The shrill mechanical screech echoed in everyone's ears, making their breathing quicken involuntarily.
Everyone present was a skilled Duelist, so they wouldn't be frightened by a 2500 ATK monster alone.
But the pressure released in that brief instant had truly taken their breath away.
It felt as though, in the next moment, that mechanical dragon would charge at them and tear them all apart!
Even worse, they couldn't even resist it!
"So this is a monster summoned with the power of spirits..."
Noir's expression was unusually shaken, his typically unflappable demeanor lost.
He clutched his chest with his left hand, feeling his violently beating heart. Looking down at Kai, Noir made a firm decision in his mind: This was not someone he could afford to provoke!
Marina, too, was silently startled… Was this Kai's true power?
Its ATK might not match [Cyber End Dragon]'s, but the sheer oppressive force it exuded—This monster surely had a terrifying effect!
In the Dueling Arena, Gavin stared up at the massive dragon head looming above him, instinctively stepping back.
The spectators only felt the shockwave—he was bearing the full force of it.
If not for sheer willpower, Gavin suspected he would have collapsed to his knees.
"[Cyber Dragon Infinity]'s first effect!"
"This card gains 200 ATK for each Xyz Material attached to it."
"It currently has two, so it gains 400 ATK!"
[Cyber Dragon Infinity] roared, its body expanding.
"Next, I use [Cyber Dragon], [Cyber Dragon Core], and [Clockwork Knight] on the field as Link Materials!"
"Link Summon!"
White link circuits appeared once more before Kai!
Gavin snapped out of [Cyber Dragon Infinity]'s pressure at the sound of Kai's voice.
Instinctively, he retorted, "Impossible, Cyber Dragons don't have a Link-3 monster!"
"I never said I was summoning a Cyber Dragon monster."
As Kai spoke, the three monsters turned into streams of light and entered the Link Circuit.
"Soul of the machine, breach the barriers of dimension! Construct the path of the future with the light of dawn!"
"Link Summon! Link-3! Come forth! [Mecha Phantom Beast Auroradon]!"
Multicolored light shimmered, and what appeared was not a mechanical dragon—But a sleek, black combat aircraft!

"Mecha Phantom Beasts?!"
Someone among the onlookers gasped, their tone shifting from amusement to astonishment.
Everyone turned to look. Realizing his outburst, the speaker waved awkwardly, signaling not to mind him.
"Recognized by both Cyber Dragons and Mecha Phantom Beasts..."
"I'm jealous."
Noir clicked his tongue in admiration. Just possessing the power of Cyber Dragons was impressive enough…Yet, to think Kai also wielded Mecha Phantom Beasts.
Perhaps he didn't have a full Mecha Phantom Beast Deck; despite that, if he could summon [Mecha Phantom Beast Auroradon], he clearly could use cards from that series.
In this world of card spirits, to be loved by two archetypes—That was truly enviable. No wonder someone had lost their composure earlier.
In the Arena, Kai pointed to the black aircraft and called out:
"I activate [Mecha Phantom Beast Auroradon]'s on-summon effect!"
"If this card is Link Summoned: Special Summon 3 [Mecha Phantom Beast Tokens] to my field."
"And I can't Link Summon this turn."
Light flared from [Mecha Phantom Beast Auroradon] as three fighter jet-shaped shadows detached and appeared on Kai's field.

Kai looked at [Mecha Phantom Beast Auroradon] and sighed. If only he had brought Jet Synchron too… Then he could turn it into Auroradon, and building a Synchro Deck would've been no issue.
Too bad Jet Synchron had long been banned, and Kai hadn't added it to his Deck, though he still owned a copy.
Now he had to figure out where to get another one… Tricky.
Still, Jet Synchron could wait. First, he had to handle this Duel.
"Next, I activate [Mecha Phantom Beast Auroradon]'s second effect!"
"Once per turn, I can Tribute up to 3 monsters; apply one of the following effects based on how many were Tributed."
● 1: Destroy 1 card on the field.
● 2: Special Summon 1 "Mecha Phantom Beast" monster from my Deck.
● 3: Add 1 Trap Card from my Graveyard to my hand.
"I Tribute 1 [Mecha Phantom Beast Token] and [Mecha Phantom Beast Auroradon] to Special Summon a 'Mecha Phantom Beast' monster from my Deck!"
A colorful glow descended, consuming the two monsters, and within the light, stardust began to shine!
"I Special Summon [Mecha Phantom Beast O-Lion]!"
From the colorful radiance emerged a satellite-like monster!

"A Tuner Monster?!"
"Don't tell me..."
A bad feeling welled up in Gavin's chest.
Link, Xyz, Fusion—and now a Tuner.
Could he be going for a Synchro next?
Do Cyber Dragons even have Synchro Monsters?
"Yes, that 'don't tell me'!"
"I tune [Mecha Phantom Beast O-Lion] with [Mecha Phantom Beast Token]!"
[O-Lion]'s body faded, transforming into shimmering stars.
The stars expanded, forming a green ring that enveloped the Token as its form dissolved into starlight and radiating brightly!
"Gathered hopes, become the power of speed! Miracle of light and machine, become a shining path!"
"Synchro Summon! [Accel Synchron]!"
Starlight expanded into a glowing highway.
From the light burst forth a red Duel Runner, which transformed mid-air into a humanoid figure.
