Chapter 450: ◙ BABE ◙
Yanarym- Yanarym was like her only family left. Gale's only sister even not by blood. She may hate and envy Yanarym but Yanarym was still the only person left with her. The only genuine person who cared for her was now dead. She killed, Gale blamed herself too, she is the reason why she died!
Guide-sama: "Yanarym, you died."
Yanarym opened her eyes, but there was nothing but darkness. The plan failed?
Guide-sama: "That was your plan? Suicide?"
"Well, what do a human couldn't control Guide-sama?"
Guide-sama: "You."
"Wrong, it's death."
Guide-sama: "Your plan was to die?"
"It's not to die, I was planning to do an attempted suicide."
Guide-sama: "You failed."
"I know, they were a little late coming to save me, what a shame." She didn't panic, she felt… comfortable in the darkness, she tried to move but she couldn't feel her body as well. Now she wonders, where is she? "So, didn't I finish the task?"
Guide-sama: "You died before we could know. There's no way of us knowing if you accomplished it."
"And what will happen now? Is this the punishment for not completing the task?"
Guide-sama: "No, we are in the void. Your punishment will be decided in the next world."
"What's that? What's void?"
Guide-sama: "This is where the consciousness goes if it's unsure where to head."
"Okay, what will happen?"
Guide-sama: "You have to return to the fifth world, you cannot proceed if you couldn't complete the task."
"... Back from square one?"
Guide-sama: "You could revive yourself."
"Let's do that."
Guide-sama: "However, if you do that- the consequence will be a lot heavier. But if you choose to begin again, it will be a lighter consequence."
"... I want revival- I'm almost done completing the task, I'm not doing it all over again."
Three minutes after the announcement of the death of Yanarym, the nurse that was assisting her body, cleaning up the machine noticed the monitor was making small waves of frequency… she was breathing again! She called the doctor who was talking to the patient's guardian.
"DOC! SHE'S ALIVE!" Gale heard that and she became upright on her feet. The doctor abruptly came back to the operating room. Hansel's blood was connected to her for a transfer. It took them five hours of operation to make Yanarym stabilized.
Hansel and Spencer that both lost consciousness became alive after hearing that she survived- that there was a miracle. She was placed on the ICU for observation- Hansel, even though he didn't have enough energy to walk around- he insisted on going to the ICU to see her. He saw Spencer there too, Spencer was just staring at her.
Hansel's eyes shifted to Yanarym and she still looked so pale, he looked at the monitor and saw it making sounds and waves… Hansel usually hates noise but that monitor sound makes him calm down. He walked towards her and ignored Spencer.
She's alive… he closed his eyes and felt the pulse in her chest.
"The detective needed to talk to you," Spencer said in a dry tone. Hansel didn't reply. "They wanted to know why she tried to die …"
"Reason? Don't you know the reason? It's you."
"Me? What about you Hansel? Have you asked yourself? What did you do?" Spencer uttered and that made Hansel pause, "You know that you did something too. You were with her! You know what caused this to happen! She was with you for two days Hansel, two fucking days! And she committed suicide!"
Spencer was right, maybe he was the reason why Yanarym wanted to die... but Hansel would not agree with Spencer because it was solely his fault. The main reason why this all happened was him! It was Spencer's!
"SHUT UP!" Hansel yelled at him, he was about to refute but a nurse came.
"Sir, excuse me, you can't argue here. The patient needs to rest." Both of them looked at Yanarym who was still in her worst state. Both decided to leave Yanarym to rest.
Hansel chose to leave, so he decided to walk outside to get some fresh air. As he was calming his nerves, he could remember that night when he insisted on her to stay. If he let her leave, will this all not happen?
There was nothing in this world he couldn't have. When he thought that he could have her- he was wrong. Turns out, he couldn't have her at all. Although he had proven that she likes him- she chose not to stay by his side. She chose to die instead.
For the first time, Hansel lost. There was something he couldn't have. There's a game he couldn't win. There's a person who doesn't want him. He looked at the sky and there were no stars... He remembered that time in the operating room, everything was fuzzy, but there was one thing he could see clearly.
Her- losing her, not being able to see her smile, not being able to feel her warmth. And he couldn't do anything to make her stay. He couldn't even touch her at that very moment, he could give up his life but she would still die... Hansel closed his eyes firmly.
He thought that- it's better not to have her if he would lose her entirety. He will give her up. This time, he admits that he lost. He couldn't help but laugh, would he rather surrender than to see her die?
He never thought that in this life, he would apply the word of giving up as an action. Maybe he likes her too much- he likes her too much... he loves her too much.
Three days after being unconscious, Yanarym woke up. Gale was the first person she saw, "Rym!" When Gale saw her open her eyes. Gale sprinted to her side and began to cry, she felt so happy seeing her open her eyes.
"Rym, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that to you." She embraced Yanarym, when Gale was done rejoicing she looked at Yanarym and Yanarym seemed to be confused.
"I'm alive?" Gale was stunned, her lips formed a straight line and slapped Yanarym's arm.
"Yes, you are! Of course, you are! Why did you even do that?!" Yanarym did not respond and Gale cried again, "Don't do that! Don't try to kill yourself again!" Seeing that Yanarym was unresponsive, Gale rumbled, "...was I the reason? Did I become too bitchy? Because I had, because of Spencer? Is that the reason?" Yanarym finally shifted her attention to Gale and shook her head.
"No."
"Then, why?!" Gale yelled, Yanarym smiled at her.
"You know, you will always be my best friend," Yanarym said, Gale paused. She did all of the awful, wretched things to Yanarym but she could discern that even without sorry, Yanarym forgave her.
"I know."
"If it's you, it's okay to give up Spencer, if you like him too much, I will give him to you. You can take care of him better than me."
"No, no, I don't like him anymore, it was a mistake. I was jealous of you and envied your life with Spencer. I envied how he treats you so well- I thought if I had him too- my life would be better too. I.was wrong."
"It's alright, it's not your fault, it was no one's fault." She mumbled and the door slid open, Spencer came in and he saw that Yanarym was talking to Gale. His eyes widened and rushed to her.
"Rym! You're awake?!" He exclaimed and looked at Gale, "Did you call the doctor? Call them now!" Gale, who forgot to call the doctor, complied and ran out of the room.
"Hey, baby, how do you feel? Are you in pain? Are you alright?" Spencer cupped Yanarym's face and stared deep into her eyes. She smiled at him and
"I'm fine."
"Baby… baby, why did you do that? Hmm? Why did you try to kill yourself?" She looked away from him as if she was sorry and evasive about something. Spencer didn't want to probe, the least he wanted to do was annoy her. "Don't answer it, it was a silly question. Are you hungry? Do you want to eat an apple? Should I peel one for you?"
"An apple would be good," he smiled hearing her talk to him. "I'm sorry for leaving that day Spencer."
"Baby, don't worry about anything, I should be sorry, I did so many things that you shouldn't have forgiven but you did." He reached out to her forehead and kissed her. "Let's be so much happier from now on."
"Spencer." Yanarym coldly called him, Spencer stiffened but he feigned ignorance by the way she… even her eyes were frigid.
"W..why? Why baby? Do you need something?" He stuttered and smiled widely. She looked away and sighed. "Baby?"
"Spencer-"
"Baby, stop calling me Spencer, I'm your babe." He bit his lower lips, he couldn't hold it, hearing her saying his name unaffectionately- it irks him.
