Z-MON X

The city was in flames it had lit up the night sky. The boy with red hair laid on the roof top feeling nothing but despair this was the power of the council of despair. Just the mention of them can cause someone to go crazy. The girl was approaching the hopeless boy. As she had come closer the boy had to decide something. Already losing the will to live he had come up with a plan. He was going to blow himself up along with the girl. The girl did not know of this plan and still perused closer. The boy started to emit black and red lighting out of his body. The smell of gunpowder was also emitting from him as if he was a bomb. It was then that the girl had realised what was happening. However, the boy stopped. The black and red aura was gone along with the smell of gunpowder. The boy had passed out. Then in a second another appeared. The girl had realised this man and took a leap backwards creating a large space between the two. She realised that the man was a member of the council of hope. Deveno Zacakria.

"I see that we meet again Gireo, life mustn't be too good right know if your picking a fight with a child 8 years younger than you and of all people my own brother I thought you would have known better."

"Deveno you bastard. I- I wont forgive you for this"

She ran away. I would have stopped her but Shiebe's injuries are too serious to ignore. There should be a nurse outside the gate entrance. I grabbed him and headed over there as quickly as I could jumping from roof to roof to avoid any of the Z-Mon's below. What the hell happened. How did the Council of despair and the Z-Mon's find out about this place and why did they attack now. The day Shiebe had arrived and Gireo was targeting him. Damn it we've been ratted out. There must have been a spy in the defence squad or maybe a civilian overheard our plan in the inn. We left Shiebe in the inn cause we thought he would be safe there. Damn it. 

The plan's a complete failure. It seems like we are just going to have to ambush the castle by force. 

I had arrived outside the gate. There were a lot of civilians laying down on mats and getting medical treatment. It was bad we weren't able to evacuate everyone in time. 

I laid Shiebe down on one of the empty mats. Don't worry I will show you the true power of your older brother. I wasn't able to find the lead squad anywhere. My father said he would be outside the gate waiting for me to get Shiebe from the inn but he was gone.

Where could he have gone off to. I went back to the city. The Z-Mon's were ranked about D to C rank. They were weak but there were a lot of them meaning that they are nothing but canon fodder to slow us down and cause chaos. As I was looking for my father I saw one. This one was different. It was an A tier. It was about 10 ft tall.

"Are you the one called Deveno Zackaria"

I didn't answer his question in case it was a trap. The Z-Mon had gotten angry with my silence and then threw a punch at me but I easily caught his fist and then ripped his arm off his body. I threw his arm away and jumped up towards his head. I spun around and kicked it off sending it flying towards a house. His body had collapsed to the ground and the Z-Mon was dead in seconds. I didn't even need to use my syreum just pure strength was enough for A tiers and below. S tiers and World class tiers were different though. I then heard someone call for my name.

"Hey Deveno is that you"

It was my father standing on a rooftop. He was covered in blood but he didn't look injured. He jumped down from the rooftop and avoided the Z-Mon's body on the ground.

"These damn bastards. They got us."

"Father are you okay"

"Yeah it's not mine but where's Shiebe. Is he okay."

"A council member got to him and attacked him, I stopped them before it had gotten too serious and they ran off. I took him to the nursing area outside the gate."

My father looked at me with rage. Hatred was in eyes. 

"Which one"

"H-Huh"

"Which member was it."

"Oh I didn't recognise them."

I looked away from my father. I couldn't look him in the eyes after lying to him like that.

"You're lying. Which means it was Gireo right. You still have'nt gotten over that Deveno. She's a part of the council of despair and your part of the council of hope. Don't forget that."

"Yes I know that. I just-"

I paused. Gireo was a childhood friend of mine at the time we both attended Henokai Academy she was my best friend and my first crush. Then things got complicated as the years went on and eventually she left the academy and joined the council of despair. I was never able to see her as a member though. I had to accept it but I couldn't.

"Deveno, I will go after your mother. You will take care of the council of despair. Do not let relationships fail you. Don't let it blind you from the truth otherwise you will end up dead in your own lies and fantasy. Your strong minded don't let anyone ruin it."

