Z-MON X

A month later, we arrived. The Country was on water which made it hard for just anyone to access. You had to get permission from the Z-Mon Defence Squad in order to legally enter the country. Once we had gotten there we were greeted by the Defence Squad itself. The professor dropped me off and head back to the academy.

"Good luck, Shiebe"

"Thanks"

The defence squad was guarding the entrance to the country. The entrance had a metal gate closing the entrance. It seemed that this country was quite advanced. One of the members came to me

"Shiebe. I see that you have arrived. Your father and brother had arrived a few days ago. They are currently in an inn waiting for you."

"I see"

The man then threw a gesture to another by the gate. He pulled a lever and the gate had slowly opened. As it did I could see the light of the city flashing out since it was dark outside. 

"Welcome to one of the most advanced countries in the world. The Land Of Vertex. "

I made my way towards the entrance. The city was more advanced compared to the medieval style of my home town. In fact each continent had a different vibe towards it. Reina had more of a magical fairy tale feeling to it. This country had a Japanese style towards it. With the house interior having japan like structures. Interesting.

I would like to have explored it in greater depth if I was in a better situation. My mother is here. We had to save her no matter what. 

There was a guard leading me to where my father and brother were. She was the only female member on the squad. 

"Hey kid."

"Y-yes"

"Don't overthink it. You're not alone. Everyone's going to save her we wouldn't just let a kid do all the work no matter how strong you are."

"Yes you're right. Thank you"

But I wasn't a kid. I may not have been an adult but I am still a 15 year old teenager inside. I didn't have the mental level of a 10 year old. I can't stop overthinking. I understand that I wasn't alone but i can't help but feel like something bad is going to happen. Just like the night I lost them both. 

"We're almost there. The inns down the street"

My father has been almost 4 years since I had last seen him and my brother this would be our first time meeting each other. 

We stood outside the building. Just like the rest of the houses it had a Japanese style towards it. 

"Shiebe you go ahead I need to go over the plan with the others at the gate"

"Alright"

I went inside the building. There were very few people inside. I walked up to a lady in the front desk. She was a beast folk. 

"Excuse me miss but is anyone under the name Xen-"

Then I felt a strong aura behind me and it wasn't just me that felt it everyone in the room fell to their knees. I was the only one that was somewhat standing. It was the same time as the principal. The power grew closer and stronger. Everyone was bowing their heads as if some king was entering the building. I hope it's not Dimo's dad or I might kill him. 

Then the door opened. Two humans stood there. They were both male. One had a patchy beard and a dull expression.He had crimson red hair and red eyes. Just by looking at him you could tell he was strong however he was not the one emitting this powerful aura. It was the man next to him. He looked younger but was the same height as the other man. He also had crimson red hair but had two different coloured eyes. One was blue and the other red. He had a prince-like vibe towards him. 

The older one looked at me. His face lit up

"S-Shiebe"

"Dad is that you"

I recognised his voice. He's appearance looked a lot different from before he looked stressed and had a serious tone to him but he was still my dad.

He slowly approached me and grabbed my shoulder.

"I knew you would be alive. Look at how tall you've become. I'm glad to see that you survived the journey."

"Yeah you too"

"So, this is my little brother."

My attention focused to the other man still standing by the doorway.

He then approached me and reached out his hand.

"My name is Deveno Zackaria. It's nice to finally meet you Shiebe. I wish I could have been there for your birth but I'm afraid that I was occupied by the council of despair."

"Don't worry about it."

So this was my older brother. I never had one so I didn't really know how to act. 

"Now, that we are all here lets discuss the plan. Deveno gets the squad"

"Yes father"

The people around us were still bowing down.

"Its alright now you can all stand"

Everyone then stood up. 

"Hey can you get a room for 3 people"

"Yes sir"

The lady at he front desk then picked out 3 keys and gave them to my dad

"Thanks. Let's go Shiebe"

"Alright"

We then headed up stairs and into a hallway. There were several doors.

"Let's all head to my room to discuss what the plan is."

After a few minutes everyone had arrived. 

