sleeve and wiped An Yun’s face clumsily but intently.
An Yun felt that it was probably Zang Ya’s first time doing such a thing. Although the movements were careful, the pressure was too great, which made his cheeks hurt, causing him to stop crying. But Zang Ya had good intentions, and he couldn’t say that he was too rough and hurt him; otherwise, he would seem ungrateful.
An Yun looked up at Zang Ya in front of him and suddenly remembered that the last thing he saw before he fainted that day was Zang Ya, so it must have been Zang Ya who saved him. Thinking of this, although An Yun was still a little sad, he knew he couldn’t lose his manners, so he struggled to sit up, intending to thank Zang Ya.
Zang Ya held him down and immediately said, “Don’t move.”
An Yun stopped moving, not because he was obedient, but because he realized he couldn’t struggle at all under Zang Ya’s hands.
Zang Ya held him in place and tossed aside the handkerchief stained with An Yun’s tears and snot, showing a bit of disgust in his movements. Then, Zang Ya used his free hand to gently pinch the flesh on the side of An Yun’s cheek and said to him, “What you need to do now is to take good care of your body. Don’t worry, I won’t let anyone touch you again.”
After all this trouble, his originally well-nourished and somewhat charming little pet had now become skinny and lacking in flesh, which was really disappointing.
Thinking this, Zang Ya squeezed his cheek again to confirm that the feeling was indeed unsatisfactory.
An Yun was slow to react at that moment. It wasn’t until Zang Ya finished squeezing and called the maid to serve him that he realized his face seemed to hurt a little. He even wondered if it was swollen.
An Yun stared at Zang Ya’s departing figure with a hint of accusation in his eyes. He didn’t understand what was wrong with the young master of the Zang family. Although he was grateful to him and didn’t mind being pinched a few times, it was still inappropriate for him to be so rough!
