Chapter 15: TST [15]
Isla removed her helmet and took a deep breath, casting a slightly dejected look at Morgan.
"This Duel... there's no doubt I lost. According to our agreement, I'll hand over the rare card I wagered."
She drew a card from her Duel Disk and handed it to Morgan—Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier.
Morgan accepted it with composure, glancing at Isla with a playful smile.
Just then, Jade hopped over the railing and ran happily toward Morgan, her full chest bouncing dramatically.
She opened her arms wide and suddenly grabbed Morgan's head in a tight embrace.
"Mmmf—!"
Boob Slam!
Morgan had just finished a Speed Duel, and her trembling legs were already exhausted. Her pencil-straight thighs wobbled like brittle reeds, unable to bear Jade's weight. She was promptly toppled to the ground.
Her hair was wildly tousled by Jade's enthusiastic hands.
"Haha, Morgan, you really did it! I finally got to see that icy witch Isla with a look of total defeat—what a rush!"
Hearing Jade's unrestrained taunts, Isla, still recovering from her loss, was incensed. She yanked Jade off Morgan and glared furiously.
"Who are you calling an icy witch?!"
"Whoever agreed to it, obviously!"
Jade shot back without flinching.
"You—!"
Isla's face flushed red with anger. She almost lost control, but Jade's next words caught her off guard.
"Hehe, before the Duel, didn't you add a condition?"
Jade puffed her chest and gave Isla a cheeky grin.
"You said if you won, Morgan had to agree to one request. But since you lost, shouldn't you now agree to her request instead?"
Isla was at a loss for words. She had assumed victory was certain, planning to use it as a way to make amends with Morgan and maybe even become friends.
She had never considered the possibility of losing...
…What kind of request would Morgan make?
Isla sneaked a glance at her.
Morgan was struggling to stand. Though her wounds had healed, months of bed rest had left her physically weak.
At the same time, a system notification popped up—Dueling meant Duel EXP and Duel Points after all.
[Congratulations. You have won the Duel.]
⌜Duel EXP: 500⌟
⌜Duel Points: 500⌟
⌜Skill: Calm Mind LV3⌟
'500 Duel Points?!'
That surprised Morgan. After all, defeating a Bronze-rank opponent usually only earned a few dozen Duel Points. Clearly, most Duelists had worrying levels of skill—some not even as good as kids.
More importantly, Calm Mind had leveled up to LV3!
Now, if only she could get a D-Wheel. A skateboard couldn't be used for Accel Synchro.
Without Accel Synchro, how was she supposed to surpass Light?
She glanced toward Isla, who was now blushing and fidgeting like a lamb awaiting judgment.
Morgan smiled and was about to speak—when a sudden beam of light swept across them.
"Who's there?!"
"Unauthorized Speed Duel on school grounds! State your student ID numbers!"
All three of them jumped. Isla reacted fastest, grabbing her Duel Skateboard and bolting for the exit.
Morgan and Jade also sprang into action. Seeing the patrol teacher approaching fast, they picked another direction and dashed for the emergency exit.
"Crap! Run! If we get caught, we could be punished or even expelled!"
Jade was pale with fear, like a startled rabbit.
The patrol teacher arrived where they had just been and, seeing them split up, stomped in frustration before choosing to chase after Isla.
Morgan and Jade ran out of the arena and, panting, glanced back. Seeing no one in pursuit, they both let out a sigh of relief.
"Whew, close one. Looks like he went after Isla. If I got expelled, my mom would murder me."
Jade placed a hand on her chest, trying to calm herself.
"Sorry for dragging you into this," Morgan said apologetically.
"No worries, as long as I get to squeeze you, it's all good!"
"...?"
Morgan suddenly realized that everyone around her was a little... off.
"But did you notice how weird Isla's eyes looked when she watched you today? I think she's up to something!"
Jade whispered conspiratorially.
Morgan gave her a helpless look.
"You've got it all wrong. If I'm right, she probably just wants to be friends."
"Friends? That icy witch?!"
Jade was floored. She hadn't considered that possibility at all.
"Well... maybe everyone has their own way of making friends. We might've misunderstood."
Morgan gazed into the dark night and spoke softly.
It was already late. The two shared a few final words before parting ways since Jade had strict parents and wasn't allowed to stay out too long at night.
After they left, a slender figure stepped from behind a building.
It was Isla who had successfully escaped the patrol teacher.
She stared blankly in the direction Morgan had gone before her cheeks flushed deep red.
