Wizard: I Can Refine Everything

Chapter 8: The Future White Wolf King

The heterochromatic eyes of White looked at the Young Master with some unease, as if something terrifying resided within those different-colored pupils.

"White, what's wrong with your eyes?"

"... It's somewhat complicated to explain." White glanced at the female werewolf beside him, his eyes full of wariness.

"Young Master, do you need me to deal with this person?"

The female werewolf's eyes narrowed slightly. In this Shadow Guard, she felt a hint of deadly danger.

Could it be that this small Shadow Guard is also a top-notch expert?

"No, no, this is Miss Zhen, the physician who has been treating me. During this period, I've been relying on her care."

"Physician?" White's heart trembled, and he quickly shifted his gaze back to the Young Master, "Are you injured?"

The Young Master scratched his head: "It seems there was an issue with my Bloodline Awakening. When I first arrived here, I coughed up blood. Luckily, Miss Zhen treated me, and I got a little better."

"That's a normal phenomenon," Richard's voice sounded in White's ear, "His strength is too weak while the awakened bloodline is too powerful. During the Bloodline Awakening process, his body can easily be overwhelmed by the power from the bloodline."

White turned to look at Miss Zhen and bowed respectfully.

"Thank you, miss, for healing my Young Master. I was impolite earlier."

Miss Zhen examined White, and when she saw the prosthetic limb on his left arm, a hint of surprise flashed in her eyes.

"Ordinary prosthetics are made of spiritual wood for lightness. But why is this one made of metal? To use this prosthetic to pass through the layers of Lu Family's defenses and silently take down two Iron Armor Guards, is this person really a Shadow Guard?"

She glanced at the Young Master from the corner of her eye, and seeing no trace of doubt on his face, she temporarily suppressed her doubts.

"To travel thousands of miles to find your master, you are indeed a loyal and brave person. It's understandable to be anxious upon seeing your master, please rise quickly."

Miss Zhen stepped forward to help White up, when suddenly, a loud bell rang from outside the building.

"Hmm?" Miss Zhen looked out the window, her expression slightly astonished.

"You didn't kill the Iron Armor Guards downstairs?"

White shook his head: "No. Just temporarily trapped them."

Trapped them?

Miss Zhen was even more shocked, as she was fully aware of the strength of the Iron Armor Guards, which she had personally crafted. Yet before her, this self-proclaimed Shadow Guard, seemingly no older than her, could, with such a cumbersome prosthetic, pass through the layers of Lu Family's defenses and then trap the Iron Armor Guards in no time.

Even the Family Head of the Lu Family might not be able to achieve this, right?

"Your skills are truly impressive." Miss Zhen praised.

Then she pulled out a bronze mirror from her sleeve and spoke to it: "No accidents, no need for support."

After speaking, she put away the bronze mirror, and respectfully said to the Young Master: "Young Master of the Quan family, you and your servant have much to discuss. I need to prepare your elixirs for tomorrow, so I won't stay here any longer."

The Young Master bowed slightly to Miss Zhen.

"Take care, m'lady."

After Miss Zhen left, the Young Master's expression immediately changed. He looked at White with a face full of remorse.

"Was it not enough that the Evil Ghost devoured your arm?"

He knew about White's deal with the Evil Ghost. He was present when White severed his left arm and attached the prosthetic.

White lowered his head slightly: "Young Master, there is no need for this. I am your Shadow Guard, and for your safety, I can sacrifice my life."

The Young Master sighed slightly, the sorrow in his eyes as deep blue as the ocean.

It had been a month since the Quan family was annihilated, yet for the Young Master, it felt as if it happened just yesterday.

"Since you survived, stop making deals," the Young Master gently told White, "The Lu Family is very safe, and Uncle Lu has been taking good care of me. Recently, he just sent off the people from the Peng Family."

White was silent for a moment, then slowly spoke: "Young Master, do you know the origin of your bloodline?"

The Young Master was slightly taken aback.

"I don't know, but Miss Zhen mentioned that my bloodline might be related to the ancient White Wolf King. Perhaps it's the bloodline of one of the White Wolf King's top generals."

"Wrong, wrong."

Richard's voice echoed in White's ear.

"Either those people are ignorant, or they are deliberately hiding it. This little guy has awakened the bloodline of the White Wolf King. I can sense the world's favor with just the prosthetic eye."

White quietly said to the Young Master: "Young Master, your bloodline is not from the generals under the White Wolf King. You have awakened the bloodline of the White Wolf King."

"What?"

The Young Master was stunned by White's words. As an aristocratic family, the Quan family had many ancient texts. In the texts, the last White Wolf King was said to have no offspring.

But soon, the Young Master realized it. He stared at White's heterochromatic eyes, as if trying to see Richard's true form through the prosthetic eye.

"Did the Evil Ghost tell you that?"

"Yes."

