A Western Kid’s Journey into the Eastern Cultivation World

Chapter 121: Chapter 120 The Forbidden Chamber

The ground trembled beneath their feet as the Abyssal Fusion lumbered towards the hidden chamber, its massive form scraping against the cave ceiling. Jack forced himself up, ignoring the throbbing pain in his head and the erratic pulsing of the merged orb. "We can't let it reach whatever's in there," he said, his voice strained.

Lyra nodded, her grip tightening on her dagger. "But how do we stop it?" she asked, eyeing the creature warily. Its multiple eyes swiveled towards them, and a tendril of dark energy shot out, narrowly missing her.

The Keeper rushed to Aelion's side. The warrior was still conscious, but his armor was cracked, and a dark, oily substance seeped from the wound on his chest. "Your light... it's fading," she said, her voice filled with concern.

Aelion gritted his teeth. "I can still fight," he growled, pushing himself up. But his movements were slow and unsteady, a far cry from his earlier grace.

Elias, who had been observing the glowing 符文,suddenly pointed to a section of the cave wall. "There's a passage," he said. "We might be able to cut the creature off."

Without hesitation, the group followed him. The passage was narrow and dark, with only the faint glow of the merged orb and Aelion's sputtering light to guide them. As they ran, Jack could feel the energy of the Abyssal Fusion growing stronger, as if the creature was drawing power from whatever lay in the hidden chamber.

Finally, they emerged into a large, circular room. The walls were covered in more ancient 符文,and in the center stood a massive, black obelisk. The obelisk pulsed with a dark energy that matched the Abyssal Fusion's, and strange, shadowy figures seemed to dance within its surface.

The Keeper gasped. "This is the heart of the abyss's power," she said. "These are the remains of the First Mages' failed attempt to seal the darkness."

Just then, the Abyssal Fusion crashed through the entrance, its roar shaking the room. It lunged towards the obelisk, its tendrils reaching out to touch it.

Jack knew they had to act fast. He raised his sword, the merged orb in his chest flaring with a bright, but unstable light. "Now!" he shouted.

Lyra and Aelion charged forward, their weapons at the ready. The Keeper summoned what little ice magic she had left, creating a barrier to slow the creature down. Elias, meanwhile, studied the 符文 on the walls, trying to find a way to disrupt the obelisk's power.

But as they fought, Aelion suddenly let out a scream. His armor cracked further, and the dark substance spread across his body. His eyes, once a bright blue, turned pitch - black. "No!" he shouted, struggling against whatever was controlling him. "Don't let me..." His voice trailed off, and he turned on the group, his sword now glowing with a malevolent light.

Jack stared at him in horror. "Aelion, fight it!" he shouted. But it was no use. The warrior charged towards him, his attack swift and deadly.

At the same time, the Abyssal Fusion reached the obelisk. As its tendrils touched the black stone, a wave of dark energy swept through the room, knocking everyone off their feet. Jack could feel the merged orb in his chest being pulled towards the obelisk, as if it was being called by a long - lost