Then he left. He was right. I needed to move on and see the truth. 

Xeno

 30 minuets earlier

It was starting to snow. The Z-Mon ganged up on me like ants. 

"This is where it ends for you"

They weren't strong though. 

"Begone from my sight foul creatures. Grant me flames."

I pulled out my sword and enchanted it with my syreum. My syreum allows me to add an elementary affinity of my choice to my weapon. I had used the element of fire it was good for a group of Z-Mon's like this. 

They all came rushing at me. I swung my sword sending out slashes of fire which cut the nearest Z-Mon's around me. There were about 50 left. Grabbing my sword I rushed at them slicing off their heads as quickly as I could. they were about my height so it was fairly easy

Then one had appeared out of nowhere. A S ranked Z-Mon. These were as rare as world class. You can tell the power level of a Z-Mon just by looking at its aura. The bigger the stronger. They will also look more human the stronger they are. 

"Well, Well, Well look what we have here. Xeno Zacakria. It's an honour to meet you sir as a fellow swordsman I cant wait to kill you and hang your head up on my wall."

The Z-Mon pulled out his sword and cut the horde of Z-Mon's in front of him

"Out of the way low life. My targets are the only ones I'm interested in."

Then one Z-Mon behind me shouted out.

"Shit, Its keo the emperor of the sword.He's in the top 10 of Z-Mons who are almost on par with the cult itself. I don't know about the rest of you but we should run. He don't care if it's human or Z-Mon. He will kill you if you interfere in his fun"

The Z-Mon had tried to run but got his head cut off. The rest of them also tried to run but some was cut down.

Keo they called him. He looked like a young adult. Tall, lean, Green glowing eyes and black hair. His clothing was black as well. He had one long sword in his hand. The sword was black with a green aura around it. 

"Xeno. Die"

He jumped towards me. It was so fast that I could barely react. I used my sword as a shield to block his attack but it ended up sending me backwards. He used that moment to try and get another attack in.

"Earth grant me strength"

I switched my element to earth then stabbed my sword into the ground.

"Arise Wall of protection."

Instantly a Wall of stone had risen up. It was about 30 ft tall and had blocked the Z-Mon. There was one disadvantage to my syreum and that was the enchants that I had to cast before I could use them. These days syreums are incantation less but some still require them to work. Syreums that require incantations are ones that others can learn. However there are certain requirements you need. Incantation-less syreums are only available to the user. However It can be passed down from generations for example syreum X. 

"QUIT RUNNING YOU SON OF A BITCH."

He broke down the wall with ease.

"What th-"

However I knew he would which is why I focused on height rather than strength I need to buy some time to use my plan. Once he had broken the rocks I had jumped on the failing ones to get high ground. I was about 19 feet from the ground. He doesn't know that I'm above him though. I was going to throw my sword at him slicing his head off. 

"Give me the flow of the sea"

I switched the water element.I en covered myself in water allowing my body to move like water. Using this I moved at a faster speed than before. I aimed for the Z-Mon. He saw me at the corner of my eye and then pulled out his sword to deflect however with my speed it was useless. I slashed opened the sword and part of his chest was slightly cut. Then I went behind him and rushed back at him again this time aiming for the heart.

However he jumped over me and his sword towards me. 

"Expand, Lio"

The area around us became a black void. We were trapped in some kind of box.

"Now You can't run away or sneak up at me."

The Z-Mon grabbed his sword from the ground and pointed it at me. I must admit its been a while since I had this much trouble. Looks like it's time for me to use it. I haven't use it since that day. This move did not require any weapon. I reached out my hand.

"May the power of the galaxies grant me strength"

A small flicker appeared between the two of us. Then a small rift was created in the air. Instantly sucking up the Z-Mon. He was gone. The black void disappeared .

"Shit. I'm covered in blood"

I wanted to avoid using that move as it causes me to feel heavy pain but I had no choice. I need to save my family and this world from evil. I won't ever let anyone hurt them.
