Chapter 57: Chapter 13 (Full)
The League instinctively closed ranks in front of Raven, just in case Trigon tried another stunt. Once the interdimensional tyrant vanished, the atmosphere eased, though only slightly.
Raven stirred, her groan drawing everyone's attention. Slowly, she opened her eyes, meeting the relieved gazes of her friends.
"Feeling better?" Beast Boy asked, his voice tinged with worry.
Raven let out a soft chuckle and gave him a shaky thumbs-up.
John Constantine, keeping his distance, approached with Etrigan's blade in one hand and a cloth in the other. His attention was on the weapon, casually wiping away a few stubborn traces of Trigon's blood.
The group bristled at his nonchalance, but John didn't seem to care. He stepped closer to Raven, his tone blunt.
"Your old man was too distracted by the Destroyer, so I took the liberty of nabbing a little souvenir." He held up the blade, now clean. "This might help sever his hold on you."
Raven blinked at him, still processing his words. John didn't wait for a response. He reached into his coat and pulled out a small, well-worn pouch, beginning to chant under his breath. The cloth in his hand started to glow faintly, suffused with magic.
"Right, give me your hand," he said, his eyes locked on hers.
Raven hesitated. "What for?"
"Trust me, luv. It's for your own good," John said, his tone impatient.
Reluctantly, she extended her hand. John grabbed it, unceremoniously pricking her finger with a needle. A single crimson drop welled up.
"Ta, sweetheart." He flicked the drop into the center of a glowing sigil, a makeshift magic circle formed with Trigon's blood. The effect was immediate.
Raven gasped as the invisible weight of her father's influence lifted. The ever-present dread she had grown accustomed to—a constant shadow in her soul—began to dissipate.
"It's not a full fix," John said as he packed away his tools. "But it'll dull his claws in your mind. For now."
Raven exhaled deeply, the relief written across her face. But then Constantine's expression darkened. "Before he bailed to chase the Destroyer, your dad left us a parting gift—"
A sudden shift in the air cut him off. A green mist coiled around Raven, her body shuddering as her strength visibly faltered.
"Magic," Circe muttered, stepping forward. "And not the good kind."
Before anyone could act, Circe materialized near the group, her presence commanding immediate attention.
"What do you want?" Nightwing asked, his voice cold and sharp.
Supergirl stepped forward, her gaze narrowing. "Circe. Why are you here?"
Circe smirked, folding her arms. "Amusing. You think I'm the problem here? If you want that girl fixed, you'll let me help."
"We don't need your help," Nightwing shot back.
Circe rolled her eyes. "Spare me the righteous routine. Either I help her, or this gets worse."
But the point became moot as Raven suddenly clutched her chest, a scream tearing from her throat. The group froze, alarmed, as green energy surged around her body.
Circe shoved her way through the cluster, barely sparing them a glance. "Idiots. You gave Enchantress too much time to finish her spell."
Raven's cries faded as her body went eerily still. When she lifted her head, her features had changed—her black magic now mingled with a sickly green hue, her voice layered with Enchantress's haunting cadence.
"This body…" Raven's lips twisted into a wicked smile. "So much potential. So much power!"
The ground trembled as she released a pulse of corrupted magic, throwing everyone back.
"What have you done to her?!" Beast Boy shouted, his voice breaking with desperation.
Enchantress laughed, wagging Raven's finger at him mockingly. Her voice layered with the previous owner. "Don't be so dramatic, Gar. I've only borrowed her—permanently."
John groaned, picking himself up. "Bloody hell… Enchantress, isn't it? What's her game?"
Circe, standing apart from the chaos, answered grimly. "She's consumed divine magic. Killed a god of creation. Now she's hiding her true form while using Raven as a puppet."
"Bravo, Circe," Enchantress purred. "At least someone's paying attention." She snapped her fingers, and in a blink, Raven's possessed form vanished.
"Raven!" the Titans shouted, scrambling to their feet.
Circe sighed heavily, already turning to leave.
