Wizard: I Can Refine Everything

Chapter 7: Bloodline of the White Wolf King

Richard added many functions to the prosthetic limbs, from capture nets to advanced invisibility techniques. As long as he thought they could be useful in low-level battles and could be added through witchcraft, he integrated them.

The reason being not only his high requirements for his creations but also because adding witchcraft for him was as simple as adding an extra stroke when writing.

The prosthetic technology of the Goblins, and the Wizard's Alchemy Mechanical Science, were enough for Richard to create things a thousand times more complex than this.

After entering the invisible state, Bai silently crossed the city walls, heading towards the interior of the Mountain City.

Along the way, Bai became more convinced of his thoughts.

That guard was definitely lying.

The defenses in the Mountain City were very tight, with Samurai patrolling in teams within the city, each wearing full armor. In the shadows, Hidden Guards operating mechanical crossbows were lurking near every apparent patrol blind spot. Without a doubt, once any suspicious person approached through a blind spot, they would inevitably be shot like a hedgehog.

Moreover, apart from these conventional defense methods, Bai discovered many mirrors hidden in the corners along the main paths inside the city.

These mirrors seemed ordinary, but their placements were very concealed. It should be some form of Dao Artifact for surveillance.

Although the world's Dao Techniques are monopolized by the Seven Immortal Villages' envoys, Immortal Fate is beyond their control.

So-called Immortal Fate means fitting the conditions of an Immortal, selected to enter the Immortal Country and become an immortal's disciple. These people can still contact their family members in the mortal world through rituals, imparting some teachable Dao Techniques or sending out certain Elixirs.

The Dao Techniques and Immortal Pills circulating in this world mostly stem from this.

However, these defense measures are only effective against ordinary people. For Bai, these means are entirely useless.

What Bai uses is the advanced invisibility technique.

The effect of the advanced invisibility technique goes beyond mere optical stealth, including energy wave detection and spiritual detection within its invisibility range. General native detection methods are utterly useless before the advanced invisibility technique.

Bai only needed to pay attention to that suspected Dao Artifact mirror.

Whether or not the Immortal's items can detect Bai, who used the advanced invisibility technique, Richard was unsure.

Smoothly arriving at the Inner City, Bai began quietly searching for his Young Master.

The defense of the Inner City was much looser compared to the outer city, but this wasn't about carelessness. Rather, besides servants, most people living in the Inner City were Samurai, so sending guards to protect these people would be pure waste.

And this made Bai's search much smoother.

While searching, a somewhat desolate flute sound reached Bai's ears.

As a Shadow Guard of the Young Master, Bai was all too familiar with this flute sound. It was undoubtedly played by the Young Master of the Quan family.

"After searching for so long, finally found it."

Richard's teasing rang in Bai's ears, causing Bai to suddenly stop.

There is an emotion called fear upon nearing home.

Bai suddenly thought, having traded everything about himself to the Evil Ghost for power, could he really continue protecting the Young Master?

Everything Richard gave him was invaluable, but the only payment he could offer was his own life and soul.

Is this really enough?

"Evil Ghost, is there any part regarding the Young Master in our deal?"

"Hmm? Have you forgotten the contents of the contract?"

"Then there is?"

"Of course there is."

Richard's response sent Bai's heart plummeting.

"Our contract clearly states that you are to serve as my servant for five hundred years, and I shall grant you power and protect your Young Master."

"Protect?"

Bai's voice trembled slightly, realizing he had unknowingly included the Young Master in his dealings with the Evil Ghost.

"Is the Evil Ghost's protection really effective?"

"...It seems you really don't remember."

Richard's voice suddenly changed. Although the tone hadn't altered, Bai detected a mix of majesty and tenderness. The next moment, the scene before Bai's eyes abruptly shifted. Under his feet, countless green Evil Ghosts were training in a massive metallic city.

As a Samurai, Bai immediately recognized that these even more ferocious green Evil Ghosts were using killing skills, and with great proficiency.

"Are these all servants of the Evil Ghost?" thought Bai.

As far as he could see, the massive city was filled with these green Evil Ghosts, numbering at least hundreds of thousands.

Bai suddenly had a thought.

"Will I eventually become one of them?"

But as his perspective shifted, Bai quickly noticed something wrong. The background of these green Evil Ghosts didn't seem to be a regular sky. Ordinary skies wouldn't ripple, nor display diverse colors.

"Where is this?"

"The Star Realm."

"What is the Star Realm?"

"The Star Realm is the world of worlds."

Bai's brain suddenly throbbed with pain, fragments flashing before his eyes. In his memories, he inquired Richard about the purpose of this journey, and Richard told him that their mission was indeed for the world they were in.

Five years later, the Evil Ghost will lead his army to invade their world.

