Warlock of Oceans: My Poseidon System

Chapter 137: Seaside Town

A/N - I messed up on the last chapter and accidentally called Sage, otherwise known as Panther, Seber. It has currently been fixed, and Seber will be appearing in another part of this chapter with Cyrus, so I don't want to confuse you all. Anyways, I apologize for the mistake.

"I'm glad you all have come," A voice stretched out towards us. And like the sounding of an angelic bell, all of our eyes were drawn to the caretaker of this orphanage. She was beautiful and radiant, dazzling brightly in the sun peering through the glass slide door right beside us.

"Ma'am, may we see Cyrus? I need to ask him something," I immediately spoke up, expecting him to come right around the corner since that seemed like him, but… nothing. There was absolutely nothing.

The woman's eyes shifted to the ground, a hint of sorrow dropping in her voice. "You just missed him. He had visited me, hoping you all would know where to go to meet him, but the governmental workers were already on his tail. Not wanting to put me or any of the children in danger or suspicion, he immediately left, making it seem like he questioned me for something… so, I helped him with his escape, directing them in the direction he was going in."

But, just as we all sunk our eyes down in disappointment, the woman handed me a letter meant for everybody here. The daggers, his closest siblings, and the rest of the children at the orphanage.

And I cried. I cried endlessly as I read his apology quickly scribbled down.

(Cyrus POV)

"I heard what happened…"

"Mhm…"

"Are you good? You don't look so good from where I'm sitting…."

"Well, then I'm probably not good," I replied, turning towards Seber. Her eyes looked at me in the small mirrors, glancing up and down my body while the clacking of the dirt bike shuffled against scattered stones on the ground.

And there was this quest. Obviously, it was going to be troublesome, but from what I could tell, the temple of light will be taking care of me. Seber had yet to be revealed to the temple of light as a mole, so she was the one given granted the most trust in order to take care of me.

"Where are we going again?" I asked since I knew we were heading in the direction of a branch of the Temple of Light. I mean, the Temple of Light doesn't really have a main trunk that serves as the main base of its operations, but the branches still had ranks in terms of power. Although, I was still unfamiliar with such information.

"A seaside town. The temple is weaker than the one in Elpol, but it's a good chance to inject yourself into its ranks. You may be an apostle, but nobody will truly believe that until you prove yourself… so make sure to fluff your feathers a bit before talking to anybody."

[The God of Oceans smiles at you]

"Did you plan this?" I grit my teeth.

"Plan this? What do you mean by that?"

"No, I was just talking to myself…"

"Alright, well, buckle up. I'd recommend holding onto my waist if you don't want to get sent flying off of the dirt bike."

Soon, we had reached a clearing after going up a large and tedious hill. Trees were beginning to dwindle the further we went up, and upon reaching the top, a weightless feeling enveloped us as we were sent flying into the air.

Quickly, I grabbed Seber's waist and felt my legs get kicked up into the air as we plummeted down toward the opposite side of the green hill. The scent of a salty sea breeze kicked through the air, rolling up the mountain, and we soon descended down at full speed.

With no obstacles in our way, we continuously sped up, the glistening sparkles of the beautifully clear ocean only a few miles away welcoming us to the seaside town. It didn't have any flashy colors, it didn't have any unnecessarily tall buildings, and it didn't even have an ounce of pollution. It was perfect. Absolutely perfect.

Soon, we arrived at the outside gates of this town. And surprisingly, it had a wall around it as if it was trying to protect itself from something. I wanted to ask Seber about it, but we had already been stopped by the guards at the front gate, forcing us to dismount the dirt bike and allow them to check us for any potentially dangerous items or weapons.

"We got nothing," Seber raised her hands, allowing the guard clad in pure fantasy-looking metal armor to pat her down. And it seems he had some ulterior motives as he couldn't help but look at her body wrapped in black leggings and a black leather jacket. "You done?"

"A-Ah, yes, sorry…" he quickly apologized before taking approximately two seconds to pat me down and then return to his buddies. He looked almost smug as he whispered, most likely about Seber.

Rolling the dirt bike through the open gate, we found ourselves in a beautiful coastal town made of white buildings and generally small but joyous houses. The residents were mostly fishmen and women, but there was the occasional human and elf.

The beating sun from above made sure to let us know we were next to the beach. And as we continued to walk through the stone brick streets, neatly paved to let cars pass through, I thought we were going to arrive at where we would be staying or at least visit the temple within this town, yet… it seemed Seber had a different idea. "Wanna go to the beach?"

"Shouldn't we at least inform the temple that we're here?"

"Oh, they already know…" The woman eagerly smiled before sitting back on the dirt bike and helping me up onto it. My body was taller than most kids my age, but in general, it was just so damn small that it was like scaling a fucking mountain trying to get onto this dirt bike. "Anyways… let's go!"

Speeding down the streets, pissing off a few locals, and receiving a few honking horns from passing cars, we finally arrived at the edge of the town, which blended effortlessly into the beach. The splashing waves of the ocean rocked against the tip of the wet sand, almost gesturing for us to splash in it.

"Come on… let's have some fun," Seber smiled, taking my hand and leading me across the beach before tearing me into a salty wave of the sea. It crushed my head and neck into the sand, pinning me down for the next wave to nearly drag my shorts and shirt off my body.

Seber laughed all the way to the deep end of the ocean, where she was forced to tread water, but even from where I was, I could see the steep decline not too far away. I knew how to swim. Perfectly, in fact, but that drop was just so damn menacing that once I ripped myself from the beating of waves, I just sat at the edge of the beach, watching the woman with black hair and deep black eyes splash around.

"What a shit vacation…." I chuckled.