"Where is she?" Conner demanded, his fists clenched, Circe's lip twitched in mild annoyance.
Circe pointed to the planet spinning beneath the Watchtower. "Earth."
Batman's voice cut through the tension as he studied his monitor. "Specifically… Moscow."
A sudden explosion was set off as a building was blown to pieces, Enchantress raised her hand and aimed a blast at the edge of the city, "This should be fun," the blast was a mixture of divine Ki and Kai magic.
A greater explosion shook the entire city, as if a nuclear bomb had been dropped, half the city of Moscow had been reduced to ashes.
"Not bad…but I think I added too much magic," she gave a glance at her hand and shrugged. "No matter, I can keep trying, besides this child possess an incredible amount of power, I just need to draw it out," Enchantress's eyes started glowing.
Suddenly she was tackled by a blue and red blur. "Y-you killed millions…for what!?" Superman held her down.
Enchantress grunted in pain as she was held down before she smirked. "I was testing my new strength," she responded before sending a pulse of power at the man of steel, Clark hadn't expected to feel an invisible force to rip him off the Sorceress.
Enchantress cracked her neck to relieve the mounting pain that had begun to build up, an incredible pulse of magical energy radiated from the Sorceress who now had a dense aura, soon the rest of the League arrived, Superman returned.
"We need to stop her," the man of steel prepared himself for another confrontation, the ground had been lightly trembling.
Enchantress floated above the decimated ruins of Moscow, her corrupted aura radiating raw power. "You're wasting your time," she sneered. "Even if you could stop me, this body's potential is limitless. I'll unravel your world thread by thread."
Superman's eyes narrowed. "Then we'll unravel you first."
"League, Titans—move!" Batman barked through his communicator, already formulating a plan. Wonder Woman charged with her lasso glowing, aiming to ensnare Raven-Enchantress.
Enchantress watched her approach with a bemused smirk. "Adorable." She raised a hand, conjuring an invisible barrier of Kai magic. Wonder Woman's lasso collided with it, sending crackling sparks flying, but the Amazon pressed forward.
"You can't hold me back!" Diana roared, summoning her divine strength to shatter the barrier. The moment it fractured, Enchantress retaliated, unleashing a wave of dark tendrils laced with divine Ki. They spiraled toward Wonder Woman, who expertly deflected most with her bracelets, but one wrapped around her ankle and yanked her into the air.
Before Diana could react, Flash fired a lightning strike, severing the tendril. "Stay sharp, Diana," Barry quipped, speeding over to her.
"Focus!" Batman's voice was stern. He turned to John Constantine, who was flipping through an ancient tome. "How long until you can isolate Enchantress' connection to Raven?"
John muttered a curse. "This isn't your everyday possession, mate. She's using bloody celestial magic to anchor herself. I need time and—"
"You don't have time." Batman's voice was cold but resolute. "Do it now, or millions more will die."
"Perhaps I could be of some service," a gentle voice asked, immediately they noticed the Supreme Kai Makaiya.
Meanwhile, the Titans regrouped. Starfire's fists burned with starbolts as she floated beside Cyborg, who was analyzing Enchantress' aura with his scanners. "Her energy readings are off the charts," he said.
Roy nodded grimly. "She's stolen Raven's body, maybe If we can disrupt her connection to that Enchantress—"
"We hit her hard enough to knock her loose!" Beast Boy interrupted, shifting into a massive rhino and charging at Enchantress.
"No, Gar, wait!" Nightwing shouted, but it was too late.
Enchantress flicked her wrist, and Beast Boy was flung backward by an invisible force, skidding across the rubble. She laughed mockingly. "Oh, come now. At least pretend to be a challenge."
"Enough games!" Superman charged again, this time weaving to avoid her magical blasts. He landed a thunderous punch, sending Enchantress crashing through a collapsed skyscraper. The earth quaked, and for a moment, silence fell.
"Is it over?" Starfire asked cautiously.
