Who Is the World’s Strongest Appraiser? ~Living in Another World With Satisfying Meals~

Chapter 80.1

Liar, Sickly, Stubborn

“…Can I drag him off?”

Yuuri said with a smile. His face was smiling— a very nice, usual smile. And yet, behind him was an aura like the Great Demon God making a comeback. Normally so laid-back, when Yuuri got truly angry, everyone around him wanted to drop to their knees and beg for forgiveness. Now, the three of them were kneeling, pleading for mercy. Meanwhile, the one being scolded, still looking unfazed, tilted his head as if to say, “What?” Urgus, who had already nailed his own elegant bowing, forcefully pushed Magg’s head down. Small as he was, Magg couldn’t resist the mighty strength of Urgus and collapsed to the ground.

“Urgus, don’t be too rough… Magg, can I drag you off?”

“…Why?”

“Why, huh… I see… So, Magg, you really don’t get it…”

Yuuri muttered softly, but the Demon God behind him remained firmly in place. Urgus, Camille, and Yakk all trembled in fear. When the normally gentle parent figure suddenly loses it, anyone would be scared. And yet, Magg, the only one, was still tilting his head in confusion— as thick-skinned as ever. Or perhaps it should be called dull-witted. Squatting down in front of Magg, Yuuri placed his palm on Magg’s forehead. It was burning hot. His face was as expressionless as ever, and his neck was hidden by the usual scarf, so it wasn’t easy to tell, but Magg was clearly feverish. Yuuri smiled again, but this time, it was terrifying.

–Magg

Status: High fever

Today again, [God’s Eye] was in top form. He had grabbed hold of the apprentice crew, or more specifically, Magg, who was about to head out for independent training, and was now giving him a serious lecture. Even though Yuuri told him to rest, the person in question, Magg, had no idea, looking as if to say, “Why?” Yuuri couldn’t let someone “in the red” according to [God’s Eye] go off to training. Standing in the entranceway, blocking the way like a bouncer, Yuuri scolded, while the three who understood he was angry knelt voluntarily. Meanwhile, Magg, totally oblivious, just stood there. His lack of awareness was terrifying.

“For now, Magg is coming with me to the clinic.”

“…Why?”

“Come on, Magg, let’s stop being so clueless. You’ve got a fever!”

“”“You’ve got a fever!?”””

“…Fever?”

Magg was so unaffected that the three of them cried out in surprise, while Magg just looked confused. Seeing Yuuri nod, they started scolding him with, “If you’re sick, you should say something!” They certainly wouldn’t have dragged a sick person into training. But when they heard Magg’s reply to all of this:

“This much won’t kill me.”

It was classic Magg. His value system was too far off. Or rather, does he only have two settings— life or death? The three stared in shock, and Yuuri, his smile twitching with frustration, looked furious. Giving a thumbs-up, Magg struck a smug pose, completely unaware of their reactions. As expected from Magg, raised in the slums, with values utterly broken. He just couldn’t see eye to eye with people who had normal values. Usually, it wasn’t a problem, but at times like this, it went completely off the rails. Especially now, when he was sick, it was the last time anyone wanted to see that mindset on display.

“Urgus, can you help me out a bit?”

“Got it. Transport duty, right?”

“Yup.”

At Yuuri’s commanding smile, Urgus nodded seriously. He understood well. If Magg insisted he was fine, he would definitely refuse to go to the clinic. And though Yuuri was stronger than an ordinary person, he wasn’t an adventurer in training, so there was no way he could carry Magg. That’s why Urgus, who could carry Magg with ease, was chosen for the transport role. But there was another reason Yuuri called on Urgus. Having known Magg longer, he could understand Magg’s words better than the other three. Essentially, he was acting as a translator. Urgus, good luck.

“What?”

“Shut up. Just stay quiet. Yuuri’s judgment is never wrong.”

“…Put me down.”

“Not a chance.”

“Put me down.”

“I said no. And don’t pull out your knife.”

Urgus hoisted Magg onto his shoulder without a care, ignoring Magg’s muttered complaints. When Magg pulled out a knife, Urgus casually grabbed it with one hand, then passed it to Camille, who was watching in amazement. Camille quietly took the knife, then swiftly removed the sheath from Magg’s belt and began to put it away. Magg scowled, but under Urgus’s firm grip, he couldn’t move.

“Yuuri, we’re ready.”

“Okay. Just a moment, let me grab my bag.”

Yuuri went to retrieve his favorite school bag. It was a magic bag— a magic storage pouch— and since it was Yuuri’s personal one, no one else could access the contents. Yuuri had even stashed his wallet in there, ready to cover any treatment costs for Magg’s illness. He’d explain to Ally later. Yuuri returned with his bag, while Urgus continued dealing with a squirming Magg. Camille and Yakk, meanwhile, just watched. Actually, they were quietly preparing for departure, having left everything about Magg to Yuuri and Urgus. There really was no point in everyone going to the clinic together.

“Well, we’re off to the clinic for a bit.”

“Take care!”

“Magg, just give it up!”

“Camille, stop provoking him. Magg, stop squirming, it’s a hassle.”

“…Annoying.”

Yakk saw them off normally, while Camille teased Magg, causing him to struggle again. But the size difference between Urgus and Magg wasn’t something that could be overcome by mere wriggling. Magg was too small for a 15-year-old, looking frail enough to make you worry if he was eating properly. Even though he ate as much as the others, if not more.
