Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower

Chapter 107: Active

Even now, he kept on feeling an urge to murder someone. And that someone was Ronan, Mark, and Peter.

This all started from the day he had that dream. He had many questions, but no one to answer them.

Before, he used to think that it was completely right if he died and Ivy stayed alive. But after that dream, he started to worry. What if he died and Ivy had to suffer so much?

Bang! Silas took down another zombie and looked at his system.

[Ding! You have gained 30exp]

From the day he had awakened this system, he gained a new attribute named experience and Level.

The system mainly deploys him for daily tasks, which include killing zombies. As the days passed, Silas noticed that the number of zombies to be killed increased by one every day.

His power too steadily risen, and now he can take down 10 level-0 zombies with ease. Even the level-1 zombies weren't a problem for him.

[Ding! You have triggered a mission! Earn 10 thunder crystals within the next 24 hours. Thunder crystals: (0/10)]

[Mission reward: 1000 exp.]

Silas didn't dare to take the mission lightly. Till now, accumulating experience has proven to be great. Experience can help to increase insight.

However, it was truly strange that a new mission appeared out of the blue.

Within the next 20 hours, Silas easily earned 9th thunder crystal. Just as he was dealing with one of the zombies, he suddenly felt weak and fell to the ground.

His eyes turned heavy, and slowly drowsiness took over him. For a moment, he just wanted to close his eyes and fall asleep.

His brows furrowed while his heart skipped a beat. He was at a secluded corner; if he fell asleep now, this would be his last time to see everything as a human.

'No! No! I can't die now! Ivy will be tortured if I leave the world.'

The sentence must have truly hit Silas hard, because the next second, all the zombies that were nearing him felt a wave of thunder coursing through their bodies and started to twitch.

Soon their body turned as black as coal. Seeing this sight, Silas heaved a sigh of relief, cracked open the zombie's skull one by one, and found one of the thunder crystals.

After submitting the crystals to the system, he felt drowsiness wash over him. Just as he was about to close his eyes, he realized that more and more zombies were nearing in his direction.

'Sh*t… is this truly my end?' He thought, and waves of regret appeared in his heart. There were many things he still hadn't done yet…

Suddenly, a cold hand touched his forehead, and he heard a melodious voice, "Silas? Silas? What happened to you? Talk with me!"

That was the last thing Silas remembered. When he opened his eyes again, he found himself in a hospital. He stared at the ceiling, recalling what had happened to him.

Feeling a warm hand interwoven with him, he opened his eyes and smiled when he saw a certain pink-haired woman sleeping with her head on his bed while sitting on a stool.

Feeling stirring, Ivy's eyes snapped open and straightened up at once. There were dark circles under her eyes, and if one looked closely, one would notice the fatigue in her calm eyes.

"You are awake? Are you feeling pain anywhere? Do you want me to fetch you water?" A barrage of questions was shot in Silas's direction.

"Yes. No, I don't feel any pain, and I am indeed thirsty." Silas answered patiently. His gentle voice made the tension in Ivy's body dissipate.

"What had happened to me?" Silas asked curiously when he noticed that he wasn't harmed at all.

"Don't know. Even the doctors or healers couldn't tell." Ivy answered, her eyes hungrily taking in Silas's face.

"How many hours have passed till now?" Silas asked while asking the system to open the interface. However, he didn't even get the chance to look because of Ivy's words.

"A week." Her melodious voice cushioned the shock he felt. After a long while he nodded and said,

"You go and sleep. I am fine now." Silas assured her, but Ivy ignored him and took out the lunch box from her Temporal Storage and set a table for him.

"Here. Eat it." Hearing her non-negotiable tone, he sighed before taking the bowl of porridge and sipping. His heart felt warm.

"I will call Henry to help you wash up," Ivy stated, and was about to leave when Silas stopped her and said in a serious tone,

"No! I am alright now. Truly. You should go and wash up. Take rest afterwards." Silas stopped her.

Ivy stared at Silas for a long while before nodding. In the past 1 week, she had canceled her plans and stayed by Silas's side.

She was truly scared when she saw Silas lying on the ground and surrounded by a group of zombies. If she were even a minute late, god knows what would have happened.

After taking a quick bath in her space, she ate the remaining porridge and slept. For the past few days, her superpower has forced her to travel to different places, and though she had collected more than 6000 packets of rice, she wasn't thrilled.

Every time her superpower was triggered, she was forced to walk back to Silas's hospital. Guarding Silas by his side took a toll, and in the end, she was so tired that she fell asleep the moment she closed her eyes.

Silas stared at Ivy with a tender gaze before his eyes fell on the status window.

So he had finally awakened his superpower. "Finally… Finally, I can protect Ivy better." Silas muttered under his breath.

"Silas?" Talia's voice broke his daze, and when he turned around, he saw her looking at Ivy with a grim expression.
