Last Chapter: Chapter 13

"Where is he?" Yuya demanded, his voice sharp and unwavering as he stormed toward Yoko.

Yoko sighed, brushing her hand through her hair as she faced her son. Despite the fire in his eyes, she remained calm. "He's gone," she replied, her tone steady but firm.

Yuya's fists clenched at his sides. "Gone? After everything, he just leaves?"

Yoko placed a hand on his shoulder, her gaze softening. "He told me to tell you this: If you want to settle things childishly, then meet him at the You Show Duel School later today."

Yuya's expression flickered, a mix of frustration and determination taking over as he clenched his fists. "Fine," he muttered under his breath, turning on his heel. "If he wants to duel, he'll get one."

Yoko watched him go, a faint smile tugging at her lips despite her concern. "Just don't lose sight of what's important, Yuya," she said softly to herself as she turned back toward the now-empty arena.

As Yuya walked off there was only one thing in his mind. "You will pay, Kai, you duel academy scum. For Sora, and all the people you hunted!!"

Chapter 14: Hidden Emotions Part 2

It was a quiet night, the moon casting its silver glow across the You Show Duel School, as if bearing witness to the confrontation about to unfold. Known for its lively atmosphere and the joyful art of dueltaining, the school now stood as the stage for a far more sombre event. This wasn't just a duel—it was a clash between two brothers, bound not by blood, but by fate and history.

A sleek car pulled up to the driveway of the You Show Duel School, its headlights briefly illuminating the quiet exterior. As the car came to a halt, the doors opened, and Yuya and Yoko stepped out. One bore an air of concern, while the other was a storm of rage. Yuya's fists were clenched tightly, his eyes burning with a fury that didn't feel entirely his own.

He glared at the school's entrance, the familiar place now seeming like an arena for justice. "This is it," he growled, his voice trembling with an intensity that caught Yoko off guard. "This is where you pay for your crimes, Kai." His words carried a weight that seemed almost unnatural, as though the anger wasn't just his, but something darker brewing beneath the surface.

Yoko sighed, wondering again why she was going along with this. She knew something was wrong with Yuya. He had never acted like this to anyone. Even when the school kids picked on him. What had happened to warrant this anger? Whatever it was, she just hoped Kai could fix it.

"Lets go." She said as they walked quietly inside. Entering the duel arena part of the building, they saw a boy, standing in the centre, looking up at the ceiling. It was Kai, he seemed to be lost in thought, what about? No one knows.

"Kai!" Yuya's voice echoed through the quiet night, sharp and cutting. The intensity in his tone snapped me out of my thoughts as I turned to see him and Yoko standing by the entrance.

"Aah, you made it. Nice," I said with a casual smile, trying to lighten the mood, though I knew it was futile.

The reaction was immediate. Yuya's eyes flared with rage, his fists tightening at his sides. "Don't act so casual!" he shouted, his voice trembling with fury. "You think this is some kind of game? After what you've done?"

His anger wasn't surprising, but there was something about the way he looked at me—a mix of betrayal and something darker—that made me pause.

I raised a brow at Yuya, his words stirring a growing unease within me. The sheer hatred radiating from him wasn't normal—it felt deeper, darker, as though something else fuelled it. "What exactly do you think I did, Yuya?" I asked, my voice calm but edged with caution.

"Don't act as if you don't know!" Yuya snapped, his voice cutting through the stillness of the night like a blade. His eyes burned with raw anger, his fists trembling. "Yuto's dimension. You entered their dimension with your Duel Academy pals and started hunting innocent people for your amusement!"

My body stiffened, and a chill ran down my spine. His words hit me like a brick wall. My thoughts raced, and I struggled to process what he'd just said. Yuya's eyes weren't just filled with rage—they were burning with revenge, a feeling I never thought I'd see in him. He was losing it.

"What… what did you just say?" I stammered, my voice barely above a whisper. Even Yoko was staring at her son, confusion etched across her face.

Yuya's breathing grew heavier, his fists clenching so tightly I thought his knuckles might pop. "I don't need to explain anything to you!" he barked. "You know exactly what you did, and I'll make sure you pay for it. You and Duel Academy ruined so many lives!"