Upon receiving confirmation, a hint of golden light flickered in the Young Master's eyes. An invisible and terrifying pressure emanated from White's body.

"Evil Ghost, what do you want?"

The Young Master's voice no longer carried any childishness, as imposing as an Emperor. However, behind the prosthetic eye, Richard merely smiled disdainfully.

"Kids are always like this, always thinking they're invincible after gaining a shred of power."

With that, a space rift opened in Ben's palm. A faint, yet genuine pressure of the World Master descended upon the room.

The next moment, the golden light in the Young Master's eyes flared brightly, but quickly dissipated.

The Young Master was too weak; even with the White Wolf King bloodline, he was like a child wearing an adult's clothes.

Perhaps he could frighten some of his peers, but in the eyes of real adults, he was still just a child.

"Kid, you'd best tell your Young Master what you saw. He carries the White Wolf King's bloodline, which dooms his future destiny to be anything but ordinary.

If he is willing, I will support him as the new White Wolf King in the war five years from now.

Of course, if he's unwilling, I won't force him. But for his safety, his freedom will certainly be considerably restricted."

Richard's voice lost its previous nonchalance and warmth. As a Wizard, Richard was never a benevolent person. He was a shrewd businessman, willing to generously pay the price he deemed necessary for what he wanted. He would prepare magic potion prosthetics for Ben to do his bidding and would also issue threats to ensure a smoother future war.

"Young Master."

Ben's voice roused the somewhat shocked Young Master. He clutched his chest, unable to calm down for a long while.

"That... was that the aura of the Evil Ghost?"

"Yes, Young Master."

"... such a powerful Evil Ghost? Ben, I might not be able to save you."

Ben shook his head slightly, half-kneeling on the ground, and looked into the Young Master's eyes, speaking word by word: "You need not blame yourself. I am your Shadow Guard. For your safety, I can sacrifice everything."

The Young Master looked at Ben's serious expression, stepped forward, and patted his head.

"Mm, I understand."

...

"So you plan to support me as your puppet to conquer this world?"

The Young Master looked into Ben's eyes and asked calmly.

"You could say that." Richard's voice emerged from Ben's mouth, "But there's one thing you've got wrong. Your existence merely reduces the difficulty of my world conquest and increases efficiency.

Even if you refuse, this world will still be conquered by me, just with a bit more effort."

Just moments ago, Ben had conveyed everything he saw to the Young Master, including Richard's words.

Carrying the White Wolf King bloodline, the Quan family's Young Master held a legitimacy surpassing even the Immortal Country. The Immortal Country did not erase history in this world, and among the populace, the White Wolf King continued to be widely revered as a worshiped Divine. Even though the noble families repeatedly suppressed it, the faith in the White Wolf King was like something rooted in the werewolves' bones, constantly reemerging from somewhere unknown.

Hence, supporting the Quan family's Young Master as a puppet could significantly reduce the werewolves' resistance and allow the warriors embarking on the Evolution Road to serve him.

The world has long suffered under the noble families.

As long as the banner of the White Wolf King is raised, naturally, heroes will respond.

"I refuse." The Young Master's voice carried a calm determination.

"One Immortal Country is already enough, we don't need a second Immortal Country suppressing us."

"Oh?"

Richard's voice carried confusion.

"Why do you think that with my arrival, the Immortal Country would still continue to exist?"

The Young Master shook his head: "Divine of the Exotic Realm. You've never witnessed the terror of an Immortal; that power is beyond ordinary resistance."

"..."

Honestly, Richard had no desire to refute this claim.

First of all, the Young Master was a native, and the knowledge level of a native means understanding what there is to be understood. Secondly, Richard had indeed never seen an Immortal. Immortals usually stayed in the Immortal Country and only descended to the mortal world once a year to collect Elixir Materials and Immortal Fate.

Finally, the supremacy of the Immortals was deeply ingrained in the Young Master's mind.

The combination of these three factors meant there was no possibility of persuading the Young Master until he personally witnessed an Immortal being defeated.

"Sigh, forget it, there's no point in arguing with a child. In five years, you'll see for yourself."

With that, his spiritual power withdrew from Ben's soul.

Instead of getting angry at Richard's disdain, the Young Master responded in all earnestness: "If you can expel the Immortals, then you wouldn't need me as a puppet. The Immortals overthrew the White Wolf King by force, and there was no resistance. If you expel the Immortals, you can simply replicate their approach, no need to use me as a puppet, the abandoned Crown Prince of a former dynasty."

"... You'll know when the time comes."

No matter how clever the Young Master was, he was ultimately a product of the noble family's education. Perhaps he had a simple sympathy for the common people and was willing to do things for them. But in his heart, he still viewed commoners as a lower form of life.

He was unaware that the reason the commoners were weak under the noble family's rule was precisely because of that rule. He also could not envisage what the world would be like without the noble families.

"I look forward to that day." The Young Master bowed respectfully.