Enchantress emerged from the rubble, her eyes glowing brighter than before. Her laughter echoed unnervingly as her aura flared, consuming the sky with dark tendrils of power. "You fools still don't understand, do you? This isn't just about power—it's about dominion. And Raven's body is the perfect vessel to achieve it!"
John finally looked up, his expression grim but determined. "Right, we've got a plan, but you're not gonna like it."
Makaiya and Batman opting to remain silent.
"Spit it out," Roy demanded.
"We need to pull her into Raven's soul—force her into a dimension she can't control. But it's risky as hell. If we fail, we lose Raven in anyway, Enchantress gets a new permanent playground."
Nightwing stepped forward. "If there's even a chance to save Raven, we take it. Titans, ready up."
Circe, who had been watching from a distance, finally spoke. "You mortals lack the strength to contain her. You'll need my magic."
"And why would we trust you?" Conner asked, still wary.
Circe's face had a look of anger building but she calmed herself. "Because I don't want her rewriting the rules of existence any more than you do."
Diana stepped between them with a stern expression on her face. "I understand your prejudice for Circe, however, do not let that cloud your ability to think rationally, we need her, she is trustworthy on my honor." Diana silenced the group instantly, perhaps her words hit true or the fact that her mere presence exuded a weight that was never there before.
Circe if stunned by Diana's declaration didn't show it. "Even Diana gets it," she retorted.
"Alright," Batman accepted, he could tell a few members were still unsure. "Work with Constantine. Superman, keep her distracted. Titans, cover them."
Superman gave a resolute nod and rocketed towards Enchantress. The rest of the League and Titans launched their coordinated assault. Starfire's starbolts and Cyborg's plasma cannon forced Enchantress to split her focus, while Wonder Woman and Flash darted in with precision strikes, being careful to not damage her body.
All the while, Constantine and Circe chanted in unison, their voices weaving a spell that shimmered in the air like a golden thread. The magic began to wrap around Enchantress, binding her movements.
"You think this will hold me?" Enchantress roared, her voice distorted with power. "I'll tear this dimension apart before you—"
"Not today!" Superman interrupted, landing a devastating blow that sent her sprawling into the center of the battlefield. The spellwork tightened around her like a web, forcing her down.
"Now!" Constantine shouted. The combined magic of the ritual opened a vortex beneath Enchantress, glowing with Raven's signature violet hue.
Enchantress screamed as she was dragged into the soul-self, her power raging against the pull. "You can't imprison me forever! This body belongs to me!"
Inside the vortex, Raven's faint voice echoed. "No. It's my body." A surge of purple light erupted, and the vortex collapsed, taking both Raven and Enchantress with it.
The battlefield fell silent.
"Raven…" Beast Boy whispered, his voice trembling.
"She's alive," Constantine assured, though his tone was somber. "But she'll have to fight her way out."
"And if she doesn't?" Cyborg asked quietly.
Batman's voice was grim. "Then we'll make sure Enchantress is contained immediately."
Raven and Enchantress's egos clashed as they pushed against each other, although weakened, Raven's black magic clawed back what was lost now that it was given an inch.
Raven's six eyes grew in size and power as a crimson dragon of pure divine Ki roared, empowering her, Enchantress growled.
"So that's where your second wind came from," Enchantress started chanting, allowing her magic to pulse before slowing Raven's push to a halt.
"You may have his support but you're barely able to stay conscious, if you lose now…" Enchantress grinned. "I don't need to beat you here…I just need to…" Enchantress slit her wrist allowing her blood to flow freely.
"Let's see you tak-" Enchantress didn't get to finish as her blood turned to ashes, the crimson dragon had turned the physical manifestation of her mindscape into a burning furnace and turned her blood to ash, cancelling her blood magic before vanishing as if its final spark had been burnt out.
"Curses…that novice fooled me," she scowled before backing off as Raven's magic kept swelling until Enchantress was barely able to hold on, Raven immediately turned it on Enchantress and peered deeper in reality.
"I…can see you…" Raven muttered as her eyes glowed tracing Enchantress back to whatever dimension she was hiding in.