I blinked, trying to piece together his words. Duel Academy? Lives ruined? How did he even know about this? And Yuto—why was his name being dragged into this? I glanced at Yoko, but she looked as bewildered as I felt. Whatever this was, it wasn't just a misunderstanding. Something—or someone—was feeding Yuya this anger, and it wasn't natural.

"Yuya," I began, keeping my voice steady, "I don't know who told you this, but you're wrong. I haven't done anything to hurt Yuto or anyone from his dimension. Whatever you think I'm involved in, it's not true."

"Liar!" Yuya roared, cutting me off. His voice echoed through the empty schoolyard, the intensity in it making even Yoko flinch. "You think you can just deny it? I've seen it with my own eyes! I was there when you and Yuto duelled, I saw everything he saw, everything he felt, His emotions, his memories—about you, about the invasion, about Duel Academy!" His Duel Disk activated with a flash of light, the system whirring to life. "And now, you're going to pay for all of it!"

I stared at him, my mind racing. He saw everything Yuto saw…what? That makes no sense. None of this made any sense. I don't know what he saw, but it couldn't have been the truth. Someone was feeding Yuya lies, and I had to find out who. "Yuya, I don't know I don't know what somebody had told you, but you can't listen to them. Do you really think I would do such a thing."

"Shut it!" Yuya shouted, his duel disk glowing as if feeding of his anger. "I don't need to hear any more of your lies. You tried tricking Yuzu and Sora, but it won't work on me. Because of you Sora is gone. I bet you carded him just like you did the others!"

"Yuya, stop!" Yoko interjected, stepping between us with her arms outstretched. "What's gotten into you? Kai would never do something like this! He's—"

"Mom, stay out of this!" Yuya snapped, his voice sharp and filled with venom. Yoko froze, her expression stunned and hurt. "This has nothing to do with you. Kai and I need to settle this, and I don't want you interfering."

I clenched my fists, my jaw tightening, I never expected it to go this far. "Yuya, you need to calm down. Whatever you think I've done, we can talk about it—"

"No!" Yuya's Duel Disk emitted a loud beep, signalling his readiness. "We're done talking, Kai. You've already done enough. The only way this ends, is with a duel."

I sighed, running a hand through my hair. This wasn't how I wanted things to go, but it seemed like I didn't have a choice. Yuya wasn't going to listen, not in this state. If I wanted to get through to him, I'd have to beat some sense into him—literally.

"Fine," I said, activating my own Duel Disk. The familiar glow of the holographic interface lit up the space around us. "If this is what it takes to get you to listen, then so be it. But don't expect me to go easy on you, Yuya."

"Good," Yuya snarled, his eyes narrowing. "Because I'm not holding back either. You're going to feel the pain of everyone you've hurt!"

I glanced at Yoko, who was standing on the sidelines with a worried expression. "Stay back, Yoko," I told her. "This isn't going to be pretty."

She hesitated, her eyes darting between us. "Kai, please don't hurt him," she pleaded. "He's my son…"

"I'll do my best," I said with a weak smile. "But I can't promise anything. Yuya's strong, and if he's this determined, I'll have to take him seriously."

Yoko nodded reluctantly, stepping back as the duel field activated around us. The familiar hum of the holographic projectors filled the air, and the moonlight reflected off the shimmering outlines of the arena.

I turned back to Yuya, my expression softening for just a moment. "You know," I began, "this is the first time we've ever duelled against each other. Too bad it had to happen under these circumstances."

Yuya's glare didn't waver. His eyes burned with anger, his voice sharp as a blade. "I assure you; it will be our last."

His words hung in the air like a challenge, heavy and unrelenting.

I sighed, shaking my head. "Fine then," I said, my tone steadying as I activated my Duel Disk. "If that's how it's going to be, let's settle this. Right here, right now.

"DUEL!!"

Round 1

Kai

Hand: 5

LP: 4000

Yuya

Hand: 5

LP: 4000

I stood silently, my gaze fixed on Yuya as he drew his opening hand, the tension between us thick in the air. My mind raced, piecing together what he'd said earlier. He claims he saw the duel between Yuto and me... but that's impossible. Sora said Yuya was with them, dealing with some kind of headache when it happened. He only arrived after the duel was over. Something isn't adding up. I pushed the thought aside for now. If Yuya wasn't going to give me answers, I'd have to force them out of him.

