What the hell is making games in the Ninja World?

Chapter 19: Chapter 14 : Better Plan!!

Of course, the so-called Mangekyō Sharingan is merely Uchiha Fugaku's helpless complaint. He is very aware that Uchiha Kai does not have a Mangekyō Sharingan; otherwise, activating a technique wouldn't require the complete lack of resistance from the opponent.

After all, if it were truly the legendary Mangekyō, the difference between resistance and non-resistance wouldn't matter much. Either way, resistance would be futile.

It can only be said that the activation conditions for Uchiha Kai's jutsu are indeed very strict, but once successful, the effects are quite extraordinary.

However, Uchiha Fugaku doesn't, like Minato Namikaze, think about the possibility of upgrading this technique further to rival Wood Release. After all, although Uchiha Kai is talented, his natural talent as a ninja is quite low.

As the future leader of the Uchiha clan, Uchiha Fugaku is a staunch believer in the supremacy of bloodlines, and naturally, he doesn't share Minato Namikaze's belief that with the right opportunities and conditions, one could break through the limitations of the body and bloodline.

However, this technique does allow Uchiha Fugaku to see a glimmer of hope. He sees the possibility of dramatically increasing the Uchiha clan's Sharingan-opening rate and accelerating the evolution of the Sharingan.

The authenticity of this level, and the durability that even the powerful three-tomoe Sharingan cannot break through, is simply the ultimate forbidden technique created for the Uchiha.

Not to mention the unimaginable terror it induces—anyone with even a slightly better bloodline might instantly awaken their eyes under such intense stimulation.

Uchiha Fugaku believes that if he hadn't awakened the Sharingan yet, the recent experience would have been enough to trigger it.

And now, as the terrifying blood-clad figures charge from the crimson field, the scene of being surrounded by countless enemies, struggling with all his might, only to ultimately be overwhelmed and killed, Uchiha Fugaku becomes even more certain.

The experience of death is incredibly real. The pain of having his body torn apart by the enemy's weapons is equally shocking. It truly makes Uchiha Fugaku feel as if he cannot distinguish between illusion and reality.

If the Sharingan weren't completely useless after being activated, Uchiha Fugaku might have truly believed it.

Note that by "useless," this doesn't only refer to the inability to break the illusion game with the Sharingan. It also means that the Sharingan, in this world, is nothing more than an ordinary eye.

Let's not forget that Uchiha Fugaku here is playing a game character—and a character who is limited by death.

Although the game doesn't restrict Uchiha Fugaku from using a colored contact lens skin, such a lens cannot break through the underlying code to achieve an enhanced effect.

With the Sharingan activated, Uchiha Fugaku in the game was essentially playing with an eye skin, much like wearing colored contact lenses. The strength of his in-game character remained the same as it should be.

In fact, due to the lack of the Sharingan's power, Uchiha Fugaku's potential in the game was even lower.

Originally, Uchiha Fugaku's combat skills were already inferior to Minato Namikaze's. Under equal conditions, having grown accustomed to the enhancement from the Sharingan, Uchiha Fugaku was now without that boost, making him a total weakling in this Horror game. His playstyle could only be described as a constant cycle of failure.

Uchiha Kai watched as Fugaku kept dying, repeatedly challenging the game only to die again, each time showing off his diverse ways of dying.

Stabbed to death, stomped to death, crashed to death, hacked to death, stabbed, dismembered, split in half, turned into 2.5 Fugakus—he experienced all kinds of deaths, truly showcasing the art of suffering.

At first, Uchiha Fugaku was terrified of death, but gradually, he became numb. Later, in his frustration and anger, he became more and more passionate, pushing himself forward with the determination of "no matter what, I must defeat these bloodthirsty enemies today." He pressed on, relentlessly killing each bloodthirsty opponent with all his strength.

His desperate and determined attitude made Uchiha Kai pause in silence, before he scratched his head and muttered, "Should I tell him that he doesn't actually need to beat every single bloodthirsty opponent? He just needs to break through their encirclement and reach the end."

"Given how worked up he is right now, telling him the truth might just make him embarrassed and furious," Kai mused.

"Forget it. I won't tell him. After all, what I want isn't these emotionally valuable players clearing the game. I just need them to provide enough emotional value."

While pondering these thoughts, Uchiha Kai's gaze shifted to the system panel, and the numbers on it made him nod in satisfaction.

Uchiha Fugaku had already provided 1024 points of emotional value. Although it had plateaued and wasn't as much as what Minato Namikaze had provided, it was still a significant amount. It had moved Uchiha Kai's progress forward by a large step.

Moreover, the emotional value Fugaku could provide had reached its limit.

The game hadn't even progressed far, yet the emotional value was already maxed out, demonstrating just how intense Fugaku's emotional fluctuations were.

Uchiha Kai felt a bit regretful.

He regretted making the game "too big." Although, in his view, a game that takes less than two hours to complete was still just a small game, the feedback from players indicated that a mini-game with a flow of only about half an hour would have been sufficient.

Even though it wasn't possible to maximize the emotional value, earning a decent profit was enough. The chakra and Sharingan power saved could allow him to open the game several more times each day, achieving a "small profits with high volume" effect, instead of being limited to only two or three games per day, like now.

"I overestimated the psychological resilience of the elite ninjas from this world. Or maybe, the ordinary, Earth-based tricks I used are just too advanced for this world, causing even these ninjas to completely lose control and explode with coins."

Muttering to himself, Uchiha Kai began considering another possibility—splitting the current game into a half-hour "demo version."

It's quite normal for single-player games to have demo versions. Typically, single-player games have at least five or six hours of gameplay, and then a 20- to 30-minute demo version is released. In his case, he was splitting a two-hour game into a half-hour demo version.

Since the goal was simply to complete the beginner's task and collect 5000 emotional value points, as long as doing so would accomplish the task, there was no harm in making such a change.

With this in mind, Uchiha Kai couldn't help but ask the system if it was possible to create a demo version to collect emotional value.

Though the system was still somewhat of an "artificial intelligence failure," it still provided an answer, and the answer was: yes.

As long as it was the first game, regardless of how much content was supplied, as long as the player met the minimum requirement of a ten-minute experience, the emotional value collection would still be effective.

The only difference was that if the game time was too short, the collected emotional value wouldn't reach its peak.

Without a doubt, the system's answer greatly satisfied Uchiha Kai, though he couldn't help but feel a little regretful for not asking earlier. If he had, maybe he could have completed the beginner's task today.

I have to say, the freedom given by this system for tasks is really high, and the operability is fully provided.

With just a trial version, the game can really squeeze out all the emotional points from players.

Looking at the performance of Minato Namikaze and Fugaku Uchiha, it's highly likely that within half an hour, most other players will have provided all their emotional points.

Based on the concept of completing tasks, it seems that just a trial version would be enough.

However, in reality, this is due to the unique nature of the ninja world. In a world where entertainment culture is completely barren, encountering a genjutsu game created by Uchiha Kai is like a dimensional strike.

If this were on Earth, not to mention that Earth's technology can't yet establish the foundation of a mental network, even the most realistic game would only excite and make modern people who have experienced various entertainment bombardments slightly interested.

The emotional value it would provide would definitely not compare to what people in the ninja world can offer.

A mere trial version, no matter how well it's made, would only excite and raise expectations for those people. The emotional value it could provide would definitely not match the ninja world's people.

Moreover, Uchiha Kai believes that as he creates more games in the future, players in the ninja world will develop high resistance to various game patterns.

By that time, for the understanding of this small game, it would probably only make their hearts race a little faster, and might not even achieve that much.

This is only natural because humanity's threshold for happiness is always rising.