"Shit," Enchantress cursed. 'I need to get out of her soul I need just a little bit longer,'
Raven grabbed ahold of Enchantress through her connection, seizing the witch by the throat via magic tendrils.
Enchantress groaned as Merno glanced in her direction before returning to his task. 'I can feel the Grand Zeno's presence diminishing at astonishing rate, soon he will be gone, and I shall be free to sow chaos and have true freedom, no more Angel law, but her…she has served her purpose.'
Blood trickled from Enchantress's nose, her once-formidable aura faltering. Merno observed the scene with a faint smirk, his staff tapping lightly against the ground. "Well," he mused, "I suppose she won't last much longer. Such recklessness is… predictable. I did promise her something, though." He gestured lazily, a book materializing beside the sorceress. "Use it if you survive."
And with that, he vanished, leaving Enchantress alone with the ominous tome.
Elsewhere, Raven's focus returned from the astral plane. She took a deep breath, glancing at the assembled team who stood ready for battle. For a brief moment, a smile crossed her lips. Then, with a graceful wave of her hand, an astral projection of Enchantress appeared before them.
"I won," Raven declared, though her voice carried a weariness. Her gaze flicked toward the ethereal form of her foe. "Thanks to…"
Before she could finish, a small figure barreled into her with startling force, sending her sprawling.
"Raven!" the others cried, their concern spilling into the air as the dust settled.
Standing in the chaos was a young boy, his jet-black hair slightly tousled, his piercing blue eyes scanning the area. He wore an Argus uniform, the insignia gleaming in the dim light.
"Target neutralized," the boy announced, his voice calm and eerily self-assured.
The team froze, processing his words. Then, without warning, Raven's fist connected with the boy's cheek, snapping his head to the side. He turned back to face her, his expression unflinching, only to see her six glowing green eyes narrow sharply.
"Thanks for knocking out the previous owner," Enchantress purred through Raven's voice. "Permanently."
Beast Boy's face flushed red. "You! What have you—"
"Save it," Circe cut in, her tone dry. "The plan was working—right up until it wasn't. That knockout gave Enchantress just enough time to finish her possession."
'This could have been avoided…' Circe thought to herself.
Beast Boy's jaw dropped. "But you said—"
"Enough!" Nightwing snapped, his voice commanding. Despite the sharp pain in his chest, he stood firm. "Raven is… gone."
A heavy silence fell as John Constantine nodded grimly, the weight of the situation evident.
"We said the risk was high," John added, his voice tinged with regret. "This was never going to be easy."
Batman, however, stepped forward, his sharp eyes locking onto the boy. "Who are you?" he demanded.
Before the boy could answer, a second voice chimed in. "We are Sentinel No.1 and Sentinel No.2," it announced. Heads turned to see a young girl standing confidently, her Argus uniform matching the boy's.
Enchantress wasted no time. With a flick of her hand, she unleashed a blast of magic aimed squarely at the boy's head. He tilted his head effortlessly, the attack soaring past and exploding into a mushroom cloud above.
"Tsk," Enchantress hissed, her frustration mounting. She unleashed a wave of magic in all directions. The boy slid back slightly but stood firm, his eyes glowing a menacing red. Twin beams of heat vision erupted, cutting through the magical assault and narrowly missing her.
Enchantress's scowl deepened, but her counterattack was cut short as the girl appeared behind her, landing a devastating strike that left a gaping hole in Enchantress's chest. The sorceress staggered, coughing up blood.
"Raven!" The Titans called out, tears were now welling up in Starfires eyes.
"That energy…" Power Girl muttered, her eyes widening in recognition. "It's the same ki I sensed as Karaen."
Batman's sharp mind pieced the puzzle together. So, Project Apex Sentinel, he concluded silently. If the data was accurate, these two were hybrids—part Clark, part Gohan, and part Doomsday.
His gaze flicked between the two children as Superman and Diana moved cautiously forward. The Argus branding on their uniforms spoke volumes.