"I'm going first," I said calmly, drawing my first card.

Yuya scowled, his glare burning with intensity. "Do whatever you want, Kai. It won't save you."

Unfazed by his tone, I slid a card into my Duel Disk. "I'll summon Fighting Flame Swordsman in Attack Mode!" A warrior clad in fiery red Armor appeared on my field, gripping a blazing sword that crackled with energy. Its flames danced wildly, illuminating the battlefield. (ATK: 1800)

Fighting Flame Swordsman LV 4 (ATK 1800/DEF 1600)

"With its effect, I can add the spell card Fighting Flame Sword to my hand," I continued, adding the glowing card to my spell slot. "And now, I'll activate Salamandra Fusion! This spell allows me to perform a Fusion Summon a monsters from my extra deck that says 'Flame Swordsman.'"

The flames surrounding Fighting Flame Swordsman intensified, forming a fiery wheel that spun rapidly, engulfing the entire field in heat. "I fuse Fighting Flame Swordsman with Salamandra Fusion to summon a true master of the blade. Appear, wielder of the flames—Ultimate Flame Swordsman!"

Ultimate Flame Swordsman LV 8 (ATK 2800/DEF 1600)

The wheel of fire exploded, revealing a towering figure clad in blazing armor, its sword radiating with an intense golden flame. (ATK: 2500)

"Wow!" Yoko gasped, her eyes widening in amazement as the fiery warrior took its place on my field. "He Fusion Summoned on his first turn—impressive!"

But her awe wasn't shared by Yuya. His fists clenched tightly, his glare narrowing even further. "Fusion Summoning right off the bat, huh? Typical. I bet this is the same move you used when u went hunting those people with your duel academy pals!" His voice was sharp, almost shaking with anger.

I raised a brow, unfazed by his words. "What's the matter, Yuya? My Fusion Summoning bothering you? Or is it something else?" I asked, testing the waters. Yuya didn't bother responding. "I set one card face down then end my turn."

"I draw!"

Turn 2

Kai

Hand: 3

LP: 4000

Yuya

Hand: 6

LP: 4000

Yuya gritted his teeth, the anger radiating off him like a tangible force as he drew his card. His movements were sharp and aggressive, a stark contrast to his usual playful style. He glanced at his hand, the fire in his eyes growing hotter.

"You think I'm scared of your flashy Fusion Summon?!" he snapped, slamming a card into his Duel Disk. "I activate my Pendulum Scales! I set Scale 8 Performapal Odd-Eyes Unicorn and Scale 2 Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer in my Pendulum Zones!"

The colourful aura of Yuya's Pendulum Scales lit up the field as the two monsters took their places in the shimmering energy arcs.

"Using these Scales, I can summon monsters between Levels 3 and 7 from my hand. Pendulum Summon!" Yuya raised his hand high, and two beams of light shot down onto his field. "Come forth, Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon and Performapal Odd-Eyes Light Phoenix (2000 ATK)!"

Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon LV7 (ATK 2500/2000)

Performapal Odd-Eyes Light Phoenix LV5 (ATK 2000/DEF 1000)

The roar of Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon echoed through the arena as it landed next to the more graceful, phoenix-like monster.

Yoko gasped from the sidelines. "He pendulum summoned right after you brought out Ultimate Flame Swordsman," she said in amazement. "Now this is an entertaining duel"

But Yuya didn't seem to care about impressing anyone. His gaze was locked on me, his lips curling into a scowl.

"Next, I activate Performapal Odd-Eyes Unicorn's Pendulum effect! I can target one monster on my field and give it an extra 1000 ATK until the end of the turn. I target Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!"

Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon roared again as its power surged.

Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon LV7 (ATK 3500/2000)

"Odd-Eyes, attack Ultimate Flame Swordsman! Spiral Flame Strike!" Yuya ordered.

I watched as the empowered dragon unleashed a blazing spiral of energy, barrelling toward my swordsman.

