Chapter 111: Medicines
She was indeed lucky.
Just then, the door of the apartment was pushed open, and Ivy exited the balcony.
Looking at Silas, who was going through some documents with a worried expression, Ivy asked,
"What happened? Has any riot broken out?"
Silas, hearing Ivy's voice, relaxed and explained. "Hm. The military is finding a method to deal with them."
Ivy nodded, but her eyes landed on the title of the document, and seeing the word 'medicine', she was curious.
"Are you looking for a medicine supplier?"
"Hm." Silas had no intention of hiding anything from Ivy. Once he finished telling everything, Ivy raised an eyebrow.
"I can provide you with the medicines… enough for the entire military base. But I only have Fluoroquinolones and metronidazole." She told, making Silas stunned. After all, for the past few days, he had been using all of his connections just to import some medicines, and even then, he didn't get any.
But now…the thing he had searched for in every street was found in his home… He felt speechless yet delighted.
"What a coincidence, those were the exact two supplies our base's military doctor wants. But are you sure?" Silas confirmed, to give a better estimation about the consumption of the base, he even reminded, "Currently, the base has more than 40000 people."
"I am sure. I can." Ivy confirmed and emphasized the two words 'I can'. Just after multiplying the medicines 5 times, she can meet the demand.
Silas was overjoyed and asked, "How much is the price? I will ask the logistics department to compensate you with the food supplies in return."
"No need. Since you are framed and will have to use your own food supplies to buy the medicines, I won't take anything," Ivy stated with a serious expression. At the same time, she resented General Frank who liked power so much that he was ready to see people suffer.
The excitement in Silas's eyes vanished, and he shook his head, "No! I can't take it for free…"
"If you don't take money, then I will not supply the medicine." Ivy seriously retorted. Anyways, with the 500KB she has in her hand, spending just 10 KB to help Silas didn't seem much.
Silas frowned in disapproval and was about to decline when Ivy continued, "Just take it as a compensation from me. For all the years I made you suffer. And if you truly feel indebted to me, just tell others that a charitable person had donated these medicinal supplies."
Silas froze and stared deeply at Ivy for a few seconds. No one knew what he thought, but finally he agreed, "Alright."
Ivy heaved a sigh of relief and waved her hand. In an instant, more than 20,000 metronidazole and 20,000 packs of fluoroquinolones.
Though mentally prepared, Silas was still shocked seeing the small mountain of medicines in front of him.
Taking a deep breath and suppressing the rising excitement in his heart, he hugged Ivy and muttered softly,
"Thank you… Thank you so much."
Only he knew how concerning the matter was to the Blackthorn family and how much trouble they would have to face if they didn't submit medicines to the military within in next 2 days.
As for taking medicine for free… Silas has already thought of a way to repay Ivy. He even thought of publishing Ivy's good deed and highlighting to everyone how charitable she is.
Unaware of Silas's thoughts, Ivy greedily inhaled the reassuring woody fragrance, and her tensed body calmed a little.
After a while, she felt Silas's hand getting naughty and straying far away from back to her waist, caressing her softly.
Heat pooled in Ivy's lower abdomen, and she even felt a hard thing poking her abdomen, making her blush. She reluctantly pushed Silas away and tried to create distance between them,
"I have made dinner, go and take a shower."
Silas didn't move; instead, he tightened the grip on Ivy's waist and leaned toward her lips, softly smooching her lips.
At first, Ivy didn't respond, but under the constant licking and smooching, followed by a strong grip on her buttocks, she moaned inadvertently and let the invader seize control.
Helplessly and a bit aroused on her own, Ivy started to respond.
Her tongue intertwined with Silas's for a moment, but then Ivy suddenly pulled back, her face red like a tomato.
She pushed gently on his chest and took a step back. "Silas," she whispered, trying to calm her racing heart. "Dinner is getting cold."
Silas blinked, then gave a small smile. "Alright," he said, his voice low but warm. "I'll take a shower first."
Ivy nodded quickly and turned away, pretending to fix something on the table just to hide her blushing face. Her mind was spinning. She wasn't used to being so close to someone like that, especially not Silas. But… she didn't hate it.
After a while, Silas came back, his hair still damp, wearing a simple T-shirt and sweatpants. He looked relaxed, and his smile was softer now.
The two sat down for dinner.
"You really cooked all this?" he asked, surprised at the spread.
"Yes." Ivy nodded, her eyes gazing at Silas hopefully.
Silas calmly tried the crayfish, and his eyes closed in delight. Though he had meat, they were processed for longer usage. None of them tasted so fresh… so tantalizing.
"Hm… This is the best crayfish I've ever had." Silas wasn't exaggerating. After the arrival of the apocalypse to have two meals per day was considered a luxury.
As for meat… though some can have it for occasional or for a festive time… in the past 3 months, not a single celebration or festival was held at all. People were too busy surviving.
So, having a warm meal with real meat felt like a dream.
Silas smiled and looked at Ivy. "Thank you."
However, soon he thought of something and his expression turned grim,
"When are you planning to kill Ronan and his cronies?"