My dad, me, Deveno and the lead squad of the defence squad were all in the room. The lead squad consisted of 10 people and were our main support during the operation. The rest of the defence squad would deal with the civilians and any outside mess. The captain of the squad spoke out.

"I'm going over all the details and the plan that is going to happen in 2 days"

The room was silent. My heart was beating like crazy. 

"Liana Zacakria was found in the north side of the country. It's about 20 minutes from here. The castle is currently being used by the royal family on the island so it is weird that she was there and no news was being sent out to the public. She was seen being locked up in chains and beaten up. We have assumed that this was the doing of the royal family hence why we can't just ask them about it and decided to break her out ourselves. Deveno would enter the castle posing as a potential marriage partner for the princess. We have already sent the letter to them so they are aware. When the time is right he will leave an entrance for us to enter the castle. We will then attack the castle using attacking the royal family and arresting them for kidnapping Liana."

I see. On paper it sounds like a solid plan we would break in and retrieve what was ours but I can't help but feel like we are missing a lot of information here. Why and how would my mother end up in the Land of Vertex of all places and with the royal family as well.

"What about my little brother and sister"

"We have no sightings of them so we assumed they are dead"

The mood changed. We don't know for sure that they are dead surely they could still be out there somewhere.

Then my dad spoke up.

"No matter what we will win. We won't lose to anyone. Anyone that dares to get in our way will be killed"

An uproar of cheers filled the room. It seemed that my dad's speech had moved up the motivation a bit however I was still not certain about this whole plan. Something was missing. 

We all headed to our rooms to get some sleep as it was late. The council members had their own houses so they slept there. My room wasn't as big as my dad's but it was good enough for me. I laid on my bed looking at the ceiling. Then I had remembered something. 

In my dad's letter. The defence squad had said that my mother was different from before. They never told us what they meant by that. Damn it there's too much unanswered question for an operation this big. I need to ask the captain about this tomorrow. I slowly closed my eyes and fell asleep. 

*BANG*

I suddenly woke up to a loud noise. My room was bright even though it was still dark. I looked out the window.

"HOLY SHIT!"

The light I was seeing was flames. The city was on fire but not only that there were Z-Mon's out there as well. Shit. Were being attacked. We've ratted out. Who baited out the plan though. Was it the captain. No I don't have time for this I need to wake everyone else up. I left my room to see if anyone else was awake but my brothers and dad's rooms were already opened and empty meaning that they already left. Why didn't they wake me up then. 

I headed downstairs. It was empty but the door seemed to be closed. I went to it and grabbed the handle.

"Leaving so soon. The fun's just about to start"

That aura. I felt it before. It was different from my brothers though.

"Wh- Who the hell are you"

"The copy cat of agony and pain. Giero"

I couldn't move. It felt like my body was telling me not to move.

"Hey Shiebe. You have a cool ass power you know. Destruction. You can kill anyone you fucking want can't ya. Did you know that my brother is now limbless because of you. I thought things were finally starting to change for my life but you had to ruin you. Let me show you the power of your syreum."

She raised one of her arms towards me. Black energy was emitting out of her until a small ball of energy was created from her hands. It was the same as mine. She had copied my syreum. How. When. 

"Boom"

The ball had blasted me out of the inn and threw me on top of a rooftop. My back was broken. I couldn't move my arms. It was hard to breathe. Move. I couldn't move. I was coughing up blood. Shit. Shit. Shit. I'm going to die. Bullshit. That's bullshit. I wouldn't have done that to your brother if he didn't attack us like a dumb ass. He deserved damn it. Fuck. I don't want to die.

Not when I was given a second chance.

No. I can't give in. I need to live. My vision was getting weaker I could only see out of one eye. I couldn't see her. I could only see dead bodies on the floor and hear screams of agony and pain. 

I can't catch a break can't I. Maybe I shouldn't have been reincarnated. Maybe I should have just died. Who reincarnated me. I was going to accept my death. If my life is going to be another living hell then I don't want to live it. 

I just want to be happy.
