Chapter 122: Chapter 121 Desperate Struggles in the Abyssal Lair
Jack narrowly rolled out of the way as Aelion's sword sliced through the air where his head had been. The blade embedded itself into the stone floor, sending up a shower of sparks. "Aelion, remember who you are!" Jack shouted, his voice echoing in the chamber filled with the Abyssal Fusion's menacing growls. The merged orb in his chest burned hot, as if reacting to the chaos around him.
Lyra and The Keeper, their backs pressed against the ancient 符文 - covered wall, launched an attack on the Abyssal Fusion. Lyra leaped forward, her dagger aimed at one of the creature's pulsating eyes, while The Keeper sent shards of ice flying, hoping to slow it down. But the beast merely swatted them aside with a massive tendril. Lyra crashed into a pillar, and The Keeper's ice magic shattered, leaving her vulnerable.
Elias, his eyes fixed on the 符文,muttered incantations under his breath. "There has to be a way..." he murmured. Suddenly, a section of the wall lit up with a different pattern of symbols. "This is it!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with a mix of excitement and urgency. "These are instructions for a counter - spell, but... it requires a sacrifice of pure light and dark energy."
Just then, Aelion recovered his sword and charged at Jack again. Jack blocked the attack with his own blade, the force of the impact sending shockwaves through his arms. He could see the darkness in Aelion's eyes, but there was also a flicker of something else, a hint of the warrior's former self struggling against the corruption.
The Abyssal Fusion, meanwhile, had wrapped its tendrils around the black obelisk. Dark energy crackled between them, and the creature let out a roar that shook the entire chamber. Jack knew they were running out of time. If the fusion absorbed all the power from the obelisk, it would be unstoppable.
Lyra, despite her injuries, jumped back into the fray. She ran towards Aelion, trying to distract him from Jack. "Hey, pretty boy!" she shouted, drawing his attention. "Remember when you said you were the best warrior in the Light Realm? Well, you're acting like a coward now!"
Aelion's attack faltered for a moment, and a look of confusion crossed his face. Jack seized the opportunity. He closed his eyes and focused on the merged orb, reaching out with his mind to the mysterious consciousness he'd sensed before. Help me save him, he pleaded.
A surge of energy coursed through Jack's body. The orb glowed brightly, and a beam of light shot out, hitting Aelion. The warrior let out a scream as the light fought against the darkness within him. For a moment, there was a standstill, as the two forces battled for control.
The Keeper, seeing an opening, launched a powerful ice spell at the Abyssal Fusion's tendrils. The ice spread rapidly, encasing them in a thick layer. But the creature was enraged. With a violent shake, it shattered the ice and lashed out at The Keeper, knocking her unconscious.
Elias, his hands trembling, began to draw the ancient symbols on the floor. "I need your help!" he shouted at Jack and Lyra. "We have to channel our energy into the spell!"
Jack, still focused on Aelion, nodded. Lyra ran to Elias' side, her dagger at the ready in case any shadowy creatures emerged. Jack could feel the merged orb's power building, and he knew that this was their last