"Not so fast!" I countered, raising my hand up. "I activate Ultimate Swordsman ability! When It goes into battle, it's ATK double!"

Ultimate Flame Swordsman's blade ignited even further, its ATK climbing to match and surpass Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon's.

Ultimate Flame Swordsman LV 8 (ATK 5600/DEF 1600)

"I ain't finished though. I activate Fighting Flame Sword! When an attack involving a fire monster have is done, I can destroy one card you control. I choose your Performapal Odd-Eyes Light Phoenix"

The spiral flame collided with my swordsman's fiery blade, and the force of the clash created a massive shockwave. Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon was obliterated, and the recoil hit Yuya hard. But Ultimate flame swordsman wasn't finished, as its Sword Ignited further as he charged for the Unicorn, destroying it in one strike."

Yuya's LP: 4000 → 1600

"You're reckless," I said, my voice calm but firm. "Charging in without thinking won't get you anywhere."

But Yuya didn't flinch. Instead, his anger seemed to burn brighter. "Reckless?!" he snarled. "You don't get to lecture me! You're the reckless one, invading other dimensions and hurting innocent people!"

I frowned, his words stabbing deeper than I expected, it was starting to piss me off. "Yuya, I don't know where you're getting this, but I told you—I didn't do anything like that."

"You're lying!" Yuya shouted, his voice cracking with rage "I place one card and end my turn."

"During the end phase, Ultimate Flame swordsman disappears since I used its effect." I said as the swordsman disappeared in a blaze of flames. "Now, my turn."

Turn 3

Kai

Hand: 4

LP: 4000

Yuya

Hand: 0

LP: 1600

Yoko's gaze swept over the field, her expression filled with awe. "Kai managed to clear Yuya's field and deal damage, even though it wasn't his turn. Now I understand why Sora always praises him. The way he commands those dragons... it's so precise, so powerful. It reminds me of Yusho." A tear slid down her cheek as memories of her husband surfaced, but she quickly wiped it away, her focus returning to the duel as Kai prepared his next move.

Kai smirked, exuding confidence. "I activate Red-Eyes Alternative Dragon! By tributing Red-Eyes Black dragon in my hand, I can summon it to the field." The fiery dragon roared as it emerged, its dark scales gleaming ominously.

Red-Eyes Alternative Dragon LV7 (ATK 2400/DEF 2000)

"And now," Kai declared, "I'll end this duel-"

"Not so fast!" Yuya interrupted. "I activate the trap card Time Pendulumgraph. By targeting one magician in my pendulum scale, I can target one monster you control and destroy it! I'll choose your Red-Eyes Alternative dragon"

"That aint good, since when did he get that card!!"

"Since I decided I was going to make you pay for your crimes. Now end your turn."

"I set one card face down. Your move."

Turn 4

Kai's

Hand 1

LP: 4000

Yuya

Hand: 1

LP: 1600

Yuya clenched his fists as he drew his card, the tension in the air thick enough to cut. His gaze burned with determination as a smile made his way to his face. This unnerved me as my field was also empty. One right move and he would be able to summon all his monsters back to the field.

"I'm not done yet, Kai," Yuya growled, his voice low but brimming with determination. He slapped the card he drew onto his Duel Disk. "I will once again set the pendulum scale using Scale 8 Performapal Odd-Eyes Unicorn and Scale 3 Performapal Odd-Eyes Light Phoenix, I'm taking control of this duel starting now!"

Yuya's monster rose up from his right in the empty pendulum zone, the pendulum now appearing above him.

"Now once again, my monsters are ready to swing into action, I can Pendulum Summon monsters from Level 4 through 7!" Yuya declared, the Pendulum Scale lighting up with energy as his monsters entered from the hole. "Pendulum Summon! Come forth, Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer and Performapal Light Pheonix!"

Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon LV7 (ATK 2500/2000)

Performapal Odd-Eyes Light Phoenix LV5 (ATK 2000/DEF 1000)

Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer LV4 (ATK 1500/ DEF 600)

Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon roared onto the field, its fiery aura cutting through the tension.

"Next, I'll activate the Pendulum effect of Performapal Odd-Eyes Unicorn! It increases the ATK of one monster I control by 1000 until the end of this turn. I target Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!"

