What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company?

"We're not actually fighting them… Are we?" I whispered.

"Doesn't look like we have a choice, though…" Amber whispered back.

I don't think we have enough firepower to get through this though…

Amber gave me a proud look, "Does that mean it's time to burn everything?'

I suppose we don't really have a choice anymore…

Just as I was about to say yes, the Pirate Lord suddenly stepped forward and pointed her katana at Helen.

"I challenge you, Helen, mano a mano. You and me with the control of the entire pirate fleet on the line."

The other woman narrowed her eyes at Takehashi, "Why would I even agree to something like that? You are clearly at a disadvantage now and all I need to do is get everyone to shoot at you and be done with it. I gain nothing from agreeing to this."

"Perhaps. But I can guarantee you that I will at the very least take half of all of you down with me. Is that something your little minions are willing to bet on? Because I doubt they would want to just get cut down after coming this far, do they? Or do you not mind sending all these people to their deaths just to fulfil your goal?"

The pirates on Helen's side looked at each other in concern, clearly not willing to be a sacrifice for Helen to achieve her goal.

Helen must have realised that just those words from Takehashi was enough to shake up her entire group because she lifted up her pistol to shoot at the Pirate Lord, clearly aiming to take her out with a sneak attack.

Takehashi didn't even flinch and slashed out her sword in an instant, deflecting the bullet away and sending it piercing through the arm of one of Helen's pirates behind her.

The guy let out a yell of pain and fell onto the ground while clutching his arm, startling the people around him.

Takehashi swung her sword in an arc while shooting Helen a mocking smile, "Oh no. If you try that again, another one of your men might just die, you know?"

The pirates behind Helen were all looking at her and clearly hoping that they wouldn't be the next victim of her stubbornness.

Helen slowly lowered her gun, "So you're basically saying that one of us should die then? How would I know your little band of minions behind you would even honour your agreement?"

"Simple. Without me, aren't you already free to do whatever you want with them? They clearly just want to leave at this point so if you don't want to trouble yourself further, just let them all leave. And if you decide to kill them anyway, it's not like I can stop you anymore, can I?"

Helen shifted her gaze towards us and her brows furrowed.

Even I could tell that this duel was heavily stacked in Takehashi's favour but the pirates behind Helen were pretty much in favour of not being used as meat shields after coming this far. So even if Helen would most likely win if she just ordered everyone to attack, the pirates on her side might actually betray her instead.

After all, this group already chose to turn traitor once, it wouldn't be that hard for them to betray another person again.

Without much of a choice, Helen growled at the Pirate Lord, "Fine. Let's do this then. But fists only, no weapons."

Surprisingly, Takehashi agreed, "Fine. After you."

Helen gestured one of her subordinates over and handed her pistols to him while Takehashi did the same with Matsumoto, leaving her two katanas to the guy.

They exchanged some whispers before Matsumoto stepped back, returning to our group while Takehashi went towards the centre where Helen was already waiting.

Both of them rolled up their sleeves and I was wondering what they would use to indicate the start of the fight but that was answered when the two of them just let out a yell and charged at each other.

They punched out their fists at the same time and Takehashi smashed her fist across Helen's face while her former subordinate landed a punch in her abdomen, both women only taking a step back from the blow before they jumped at each other again.

Since I wasn't really familiar with either of them, I had no idea who was going to win so I slowly shuffled over to the girls.

"If the Pirate Lord is defeated…"

"Don't worry Teara, I'll just burn everyone else here. And even if she wins, I'll be ready to burn everyone just in case those guys decide not to honour the agreement anyway." Amber assured me.

Good… I wasn't going to leave this to chance especially when dealing with pirates.

I didn't even trust Takehashi and look where that got us?

The two women continued to trade blows and neither of them were holding back.

The Pirate Lord tried to deliver a spinning kick towards Helen's head which missed her by mere inches as she leaned back to avoid it.

Helen then tried to counter attack with a punch of her own but Takehashi caught it in her palm and tried to spin around to throw her opponent on the ground.

Helen refused to let her complete the throw and managed to grab onto the Pirate Lord's back, which only caused both of them to be thrown on the ground instead.

The two of them rolled to their feet at the same time and lunged at each other again, their hands grabbing at each other's as they pushed against each other.

Both of them even tilted their heads back at the same time before throwing it forward in a headbutt, smashing their foreheads together in a loud thud which sent both women reeling back.

Even I couldn't help but wince when I saw that.

Takehashi recovered first and stepped towards Helen who only just managed to turn her gaze back to her opponent.

The Pirate Lord then swung her fist upwards in an uppercut, nailing the woman under her chin which I was expecting to completely knock her out.

But she suddenly snapped her head back and delivered a gut punch instead, forcing Takehashi back.

She then followed up with another punch aimed at Takehashi's face, knocking her back another step.

Seeing her advantage, Helen did not hold back and punched her in the abdomen once more which she chained into a kick aimed at her side.

Takehashi was knocked onto the ground and it looked like she was going to lose but when Helen tried to jump on her, the Pirate Lord suddenly stuck out her foot and kicked her in the chest, sending her flying up into the air.

She then quickly rolled onto her feet as Helen came falling back down, the woman managing to flip herself to land on a knee before she smashed face first into the ground.

Unfortunately for her, that was what the Pirate Lord had been aiming for as she leapt forward and kicked her across the side of her head, sending the woman rolling away.

Takehashi did not give her a chance to recover as she chased after her, the Pirate Lord leaping up into the air with her leg poised to bring it down on Helen's defensive head.

At this point, it really looked like Takehashi would win the fight when one of the Power Armoured pirates raised his arm to point his arm mounted minigun at Takehashi.

I opened my mouth to shout out a warning but Matsumoto moved faster as he had Takehashi's katana in his hands and slashed it at the Power Armour.

The energy wave slashed out from him and sliced through the Power Armour like it was paper, cutting it into half at the waist and most definitely killing whoever was inside.

Just as I was about to relax, I realised the Pirate Lord had suddenly curled herself midair like she was trying to alter the direction of her fall.

I thought she had done that because she had panicked from the sight of the Power Armour raising his arm at her until blood spurted out from her side like she had just been cut.

Another pirate wielding an energy blade then appeared in between Helen and Takehashi, the guy clearing having used a cloaking mod or something to launch a sneak attack at the Pirate Lord intending to kill her.

It was already surprising that she even managed to avoid a fatal blow but the pirate was not going to let Takehashi go and tried to rush at her to finish her off.

She leapt back to barely avoid the slash but the pirate then switched his grip and changed the slash into a sword thrust, catching her by her abdomen and piercing the blade through her flesh.

Matsumoto was shouting at her and the other pirates behind Helen raised their guns to point in our direction.

These fucking assholes…