"I must admit," the boy said, his tone oddly chipper, "I was excited to meet one of my fathers."
The girl nodded. "But Father Superman doesn't seem nearly as strong as I expected."
The words hung heavy in the air, but before anyone could respond, a tremor shook the ground violently. Both children turned their gazes skyward.
"Father Gohan seems… promising," they murmured in unison.
"Hold on, you two!" Supergirl interjected, stepping forward. Her fusion as Karaen had left her with a rudimentary sense of ki, enough to make her uneasy. The energy she felt now churned her stomach.
The children turned to her, their serious expressions softening into faint smiles. "Aunty Supergirl," they greeted warmly, catching her off guard.
Gohan's aura roared to life, crackling with godly energy as he charged a planet-shattering blast. Without hesitation, he hurled it straight at Trigon, who rushed forward with an almost casual arrogance. The Demon Lord swatted the attack aside with a dismissive backhand, sending it careening into the upper atmosphere.
The resulting explosion lit up the night sky, temporarily turning Earth's darkness into blinding daylight. The shockwave rippled across the globe, causing hurricane-force winds that uprooted trees and shattered windows.
Gohan frowned. Of course, he'd be that strong… With a sharp inhale, he pushed his energy to the next level. His Super Saiyan God aura burned brightly for a moment, then shifted into the deep crimson and black hues of Super Saiyan Rosé.
In a flash, Gohan was in front of Trigon. The Demon God barely had time to react before Gohan's fist connected with his face, the sheer force of the punch launching him into the stratosphere. Trigon's massive form hurtled upward, but every time he tried to regain control, Gohan was already there, delivering another strike to send him farther and farther away from Earth.
Finally, Gohan paused, hovering in space as he closed his eyes. His sharp senses scanned the universe for ki signatures. Two strange energies stood out to him—foreign, but powerful. And then there was Raven. Wait, Raven? What's going on back on Earth?
His focus wavered. 'He's here...'
"Getting distracted, are we?" Trigon's deep, menacing voice echoed through the void. Gohan's eyes snapped open, but it was too late—Trigon had teleported behind him. With a cruel grin, the Demon Lord drove a massive fist into Gohan's back, sending him flying before grabbing him midair and spinning him like a ragdoll.
"You're strong, destroyer," Trigon sneered, hurling him across the cosmos. "But you're far from invincible."
Gohan rocketed through space, smashing through moons and uninhabited planets, each impact shaking his bones. Despite the pain, he gritted his teeth, using his ki to steer himself away from any populated worlds. I can't let him cause more destruction…
After barreling through the debris of a shattered asteroid, Gohan flipped midair, catching himself on the surface of a barren moon. He barely had time to catch his breath before Trigon's follow-up attack arrived—a devastating beam of magical energy.
The blast was immense, its heat palpable even in the vacuum of space. Gohan crossed his arms to block it, his aura flaring as he struggled to hold the energy back. But then he felt it—a planet teeming with life, directly in his trajectory.
"No…!" Gohan growled, his body trembling as he fought to redirect the beam. Sweat dripped from his brow as he pushed harder, determined to protect the distant world.
But Trigon wasn't done. "Struggling already? Allow me to help." With a flick of his hand, the Demon Lord multiplied the power of the beam fourfold.
The sheer force was overwhelming. Gohan's arms buckled under the pressure. Still, he refused to give up. His aura exploded outward, as he roared in defiance.
Meanwhile, on Thanagar, the warrior planet known for its advanced technology and fierce inhabitants, the skies grew unnaturally bright. Its winged citizens paused mid-flight, staring in awe and confusion as the distant battle between Gohan and Trigon illuminated their heavens.
The ground beneath their feet trembled. The power these two beings wielded was unlike anything they had ever seen.
Gohan grit his teeth, a single thought burning in his mind: I won't let you win, Trigon. Not here. Not ever.
The heavens burned with the clash of powers, a cosmic tug-of-war that held Thanagar in the balance. Trigon's raw magical energy tore through the void, cascading down like a wrathful god's judgment. To the Thanagarians, it looked as if Gohan alone bore the weight of the sky itself, his glowing aura the only barrier between their planet and total annihilation.
