Wizard: I Can Refine Everything

Chapter 73: Earthly Divine Country

The numerous Red-robed Cardinals took their seats. As the director of the Divine Arts Research Institute, Bishop Martin, accompanied by two priests, approached Richard.

All three held a box in their hands. With a sweep of his spiritual power, Richard saw that these boxes contained, respectively, a prayer amulet, a small divine statue, and a wooden staff used by priests.

"My Lord, we have completed your oracle."

Martin reverently held the box he was carrying to his front, speaking with utmost sincerity. Beside him, the two accompanying priests maintained the same posture.

With a wave of his hand, Richard opened all three boxes with an invisible force, allowing the items to slowly ascend into the air so that all the bishops present could clearly see them.

"Martin, there's no need for so much ceremony at this moment. Please introduce your achievements to everyone," Richard said with a smile.

"As you command, My Lord."

Martin performed a church salutation to Richard and then moved to stand beside the smallest item, the prayer amulet.

The prayer amulet was round, about the size of a baby's fist, entirely golden. On both sides, it bore the symbol of the Miracle Sect—a pentagram. In addition, a multitude of prayer scripts written in Wizard Language adorned the empty spaces of the amulet. Among these scripts, Richard vaguely noticed some elements resembling runes.

"My Lord, esteemed colleagues, this is a prayer amulet. Its function is to collect and protect the soul upon a believer's death; it is the lowest tier of the Divine Country system."

After speaking, Martin looked at Richard, and with a face full of remorse said: "My Lord, please forgive my incompetence. We are currently unable to allow souls to directly enter the Divine Country through the amulet."

Richard nodded slightly, his smile gently comforting: "There is no need to feel ashamed. I am aware of the difficulty involved, and thus did not require you all to achieve it in one step."

"I noticed there seems to be traces of Alchemy on this amulet, did you combine Alchemy with the prayer amulet?"

Martin nodded slightly, "You have a discerning eye. We did indeed take a shortcut by applying Alchemy to enhance the amulet's durability."

"Please continue."

"Yes, My Lord."

Martin moved from beside the prayer amulet to the wooden staff.

"The Divine Country system is divided into three parts, the first being the aforementioned prayer amulet. The amulet temporarily stores souls but does not perform soul transmission.

Therefore, we created this Guiding Staff. With this divine staff, a basic priest can accomplish the transfer of the prayer amulet's soul."

As he spoke, he picked up the divine staff and pointed it at the prayer amulet. A halo of Holy Light emerged from the amulet, merged into the staff, and then, with Martin's devout prayer, shot out from the staff to finally blend into the small divine statue.

"The third part is the divine statue that sends souls to the Divine Country. Through the Guiding Staff, we can draw the soul from the prayer amulet and infuse it into these God-blessed statues. Once inside the statues, the souls are preserved long-term.

Next, whether it is by your initiative, My Lord, or through our ascension ceremony, the souls in the statues can ascend to the Divine Country."

Finished with his explanation, Martin looked at Richard. Richard raised an eyebrow, and in the next moment, a sacred domain enveloped the hall. Within this domain, a figure composed of Holy Light gradually began to arise.

The Divine Country opened, and the soul naturally entered it via the divine statue. Influenced by the configurations within the Divine Country, the soul naturally answered the call to become a Heroic Spirit Soldier.

Before long, the conversion of the Heroic Spirit Soldier was complete.

Judging by his appearance, this was a Goblin blessed by Divine Grace. After the conversion was complete, he looked around in confusion until he caught sight of Richard not far away.

"My Lord!" The soldier saluted excitedly.

Observing the soul which retained intellect, Richard could not suppress the smile at the corner of his mouth. Once the Divine Country system was established, there would no longer be a need to worry about matters of faith.

Few would refuse the allure of ascending to the Divine Country after death.

Moreover, these souls can continue to fight for him, even in death. He could raise their residual souls through the Divine Country and rebirth them into new Heroic Spirit Soldiers via the Rebirth Pool.

If not for the consumption of the Power of Faith required when resurrection occurs outside the duel arena, Richard practically would have an Undead Army, a truly undying force.

"Good, good, good."

Richard retracted the Divine Country, affirming Martin with three words of praise.

"This achievement is commendable. Do not halt the research, continue it further and see if a breakthrough can be made." Then, he turned to Frank, "Frank, expedite the production of prayer amulets. We have no more than twenty years left before our warriors reach the new world. The Divine Country system must be implemented on every soldier before the war."

Frank bowed deeply, "Your will."

Richard turned his attention back to Martin.

"Your institute performed outstandingly this time. An award ceremony will be hosted shortly, and all priests who participated in the research will receive medals. For those who made significant contributions, submit a list to Frank, and their medals will be of a higher grade."