Odd-Eyes let out another roar as its power surged.

Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon LV7 (ATK 3500/2000)

"Now Odd-Eyes, attack with spiral flame strike!" Yuya commanded, his voice filled with raw emotion.

"Hate to disappoint but that won't be happening. I activate the face down Defence Draw!" I stretched out my hand revealing my face-down. "This makes the battle damage I take reduce to 0 and lets me draw a card."

Yuya gritted his teeth. "Fine then! But how will you take the rest of the damage." The rest of Yuya's monsters charged, the force of the blow too much for me to handle, I got sent flying.

Kai LP: 4000 → 500

"Kai!" Yoko shouted, worriedly as I struggled to get to my feet. Looking hazily towards Yuya's monsters, Odd-Eyes caught my attention. It's eyes glaring at me with passion, as if holding some grudge for some past run-in. Suddenly a dragon in my hand appeared in my mind. I looked down as one card in my hand starting shinning soon after. It was the card I just drew. Just what I need to summon it. Red-Eyes Black Dragon! It was raring to go.

"You want to help me, huh pal! Alright then. You can come out to play." I looked back towards Yuya, newfound confidence burning from within me.

"What you smiling at." Yuya snapped.

"The fact that I'll be making my comeback." I answered as Yuya scowled. With none of us having nothing else to say, I drew my card.

Turn 5

Kai's

Hand 1

LP: 500

Yuya

Hand: 1

LP: 1600

"First things first, Pot of Greed! With it, I draw two cards," Kai declared, his voice steady and confident as he slid the card into his graveyard. The duel disk on his arm hummed as he prepared his next move. "Then I'll activate the Spell Card, Return of the Dragon Lords! This card allows me to summon one Level 7 or 8 Dragon from my Graveyard. I summon Red-Eyes Black Dragon!"

Red-Eyes Black Dragon LV7 (ATK 2400/DEF 2000)

The iconic, ebony-scaled dragon rose onto the field with a deafening roar, its fiery eyes gleaming with primal intensity.

Kai's lips curled into a grin. "Next, I'll Normal Summon Dragon Knight of Creation to really get this party started!" The knight emerged, clad in radiant armor, his sword glimmering with the power of dragons.

Dragon Knight of Creation LV4 (ATK 1800/DEF 600)

Without hesitation, Kai pointed toward Yuya's field. "Time for battle! Red-Eyes Black Dragon, attack Performapal Light Phoenix! Inferno Fire Blast!"

The black dragon unleashed a massive orb of flames, the crackling heat engulfing Yuya's side of the field in a fiery explosion. Smoke swirled and dissipated, leaving the smouldering remains of Yuya's Light Phoenix.

Kai didn't relent. "This show isn't over yet! Dragon Knight of Creation, attack Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer! Draconic Judgment Slash!"

The knight charged forward, his blade glowing with radiant energy as he swung, cleaving Yuya's Pendulum Sorcerer in two. The holographic shards scattered before vanishing, leaving only Yuya's remaining monster on the field.

Yuya stood firm, though his brows furrowed. "Since my monsters are Pendulum Monsters, they go to the Extra Deck."

Kai smirked, confidence radiating from him. "Maybe, but your Odd-Eyes isn't coming back."

Both Yuya and Yoko's eyes widened in confusion as Kai continued, his tone sharp with determination. "I activate my Dragon Knight of Creation's effect! Since it destroyed a monster in battle, I can send one Dragon from my Deck to the Graveyard. Then, by sending both it and a card from my hand to the Graveyard, I can summon any Dragon I want from my Graveyard!"

Kai's voice rose, filled with fierce pride and focus. "So, say hello to the supreme ruler of the skies—Divine Dragon Lord Felgrand!"

Divine Dragon Lord Felgrand LV8 (ATK 2800/DEF 2800)

The air grew heavy as a brilliant light erupted from Kai's field. The regal, angelic dragon emerged, its shimmering wings stretching wide as it hovered majestically above the battlefield. The sheer presence of the beast radiated power, casting an ethereal glow over the duel.

