When Jin Xuyan, Jiao Lizhi, and Fu Guai arrived at the Phantom Team's residence, they parked the car and came out of it. Standing outside the gate, Fu Guai turned his head and met a pair of clear, bright eyes.

Pei Yixie stared at the man standing a few meters in front of her and raised her eyebrows. After a moment, she smiled and walked over to him.

Reaching out her hand, she said, "Hello, we have met again."

Hearing this, Fu Guai frowned and thought, 'Who is this weird person?'

Pei Yixie held Fu Guai's wrist and shook his hand while replying in a low voice, "Brother, my name is Yixie. I'm not a weird person. We met a long time ago."

As soon as she said this, Fu Guai pulled back his hand from her grip and looked at her warily. 'How did she know what I'm thinking about? Does she have a mind-reading ability?' he thought inwardly.

Pei Yixie smiled at him and turned to look at Jin Xuyan. Before she could greet him, Xiao Qi said, "Captain, Sister-in-law, the two of you are finally back!"

Jin Xuyan glanced at him before he turned to Pei Yixie and asked, "Why are you here?"

"Brother, you are still as cold as ever. I miss you, so I came to visit you," Pei Yixie replied calmly.

When he heard this, Jin Xuyan narrowed his eyes and said, "You shouldn't be here. Go back to Jiangning."

Hearing this, Pei Yixie let out a chuckle and replied, "Brother, do you think that person will care whether I'm here or not? In his eyes, I was just a discarded chess piece. Since I have no value, there is no reason for him to care about my life and death."

After saying this, she opened the gate and walked into the house with familiarity. Seeing this, Jin Xuyan let out a long sigh and said, "Ah Zhi, let's go inside first."

Even though Jiao Lizhi was curious about what her fiancé's relationship with that girl was, she only nodded and followed him in.

Left behind, Xiao Qi scratched his head, turned to Fu Guai, and said, "Brother, you must be the new member. My name is Xiao Qi. Let's go inside first."

Fu Guai nodded and walked into the house. The moment they entered the house, they saw the members were busy packing up their backpacks. Seeing this, Jin Xuyan asked, "Have you all bought your apartment?"

Hearing his voice, the members stopped what they were doing and greeted him and Jiao Lizhi with a smile.

"Captain, Sister-in-law, welcome back."

"Captain, our apartments are ready, and we can move in anytime. We plan to move in tomorrow," Zhang Yuan replied.

Jin Xuyan nodded and said, "Everyone, this is my friend, Fu Guai. From today onwards, he will join our team."

After he said this, the members started introducing themselves to him. When they saw Fu Guai only nodded at them, they looked at their Captain with a questioning gaze.

"Brother Fu's throat was damaged, so he couldn't talk," Jiao Lizhi explained.

When they heard this, Jiang Lixin walked over and said, "Brother Fu, I'm a doctor and have a healing-type ability. Can I have a look at your condition?"

Fu Guai stared at her but said nothing. When everyone thought that he wouldn't agree, Pei Yixie suddenly said, "Sister Jiang, he dislikes close contact with strangers."

As soon as she finished her words, Fu Guai shot her a glance. After a moment of hesitation, he finally nodded and took a seat on the couch.

"Then we will just take the treatment slowly," Jin Xuyan said.

Jiang Lixin nodded and said, "I will do the treatment for thirty minutes every day."

After checking Fu Guai's condition, Jin Xuyan turned to Pei Yixie and asked, "Pei Yixie, you can tell me why you are here now."

Meeting his sharp gaze, Pei Yixie sat across from him and replied calmly, "That old man abandoned me for eight years. I don't want to go back to Jiangning City and become his puppet anymore. So, I have come to join your team."

When they heard this, everyone exchanged glances. Jiao Lizhi looked at her and found some resemblance between the girl and her fiancé.

Thinking about the rumors in her previous life, she turned to her fiancé and thought, 'Are the rumors back then actually real?'

Pei Yixie glanced at her, smiled meaningfully, and continued, "Brother, although we were born from different mothers, both of us have that old man's blood in our veins. By right, I'm still your younger sister. You wouldn't chase me away to fend for myself, would you?"

The moment she said this, everyone took sharp breaths. They had thought of countless scenarios but never expected that their Captain was actually the Pei family's son.
