When "God" Decides To Start Over

Chapter 150 Infection_3

Demigod Shana's quality is high, so immunity is understandable. The Jedi Knight's quality isn't high, yet he's still immune. Their common feature is both were parasitized by evil.

It's very possible that evil can counteract the immunity against these viral magic spirits.

But the evil has already been swallowed by them, and Li Xiu doesn't have a third evil to offer Chu Jun. Even if there were, evil is something that the human body can't withstand.

This method won't work.

Li Xiu thought of the magic spirit parasitizing his own body, yet after he inhaled the viral magic spirit, he didn't gain immunity like the Jedi Knights did, indicating that the magic spirit within him isn't of the evil variety, likely useless to Chu Jun. Even if it were helpful, it cannot be unearthed.

"What should we do? What method is left?" Li Xiu watched Chu Jun's eyes glow, baring his teeth, as his body hunched like a beast on the ground, feeling indescribable emotions.

Suddenly, Li Xiu recalled the folk song sung by the conservative old man previously.

"A white dog barking... two black dogs barking..." Li Xiu thought of those two gate guardian beasts, aren't they the two black dogs?

If the two black dogs refer to those two guardian beasts, then what is the white dog?

Li Xiu had felt the song sung by the security old man was strange before, and recalling it now, it's even stranger.

Li Xiu had no other options now, so he was willing to try anything that had even the slightest possibility.

"White dog... what is a white dog..." Li Xiu's gaze surveyed the surroundings but found nothing that could be called a white dog.

He remembered the lyrics seemed to be searching for a white dog, and that the white dog was different from the black dog, possibly representing a positive aspect, with lines like "where is my white dog."

His memory wasn't wrong, but he didn't think much of it at the time. When they entered the Trial Gate, the old man's song hadn't finished, so Li Xiu hadn't heard where the white dog was.

Li Xiu quickly searched the entire monastery again but found only the previous guardian beasts; no other statues, or wall carvings were present, and certainly no white dog.

The blood moon in the sky had returned to normal, and the blood-colored light spots had darkened to the point of being almost invisible.

However, Chu Jun was behaving like a demonized vicious dog, crawling closer to Li Xiu on all fours, his eyes gleaming with blood light, blood-colored spots dripping from the corner of his mouth.

"The black dog is the guardian beast located in the main hall. We entered from the Left Courtyard. Could the white dog be in the Right Courtyard?" Li Xiu, without a second thought, rushed directly towards the Right Courtyard, with Chu Jun howling and chasing fiercely behind.

Li Xiu kicked open the door to the Right Courtyard, donned his gentleman's hat, wielded the Fire Lotus Sword, and with light energy radiating from his body, charged right in.

There's no time for slow exploration now. Since Chu Jun's gone this far, even if he found the white dog now, there's no certainty it could restore Chu Jun. Time can no longer be wasted.

Upon entering the Right Courtyard, he summoned Demigod Shana and the Jedi Knights to guard his front, while he closed the door, blocking the leaping Chu Jun.

Only then did Li Xiu take stock of the environment inside the Right Courtyard, discovering it arranged similarly to a courtyard with a large hall.

This courtyard was quite clean, with no corpses or red light spots, nor was there a white dog.

Li Xiu gritted his teeth, instructing the Jedi Knights to block the courtyard door, while he headed with Demigod Shana towards the Divine Hall doors to push them open.

However, upon pushing them, he found the Divine Hall doors were locked and wouldn't budge.

Li Xiu suddenly remembered the Golden Key and pulled it out, but the Golden Key was much larger than the lock. Without concern, he thrust it directly in.

Upon contact with the lock, the Golden Key automatically shrank to a fitting size, then inserted.

Li Xiu twisted forcefully, and with a crisp click, the lock opened, and Li Xiu pushed open the Divine Hall doors.

The Right Hall similarly housed a divine statue, almost identical to the one in the Left Hall, save for slight posture differences, though clearly modeled after the same magic spirit.

However, different in its front sat a shrine table, upon which rested a lamp unlike the Copper Lamp Li Xiu had seen before; it was a white jade lamp sculpted like the finest white jade, fashioned as a crouching white dog, atop which burned a white flame.

"Found it." Li Xiu was overjoyed but refrained from reaching for it, instead turning swiftly to the courtyard door to let the beastly, barking Chu Jun inside.

Chu Jun rushed in to attack Li Xiu, who led Chu Jun further into the Right Hall.

Li Xiu stopped before the shrine table, using his body to shield the White Dog Jade Lamp, and stood with his back to Chu Jun.

Without hesitation, Chu Jun lunged at him, nearly reaching his back when Li Xiu sidestepped, dodging the attack, causing Chu Jun to lunge toward the shrine table.

Li Xiu took advantage of the momentum, pressing down on Chu Jun's back, pinning him onto the shrine table, making him contact the White Dog Jade Lamp.

As soon as Chu Jun's body touched the White Dog Jade Lamp, the flame instantly surged and burned toward Chu Jun.

In a moment, Chu Jun's body appeared as if doused in gasoline and met fire, engulfed entirely by white flames, transforming into a fiery figure.

The White Lotus hovering beside Chu Jun spontaneously returned into his body.

Li Xiu watched Chu Jun, engulfed in blazing flames, silently hoping, "Old man, you better not be tricking us!"

After burning for a while, the white flames seeped into Chu Jun's body.

Li Xiu then saw Chu Jun's body remained unburned by the white flames, his consciousness appeared to recover significantly, the blood light in his eyes slowly fading.

Before long, Chu Jun's awareness seemed to return, curiously inspecting his own body, soon exclaiming in surprise, "What's happening? I'm not dead? And I also upgraded to level D, plus the White Lotus advanced a level, gaining an additional Talent Skill."

"I'm glad you're okay." Li Xiu breathed a sigh of relief, now having the peace of mind to check the items he'd previously picked up.