The door suddenly burst open with a loud crash, and Yuzu stumbled into the room, gasping for breath. "Where… where are they?" she managed, her eyes frantically searching the room.

Yoko's heart skipped a beat as she pointed toward the dueling field. Her voice trembled, "There…" Her eyes were fixed on the blinding light radiating from the battlefield, where Divine Dragon Lord Felgrand had just appeared, its majestic wings shimmering with an ethereal glow. Yuzu's eyes widened as she saw the dazzling creature, her mouth falling open in awe.

"Felgrand…" Yuzu whispered, captivated by the dragon's beauty. But her attention snapped back to the intense atmosphere between the two duelists.

Kai's voice echoed with unwavering certainty, breaking the silence. "And with Felgrand's appearance, your last monster is gone. I activate its effect to banish your Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon! And with that, my dragon's power rises to 3500 ATK!"

Divine Dragon Lord Felgrand LV8 (ATK 3500/DEF 2800)

The ground seemed to tremble as Felgrand unleashed a wave of brilliant energy, causing Yuya's Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon to disintegrate in a flash of light. The roar of Felgrand's power echoed across the field, but that was nothing compared to the silence that followed.

Yuzu took a step back, her breath caught in her throat. "Kai's… serious," she whispered, the weight of the moment pressing down on her.

Yoko's eyes filled with worry as she clasped her hands together, her voice quivering. "I'm… I'm really worried now. They've been duelling for so long... this isn't just a game anymore."

Yuzu placed a hand on Yoko's back, trying to reassure her despite the rising tension. "Don't worry," she said, her voice steady despite her own inner turmoil. "Kai is strong. I know he can bring Yuya back… he will."

But just as she finished speaking, the air around them began to shift. A low, ominous growl seemed to reverberate through the room, sending a chill down their spines.

"Odd-Eyes…"

The voice that came from Yuya wasn't just defeated—it was filled with raw anguish, something darker than they'd ever heard before. Yuzu and Yoko turned toward him as his form seemed to tremble with the intensity of his emotions.

Yuya was crouched on all fours, his back arched, and his hands gripping the ground like claws. His hair hung in wild strands, obscuring his eyes. But they could still see the seething anger and pain in his posture.

"Odd-Eyes…" Yuya repeated, his voice breaking as he lifted his head. His eyes were bloodshot, his tear-streaked face twisted with a fury that sent a shiver through both Yuzu and Yoko. The once vibrant light in his eyes had been replaced by something dark and consuming.

Suddenly, the wind began to howl, whipping around the room with a violent force. Papers fluttered off desks, and the lights flickered as the oppressive aura around Yuya grew stronger. It wasn't just a duel—it was as though the very atmosphere was reacting to his anger.

"You banished Odd-Eyes…" Yuya's voice was a growl now, filled with so much hatred and pain that it almost felt like it could tear the room apart. "I'll make you regret that, Kai."

The ground around him cracked as his emotions exploded outward, a dark, swirling energy rising from the depths of his soul. The wind howled with increasing intensity, blowing papers and debris into the air. His body trembled with the sheer force of his rage, and his hair whipped around as his eyes glared at Kai, wild and untamed.

Abandoned building

In the dimly lit room of the abandoned building, the remnants of the three XYZ Duelists were gathered, each one caught in their own turmoil. The atmosphere was heavy with unease, the silence broken only by the strained breathing of Yuto, who was on all fours, struggling against Shay's hold. His body trembled with rage, and his fists clenched at the air as if trying to reach for something just out of his grasp.

"Kai! He needs to pay," Yuto repeated over and over, his voice filled with frustration and vengeance, as though the words themselves were a mantra to fuel his fury. His eyes were bloodshot, wild, desperate, consumed by the need for retribution.

Shay was kneeling behind him, struggling to keep Yuto under control. His arms wrapped tightly around the enraged duelist's torso, but even then, Yuto's energy surged like an uncontrollable force. Shay gritted his teeth, his muscles straining as he fought to keep Yuto from breaking free.

"Any help here?" Shay asked, his voice tinged with frustration as he struggled to hold onto his friend. His face was drawn with concern, but he had no idea what to do—Yuto's rage was like nothing he had ever witnessed before.

