Chapter 123: Chapter 122 Reckoning of Spells

As Jack, Lyra, and Elias poured their energy into the ancient counter - spell, the 符文 on the walls flared with a brilliance that rivaled the Abyssal Fusion's malevolent glow. Aelion, caught in the crossfire of light and dark within his body, let out a guttural scream. His armor cracked further, and a blinding white light began to seep through the fractures, battling against the encroaching darkness.

The Abyssal Fusion, sensing the threat, released a wave of pure, corrosive shadow. It swept across the chamber, consuming everything in its path. Lyra gritted her teeth, her hands trembling as she forced more of her strength into the spell. Her vision blurred from the effort, but she refused to look away. "We're so close!" she shouted, her voice barely audible over the roar of the encroaching darkness.

Jack felt the merged orb in his chest reach a critical point. It pulsed wildly, sending jolts of pain through his body. The connection to Aelion's struggling light grew stronger, and for a moment, he could see the warrior's memories - of his home in the Light Realm, of his training, and of his unwavering resolve to protect the innocent. Hold on, Jack urged, pouring every ounce of his will into the connection.

The counter - spell reached its peak. A column of energy, a swirling maelstrom of light and dark, shot up from the symbols on the floor and collided with the Abyssal Fusion. The creature let out a deafening screech as its form began to disintegrate, piece by piece. But the spell came at a cost. The chamber began to shake violently, and large chunks of the ceiling crashed to the ground.

Elias, his face pale and drained, stumbled backwards. "The seal... it's breaking," he gasped. "We've released something even more powerful." As if on cue, the black obelisk at the center of the room started to crack, and a dark, malevolent presence seeped out.

Just then, The Keeper stirred. Her eyes fluttered open, and a look of horror crossed her face as she took in the chaos. "I remember," she whispered, her voice filled with dread. "The First Mages... they didn't just try to seal the abyss. They created a failsafe - a weapon of last resort. But it's buried deep within the abyss, and only someone with the power of both light and dark can—"

Her words were cut off by a massive explosion. The Abyssal Fusion, though weakened, had managed to gather enough energy for one final attack. The blast sent Jack, Lyra, and Elias flying across the chamber. Aelion, still locked in his internal battle, was caught in the shockwave. His body was thrown against the wall, and the light within him flickered dangerously.

Jack groaned as he pushed himself up. Blood trickled down his face, and his vision was blurred. But he could see the new threat emerging from the broken obelisk - a shadowy figure, more menacing than the Abyssal Fusion. It let out a laugh that made the very air tremble. "Fools," it hissed. "You've doomed yourselves."

Lyra, her armor in tatters, reached for her dagger. "Not yet," she said, her voice filled with determination. "We're not done