Upon hearing this, Martin humbly replied: "My Lord, we merely did what was expected of us."

Richard patted Martin's shoulder, "Do not dismiss your achievements; they deserve honor."

"Your will, My Lord."

Leaving the institute, Richard returned to the Secret Realm. Upon entering, he asked Ulysses, "What do you think of this system?"

Ulysses nodded, "Remarkable. While this system is in its infancy, its effects are already impressive. However, I personally suggest starting with deploying this system to front-line troops. Spend more time on the soul reception in the rear worlds, exploring if you can create an Earthly Divine Country."

"Earthly Divine Country?"

Richard was slightly bewildered by Ulysses' unfamiliar term.

"You can think of it as the kind of super-large magic array you used to create," Ulysses explained.

"Oh, then just say it's a super large Magic Array," Richard complained slightly.

"Ga, the super large Magic Array is an explanation for your convenience. In our place, this thing is called an Earthly Divine Country."

With that, Ulysses waved his wing, and a massive two-dimensional Array appeared in the air.

"This is a conceptual map, don't try to replicate it," Ulysses warned Richard, "The Earthly Divine Country is essentially a gigantic perpetual ritual powered by Earth Veins, offering a blessing to a certain area, country, or even continent.

This blessing varies depending on the ritual. If your Netherworld Rules are integrated into the Earthly Divine Country, it will guide the souls of every believer involved in the ritual."

"...Ah?"

Richard stared at Ulysses, somewhat dumbfounded.

"Why didn't you mention this amazing thing earlier?"

"Ga, because this stuff falls under the level of a becoming God ritual secret. If I leak it out, I'll be waiting for Divine Punishment."

"So why are you telling me now?"

"Because I suddenly realized that Divine Arts and your technology can actually coexist," Ulysses sighed a bit, "That Prayer Talisman simultaneously merges the Wizard's Alchemy and our Divine Magic System.

If Alchemy and Divine Arts can coexist, then perhaps the Wizard's Magic Array system and Divine Magic System can coexist too."

"You're saying..." Richard's eyes flashed with thought, "use a super large Magic Array to simulate your Earthly Divine Country."

Ulysses nodded: "Ga, that's right, what do you think?"

Richard stroked his chin, beginning to ponder the feasibility of this approach. Ultimately, he sighed deeply, his face showing a kind of eager excitement.

"...I think we can try it. If successful, it might also be a huge breakthrough."

...

"Manager, here is the religious change status in the city over these days."

In the office, Anderson took the report handed by the secretary with a distressed look, absent-mindedly flipping through two pages.

Due to the appearance of the Beast of Disaster, the fiscal situation of Base L-1 is very bad. Although the special funding from headquarters has been allocated, the enormous compensations still strain the base's finances.

"Sigh, how does this gap... hmm?"

Anderson's eyes suddenly widened, he rubbed his eyes, ensuring he hadn't misread the data on the materials.

"Kevin, have you seen this data?"

Kevin nodded, his tone carrying some horror: "I've seen it, and verified that it's real."

The document in Anderson's hand shows that in the past month, despite the appearance of the Beast of Disaster, the population in this city, over one million, has wiped out all denominations and association organizations, leaving only a sect named Miracle Sect.

"Is this... some kind of meme?" Anderson asked with some horror.

Kevin shook his head: "Manager, you should ask those two gentlemen about this. Miracle Sect is their denomination."

Anderson picked up the document, looked it over again, and then placed it back on the table.

"This is too astonishing, it must be reported."

He was about to use the fixed communication device for information reporting, but before he picked it up, the fixed Legendary Device rang first.

...

Miracle Sect's Four-Eyed People World First Church.

In a simply decorated room, Richard was reading a textbook on Source Energy Mechanical. Although compared to Alchemy, Source Energy Technology is quite superficial, each Race's Strength has significant potential.

If well developed, perhaps Source Energy Technology can also bring some unexpected benefits to Alchemy.

Suddenly, Ulysses flew out of the Void and landed on Richard's shoulder.

"This city has completely converted."

Richard closed the book, his expression somewhat surprised.

"The conversion happened so quickly? I thought it would take some time."

"Ga, quick? Looking down on whom?" Ulysses glared at Richard, "If not for considering the impact, in a world lacking mainstream denominations and rife with disasters, I could have had this city converted in seven days."

Richard chuckled: "Haha, don't get excited."

Suddenly, the door of the room was knocked.

Knock knock knock!

Richard opened the door to find Ankarena standing outside, her expression very serious.

"The Director hopes to have a meeting with you two."