Trigon's deep, mocking laughter echoed across the stars. "You fight so hard for their lives, destroyer. How noble—and how pointless." With a casual gesture, he raised his other hand, doubling the power of his attack. The beam flared brighter, its crushing force pressing Gohan closer to Thanagar's surface.
Sweat poured down Gohan's face as his arms trembled, every fiber of his being straining against the relentless assault. His crimson Rosé aura flickered under the pressure. Glancing downward, he saw Thanagar's cities sprawled beneath him, their people gazing up at the spectacle.
Their faces—some fearful, some awestruck—spurred him on.
Trigon sneered, his voice dripping with malice. "So, what will you do, little god? Protect them? Or let them burn?"
With a thunderous roar, Gohan's energy surged, his aura expanding outward like a fiery explosion. The ground beneath him quaked as he poured everything he had into redirecting the beam. Slowly, he began to shift the massive column of energy upward, away from Thanagar's atmosphere.
I just need a few more seconds…
The strain was unbearable, his muscles screaming in protest as Trigon's overwhelming power resisted his every move. But Gohan refused to falter. His eyes burned with determination as he dug deep into reserves of power.
The beam tilted upward, inch by inch, until finally—
"NOW!" Gohan roared, unleashing a burst of ki that sent the attack careening into the void. The redirected energy erupted far above Thanagar, the explosion lighting up the entire system in a blinding flash of light.
Below, the Thanagarians shielded their eyes, their hearts pounding with the realization of how close they had come to annihilation.
Hovering in the aftermath, Gohan wiped his brow, despite his previous predicament he was not out of breath. He turned to face Trigon, his aura swelling before he transformed into his Super Saiyan 4 Limit Breaker form.
"You wanted a challenge?" Gohan growled, his voice carrying across the stars. "Then I'll show you the power of a Destroyer God!"
Trigon's grin widened, the glint of a predator sensing prey. "Good. Show me. Entertain me, Saiyan."
Trigon let out an ear deafening roar as the universe shook tremendously, his power soared, Gohan looked around unimpressed by his display.
'That is a lot of power…but he wasted so much of it just powering up…' Gohan mused, but he could feel Trigons power immense but it was not very refined, it was power on pure power.
'I'll need more power to suppress him safely,' Gohan mused silently.
Gohan powered down before his eyes flashed red, his aura became a white flame with red and black lightning and his hair stood on end, Gohan smirked and prepared himself, his Beast form shimmered in the sky like a beacon of light.
Trigon's confident smirk leveled out before sneered. "I will rip you in half!" He roared and charged forward but Gohan appeared before he could cover any meaningful distance.
A fist struck Trigon in the face stunning him as another and another rained down on him, he could only see flashes of light before being rocked back into the void of space.
The demon gods' frustration grew until he let out an explosive wave of power, stopping the assault, turning to face Gohan who had a stern expression on his face.
Back with the League, Enchantress struggled for breath, clutching at the gaping wound in her side. Her regeneration was kicking in, but the pain was still sharp. The young boy standing over her tilted his head, his expression unreadable.
"Impressive," he said coldly. "You're still alive."
His eyes began glowing red, heat vision charging—but before he could fire, a blur of blue and red appeared between them. The iconic figure of Superman now stood in his path, his own eyes glowing with a more controlled but no less intimidating crimson.
"You will stand down," Superman commanded, that was still Raven's body.
The boy's glowing eyes flickered before dimming, but he didn't back away. Instead, his sister stepped forward, her tone sharp and defiant.
"We do not take orders from you, Father Superman."
Clark's stern expression softened slightly at her words. Father?
Before he could respond, the girl vanished in a blur of motion and reappeared behind him, landing a punch that sent shockwaves across the battlefield. Superman turned slowly, unfazed, meeting her wide-eyed surprise with calm resolve.