Yuma stood a few steps back, his mind elsewhere, unbothered by the chaos happening in front as he stared intently at a card in his hand. The card was glowing faintly, a soft, pulsing light that seemed to beckon, as if the card itself was fighting to be released from his grip. His thoughts were elsewhere, far beyond the room they stood in.

"There's a battle," Yuma murmured, his voice distant, his gaze locked on something only he could see. His eyes flickered, filled with something akin to realization—but also confusion. It was as though he were staring into a space beyond the physical, his senses tingling with a strange premonition.

Shay shot a confused glance at him. "What the hell are you talking about? What battle?"

Yuma didn't answer immediately. Instead, he stared at the glowing XYZ card, his fingers tightening around its edges. His eyes narrowed, as though reading something invisible in the air itself.

"I don't know," Yuma admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. "But it involves Kai." He looked up at Shay, a deep furrow in his brow. "And for some reason… Utopia wants to help."

"Whose he battling?" Shay asked, his voice genuinely interested despite the chaos around him. His grip on Yuto tightened again as his friend continued to struggle beneath him, thrashing wildly in a desperate attempt to break free.

Yuma's eyes remained locked on the glowing card, his brow furrowed in concentration. His fingers drummed anxiously on the edges of the card as he tried to piece together the fragmented sensation pulling at his senses.

"I don't know," Yuma admitted with a sigh, his voice distant and frustrated. "I can't see the match clearly. It's more like... a feeling. Like I can sense he's in one, but I don't know who he's up against." His words hung in the air, heavy with confusion. "But it's real. Something is happening—something Kai is facing... and it's calling out to me."

Shay's confusion deepened, though his grip on Yuto tightened as his friend's body convulsed beneath him, the anger coursing through him like a wild storm. "A feeling? What do you mean, Yuma? This isn't just some random hunch, right? You're saying Utopia is reacting to it?"

Yuma nodded slowly, his eyes still distant, as if his mind were somewhere else entirely. "Yeah…"

Shay's grip on Yuto faltered for a brief moment, his concern for his friend growing by the second. Yuto was still thrashing beneath him, unable to hear or comprehend the situation as the rage inside him kept him locked in a battle of its own. But Shay couldn't ignore the weight of Yuma's words—something more was at play here, and the answers were somewhere in the darkness.

Back in the You Show Duel School

Kai stood firm, though struggling to stop himself from being sent flying. He covered his face with his arm, as though helping, his grip on his duel disk tightened, a look of determination etched on his face. Red-Eyes Black Dragon roared fiercely, moving in front of Kai, as if protecting his master. "Come at me with everything you've got, Yuya," Kai declared, his voice unwavering. "If that's the only way to pull you back from this, then I'll take it."

Yuzu's heart raced, her stomach churning with unease. She could feel the tension in the air, the fight for Yuya's soul hanging by a thread. "Yuya, please..." she whispered, though the words barely escaped her lips over the roaring wind.

Yoko, still trembling, turned to Yuzu, worry clouding her features. "This isn't just a duel anymore. This is something else. Something Yuya's... really hurting."

Yuzu clenched her fists, her eyes locked on Yuya, her voice barely audible over the wind's howls. "Please, Yuya, you can still come back from this." Her words felt like a fragile hope in the face of the raging storm Yuya had become.

But the only response was the dark, echoed growl of his voice, the wind picking up and sending gusts through the room.

"Odd-Eyes will never be forgotten…" Yuya's eyes flared with an unyielding fire. "You'll see, Kai. You'll regret this."

It was chaos on all sides!!

Author's Note:

Seems like shits going down. Yuya is absolutely furious at Kai, and Kai has no idea why. His anger seems to have a life of its own, driving him forward in a battle that's not just about cards anymore. On the other side, Yoko is struggling, watching the two people she considers family clash with so much emotion and intensity. It's tearing her apart to see them like this, especially when she can feel the bond between them slipping away, even if it's only temporary. The duel isn't over—far from it. Both Yuya and Kai are giving everything they've got. Wonder what's going on with Yuto too. He seems to be just as enraged as Yuya. And what's this connection Kai and Yuma seem to have?
