What if Gohan landed in DC 2

Chapter 55: Chapter 12 (Part 9)

The Titans stood around Raven's bed, tension thick in the air. Her face twisted in discomfort, and soft groans escaped her as she clung to a fitful, uneasy sleep.

"She's getting worse, guys," Beast Boy murmured, glancing at her pale, strained features.

Nightwing ran a hand through his hair, frustration etched into his features. "Is there really nothing we can do?"

Starfire, her face full of concern, sat down beside Raven and gently took her hand, a fierce resolve hardening her gaze. "Perhaps the League has a way. We cannot let her suffer like this."

Just then, the door opened, and Roy entered, accompanied by a figure wrapped in a long coat and an unmistakable air of mystery.

"I couldn't get hold of Zatanna. Apparently, she's... no longer in this universe." Roy shot them a resigned look as he gestured to the man next to him. "But I got us a consultant."

Beast Boy eyed the stranger skeptically. "Who's the old guy?"

The man raised an eyebrow at the remark, his lips curving into a smirk as Starfire gasped.

"Beast Boy, he is not... old. Quite youthful, actually," she insisted, nodding thoughtfully as she sized him up. "He appears no older than forty-five."

"Oi! Forty-five's a bit rich," the man huffed, casting her a playful glare before looking back at Raven with a sharp, discerning gaze.

As he stepped closer, his demeanor turned serious. "Let's get a better look at what we're dealing with, shall we?" he murmured, extending a hand just above Raven's forehead.

"That's John Constantine," Roy explained, a bit sheepishly. "If we're hoping to keep this discreet... well, there's no one better."

"Keep what discreet, exactly?" Batman's voice cut through the room, and the Titans tensed, realizing they'd been caught.

Constantine didn't miss a beat, glancing briefly at Batman with a sardonic twist of his lips. "Trigon," he said simply, the name alone laden with a gravity that silenced the room.

Batman's expression darkened as he took in Raven's pained form. "You're saying he's back?"

Constantine let out a short sigh. "Back would be putting it lightly. Trigon? He's not playing by the same rules. He's—let's just say he isn't someone you deal with lightly. Not while he's mucking about in the multiversal sandbox."

Batman frowned. "And what's keeping him from breaking through?"

"Bit of a thorn in his side," Constantine replied, choosing his words carefully. "I'm not too sure on the fine details, but ages ago, the highest pantheon cast Trigon out—and he's been trying to worm his way back in ever since. Now, I'm sure you've already crossed paths with the Destroyer God of this universe, Lord Gohan." He paused, letting that sink in. "Let's just say his job description doesn't exactly make room for Trigon's little tricks. Hard to ignore someone like that, especially when he's got his eye on the supernatural realm."

Batman didn't react outwardly but nodded, absorbing the information. Constantine, meanwhile, focused on Raven, murmuring an incantation under his breath. A soft, pale glow began to gather around his hand, pulsing faintly as he tapped into Raven's fractured realm.

After a tense silence, he straightened slightly, his face grim. "She's in there, alright. Trapped deep. Whatever plan he's got, it's going to take every trick I know to pry her loose without setting him off."

"What'll you need?" Batman asked quietly.

Constantine gave Batman a sidelong look. "Just keep your distance. The fewer who know, the better—"

Suddenly, an immense vibration tore through the entire universe, so powerful it made nearly every living being lose consciousness for a few seconds before it ceased.

"W-what was that?" Roy asked, feeling like he'd been tossed in a blender.

"Was that Trigon!?" Beast Boy exclaimed, shaking his head in confusion.

"No," Constantine replied, his tone grim. "Trigon doesn't have that kind of power on his own. He needs a vessel to break in—and whatever that was didn't care about cosmic laws or subtlety."

The universe shook again, even more violently, this time lasting a full ten seconds. Everyone struggled to stay conscious, gripping onto anything nearby to steady themselves.

Batman was already typing furiously on his wrist computer, his jaw clenched. "We need a debriefing immediately. I want all of you there." His gaze bore into the Titans, and they could feel the tension radiating off him.

"We need to take Raven to the Watchtower, where she can be observed at all times."

Just then, Raven let out a piercing scream, her body writhing as if seized by an invisible force.
