After Dressing Up As a Little Fulang

Chapter 35 - Wronged (1)

The next day, Zang Ya woke up at dawn.

When he got up, he first took a look at the surrounding furnishings and realized he was in a room in the Zang mansion. Only then did he remember that he had returned yesterday.

Qing Yue, who had been waiting outside for a long time, heard the slight noise coming from inside. She gently knocked on the door, making a small sound that was just enough for those inside to hear, but not loud enough to wake anyone. It was a test to see if Zang Ya was truly awake.

Zang Ya raised his head and glanced at the door, saying bluntly, “Come in!”

As soon as he finished speaking, Qing Yue gently opened the door and walked in, followed by the young maids who had come to serve Zang Ya.

The group filed in quietly, their footsteps light and making no strange noise.

The maid in front of Qing Yue quickly pulled back the curtain with swift hands. Qing Yue then led the maids through the light green curtain and approached Zang Ya to help him get dressed. Because Zang Ya was still injured, Qing Yue chose a loose navy-blue shirt for him, which was suitable for easy movement.

In less than two quarters of an hour, Qing Yue and the maids had helped Zang Ya dress and wash up.

By this time, breakfast had also been brought over from the kitchen, perfectly warm and ready to eat.

Zang Ya looked at the food on the dining table. Instead of his usual favourite cold noodles, there was light meat porridge, meat buns, side dishes, and even a small cup of black-bone chicken stewed with red dates.

Zang Ya turned his head and glanced at Qing Yue next to him.

Qing Yue met her master’s gaze, her expression unchanged, and said gently, “Young master, you’re injured. It will heal faster if you eat these things. If the cold noodles aren’t spicy, they lose a bit of their flavour. It might be better to wait until you’re better to enjoy them again.”

Zang Ya narrowed his eyes slightly and stared at the breakfast in front of him, but in the end, he didn’t say anything.

Qing Yue noticed that her young master did not respond, understanding that he had silently agreed, and she breathed a sigh of relief.

After Zang Ya finished breakfast, Qing Yue began to inform him of various recent affairs without waiting for him to ask.

“Yesterday, I took the servants to clean up a room next door and arranged it according to your preferences. It can be moved into at any time. This morning, I also sent someone to check on An Fulang. Although he hasn’t woken up yet, he doesn’t have a fever, and the doctor said that An Fulang’s health is gradually improving.”

Zang Ya nodded after hearing this, then raised his eyes to look at Qing Yue again, seemingly asking casually, “Why were you so panicked when I came back yesterday?”

Qing Yue was startled, looked up at Zang Ya, and pursed her lips. Finally, she chose to tell the truth. The young master didn’t like being lied to. “At that time, I heard about the old lady taking An Fulang away, and I wanted to ask Mrs. You for help, but she refused. So, I thought about using your token to plead with the old lady, knowing that this was an overstep. That’s why I looked so worried.”

What Qing Yue didn’t mention was that when she learned about An Yun being taken away by the old lady, she had a bad feeling. However, as a servant, she knew her place. While she could earn some favour with Zang Ya, she had no real standing before Old Madam Zang. Feeling anxious and worried, Qing Yue had decided to seek help from Mrs. You.

Although Qing Yue knew that Mrs. You were usually indifferent to the young master, she hadn’t realized just how detached she truly was, with no apparent affection for her only son.

When Qing Yue went to Mrs. You’s yard and explained her purpose, the lady, who was still beautiful and as youthful as a twenty-eight-year-old, glanced at her coolly. Her words were as cold as ice, “What do his affairs have to do with me? Don’t bother me with his matters again. I don’t care, and I don’t want to know.”

The words were extremely cold, even filled with disdain, as if the subject of her disdain wasn’t her own son, but something repulsive.

Qing Yue was stunned. She had never been in contact with Madam alone and could never have anticipated such a response.

After that, Qing Yue was unceremoniously kicked out by the people around Mrs. You.

Qing Yue didn’t feel any embarrassment at that time. After all, it wasn’t an emotion that servants like them were qualified to have, and she was only thinking about saving An Fulang. But now that she had told Zang Ya about the matter, she felt a bit more worried. She was concerned about how she should respond if the young master questioned her closely and whether she should answer truthfully.

After answering, if the young master felt sad, what should she do?

After all, the young master looked mature, but he was still a teenager, still longing for the care of his parents.

After Zang Ya heard this, he didn’t ask any more questions. He just said to her, “I understand. I’m going out for a while. You go and move my things to the next door. Starting this afternoon, I will be living there.”

After Qing Yue breathed a sigh of relief, she felt more and more that the young master paid too much attention to An Fulang. He didn’t even ask about the madam’s affairs and directly made arrangements for An Fulang. But she didn’t say anything. When Zang Ya went out for a walk, she arranged for the maid to handle the tasks.