She recovered quickly, a flicker of joy crossing her face. "Your ki… it's not very high," she mused, "but why can't I overpower you?"
Clark stayed silent, letting her test her strength. She threw another punch, but this time he caught it mid-strike. The ground cracked beneath them, but Superman held firm. Her expression shifted from confusion to frustration as her aura flared, her eyes flashed teal, and Clark felt her power spike significantly. Still, she couldn't budge him.
The girl touched her earpiece, her voice carrying a mix of irritation and determination. "Mother, permission to lift the first suppression?"
Her brother's eyes widened slightly as he stepped closer, concern flickering across his face.
Superman raised a hand, his voice calm but insistent. "We don't have to fight. We can talk this out."
A voice responded through her earpiece, audible even to Clark's enhanced hearing. "Permission granted. But retreat if it isn't enough. And Sentinel No.1, remember to address me as Director over official channels."
The girl frowned. "Yes… Director."
"Hold on!" Cyborg called out, stepping forward. "We're not your enemies—"
Before he could finish, a sharp burst of movement caught everyone's attention. Enchantress, who had been gathering her strength for another spell, froze as her arm fell limp, a hiss of pain escaping her lips. All eyes turned to a young man with purple hair and a sword strapped to his back. His expression was calm but unmistakably stern.
"Who are—" she began, but he cut her off with a sharp glare.
"Enough from you," the stranger said simply.
With a flash of crimson energy, the man transformed, his godly aura illuminating the battlefield. He placed a glowing hand on Raven, whose body was still under Enchantress's control. The League and Titans tensed, but before anyone could react, Enchantress's influence unraveled like thread snapping under strain.
Raven fell unconscious as the last vestiges of green and black magic dissipated. Enchantress's visage, now disconnected, recoiled in shock.
"That… that energy…" she stammered. "A Destroyer God?! That can't be Son Gohan—he's still busy with Trigon!"
The purple-haired warrior didn't give her time to recover. A crimson flame surged in his hand, taking the shape of a dragon. Enchantress let out a panicked cry, severing her connection and retreating before the energy could reach her.
"Curse you, Destroyer God!" her voice echoed as her projection dissolved.
The young man extinguished his energy, turning to the unconscious Raven. Placing a hand on her shoulder, he unleashed a wave of healing energy that washed over her and the surrounding area, leaving the Titans speechless.
Nightwing broke the silence. "Who is this guy?"
Zatanna appeared from the shadows, a sly smile on her face. "He's with me," she said. "Long story. I'll fill you in later."
"Zatanna?!" Nightwing exclaimed. "Since when—"
"Focus," she interrupted, motioning toward the young man. He remained stoic, his gaze shifting toward the twins as the girl's aura exploded outward. Her golden hair rose, a red hue flickering around her. She shot into the sky, aiming directly for Superman.
Clark barely managed to block her next strike, which sent him soaring into the upper atmosphere. The girl smirked, chasing after him with the kind of reckless enthusiasm Clark only saw in true brawlers.
"She's… much stronger now," the purple-haired warrior muttered. Batman, standing nearby, offered an explanation.
"They're clones," he said flatly. "That's what you're sensing."
The young man frowned, his gaze returning to the boy still standing on the ground. Unlike his sister, he seemed hesitant, even nervous. When their eyes met, the boy gave him a small, almost shy wave before turning his attention back to the sky.
"You're right," the man said to Batman. "Their energy feels… artificial." Not even Gero could create artificial Ki signatures. other than Cell.
He stepped closer to the boy, dropping his aura completely. "What's your name?" he asked.
The boy hesitated, as if unsure how to answer. Instead, he asked a question of his own. "Are you a Destroyer God like Father Gohan?"
The young man raised an eyebrow at the title but chose to humor him. "No, just an old friend of his. I'm Trunks. And you?"
Before the boy could respond, he tapped his earpiece, nodding as the voice on the other end spoke again.
"Yes, Director," he said obediently. Then, to Trunks, "I must go now."
In a flash, he vanished, leaving Trunks to stare after him, deep in thought.