So he added the Young Master's name to the contract, so that the Young Master would not be harmed in the war five years from now.

"...I see." Bai muttered to himself.

Faced with the choice between the Young Master and the world, he chose the Young Master.

"Regret it?"

"...No regrets." Bai's gaze returned to calm, "Your invasion is an inevitable outcome. Since I cannot stop your invasion, I can only ensure that the Young Master won't be affected by you. Besides..." Bai paused for a moment, then continued, "Even if I could stop you, I would still do the same.

Protecting the Young Master is my mission."

Clap, clap...

A round of applause sounded in Bai's ears.

"Although this conviction sounds as foolish as being in love, if you can stick to it, it's quite commendable."

The illusion disappeared, and Bai followed the sound of the flute all the way forward, quickly arriving at a nine-story octagonal tower. The flute sound originated from the tower's top.

Bai was about to fly directly to the top of the tower when Richard's advice reached his ears.

"Kid, this tower's no ordinary. Take a closer look around."

Stopped by Richard, Bai closed his original eye and began observing the grand tower with his Prosthetic Eye. The tower appeared unremarkable at first, but as energy poured into the Prosthetic Eye, the tower became increasingly clear to Bai's vision. Soon, the reason for Richard's caution came into view.

"Lines?"

In Bai's sight, the tower was surrounded by dense energy threads. The purpose of these threads was unknown, but it seemed they were set for enemy defense.

"Go through the main entrance. You can't deal with these threads."

These threads posed no problem for a Wizard, but Bai was merely a native; despite Richard's guidance, it was difficult to untangle these threads. Richard was also disinclined to exert such effort in guiding a native.

Going through the main entrance might be faster.

Bai looked towards the ground floor of the tower, spotting a gap among the numerous threads. This gap corresponded to the main entrance. Before the entrance, two warriors clad in tight Armor, with the physique resembling giants, stood like stone gate guardians with large swords beside them.

"Though they seem imposing, these are just Second Level creatures. Even without prosthetic limbs, you can easily win."

Bai said nothing, recognizing these guards for what they were.

The Lu Family possessed a Secret Technique that could make warriors immensely powerful, impervious to blades or spears. It was claimed that they could only be harmed by renowned weapons or eradicated by Dao Techniques.

He once witnessed such warriors with the Quan family Young Master and experienced their might. It was said even top masters on the level of a Family Head would need great effort to kill such warriors.

"Evil Ghost, can you see? These warriors are called Iron Armor Guards; even Family Heads must expend great effort to kill them."

"You'll know once you act. The old man gave you a blade that's no ordinary item. You've killed enough over these days, and it's about time that blade awakens."

Bai glanced at the Shura at his waist. The name Shura wasn't on the list of renowned weapons, but over the past few days, he'd found it unquestionably comparable to the named weapons on the list.

"But I don't really want to kill them."

It was unclear what attitude the Lu Family held towards the Quan family Young Master. If they were allies, killing rashly would be foolish.

"Then use the Capture Net," Richard said indifferently.

To him, killing or not made no difference. It wouldn't affect what he'd instruct Bai to do next.

Touching his fingers slightly at Richard's words, Bai picked up two stones from the ground and strode towards the tower's main entrance.

The two Iron Armor Guards sensed danger, drawing their large swords immediately in alert.

In the next moment, a net of light appeared from the Void, enveloping both of them tightly.

"Enem—"

The Iron Armor Guards opened their mouths to warn, but before they could speak, two stones blocked their mouths.

From start to finish, they hadn't seen who the intruder was.

Ascending a ladder, Bai quickly reached the top floor. Before entering the room from which the flute sound emanated, Bai canceled the Advanced Invisibility Technique and tidied his clothes.

Pushing open the door, he saw by the window a young Werewolf with pure white fur playing a simple flute. Beside him sat a well-attired female Werewolf reading a book, a red-sheathed long blade at her waist.

The female Werewolf raised her head to look at Bai, surprise flickering in her eyes.

"Able to reach here, this mouse is quite formidable."

She stood up, radiating an aura only a Third Level creature could possess.

"Mouse, state your name."

Bai ignored her, bowing to the young Werewolf by the window, saying, "Shadow Guard Bai, pays respects to the Young Master."

Upon hearing the familiar voice, the Young Master swiftly turned around.

"Bai! You're alive!"

The nearby female Werewolf, hearing Bai's self-introduction, stood frozen.

Shadow Guard? Could someone from the Quan family still be alive?

Bai rose, his mismatched eyes fixed on the Young Master not far away. In his ear, Richard's excited yet sinister voice echoed repeatedly.

"World Master's Bloodline! Hahaha, kid, your Young Master awakened the Bloodline of the White Wolf King."
